food was amazing! I know the restaurant well and was very hesitant to take our 2 yr old there. By going as soon as they opened, 6pm on a Sunday it was safe. The staff were wonderful and welcomed us and our little terrorizer very warmly. Stayed 2 hrs. Wonderful evening

Very good ambiance, excellent food, outstanding service. A bit noisy due to somewhat poor sound design, but it's a forgivable flaw. If you don't mind spending a bit, give it a try, IMHO it's well worth it.

Took a friend on a recent visit to L.A. First impression was stylish but very loud music. We were, assured that it,was the bar.area only, that was noisy. All the tables are placed under or very near speakers. Our waiter was sympathetic but nothing could be done. It was a Sunday so the Suishi bar, was, available, with noo over head speakers. We were, set. Our waiter and, sushi chef were very helpful at navigating the menu. The Wild Salmon Sashimi weas exception as was the Tonno Tacos. The California rolls were among the best I've ever had. Iasked for a recommendation for Saki and Liked the choice. Not inexpensive but well, worth the fine quality. I wish great restaurants like these would consider patrons that are bother by loud music.

An enjoyable experience at Koi, we ate on a Saturday night and there was a good atmosphere with a few celebs spotted. The restaurant has a low light ambience which adds to the mood. The food is great, but you really need a knowledge of sushi to avoid asking the waitress 50 questions about the menu. Value for money was well worth it, but the only negative was the cocktails. We tried 4, with all 4 of them poorly balanced in flavour. Overall definitely recommended if you are looking for a good restaurant in the area.

The staff move smoothly and effortlessly - never asking to take things away too soon - never asking how you are for no reason. They watch your eyes and body language and respond. The best wait staff I've ever seen. The valet parking is well organized. The food was very good and the suggested dishes did not disappoint. The waiter listened and offered suggestions with "reason" behind each: this is a favorite - this is one I personally enjoy because... - this is one that uses x ingredient in an unusual way so normally you would expect ___ but with this disk is will be like ___. These tip help with decision making and satidfaction

Koi used to be the "it" spot 7-8 years ago. Celebs, hotties, dare not come without rezzie WAY in advance. Now the bloom has faded. The blackberry martinis are sans blackberry. walk ins on Friday night actually have a shot. Good food but is that why people do sushi in LA?

My partner and I recently took two out-of-town guests to Koi, both of whom have sophisticated tastes and high expectations about ambiance and service. None of us were disappointed; on the contrary, Koi proved impressive on all fronts. The waiter was timely and attentive without being intrusive. He was also informative about signatures dishes and specialties. We all truly and thoroughly enjoyed every item we ordered. We sampled the sushi on offer and also several of the appetizers and none were disappointing. Finally, the ambiance was comfortable yet sleek and fashionable. Koi is now definitely on our list for entertaining guests.

wow, best way to describe Koi. let your server guide you. we were a party of 3. we shared a bunch of small plates. cannot remember all the names, but the crispy rice topped with spicy tuna was amazing as was the truffle salmon sashimi. shared a bunch of mains, the lamb chops and miso cod stand out in my memory and then a couple of rolls. the one with the mango really stood out, but everything we had was beyond amazing. not for the faint of wallet. bring your credit card and your appetite and you will not be disappointed. we sat next to somebody famous, I have no clue who, but my guest knew all about him. this is a regular occurrence at Koi. enjoy!

My first time at KOI, I had picked it as my second sushi restaurant choice in the area and was hoping the reviews did it justice. Gorgeous dining room with extremely comfy booths, very attentive & friendly service staff including the busboys. The food was very good. If I could find anything to complain about, the sushi servings very unusually small. i highly recommend this for an impressive setting, great location and wonderful food! I'll be back!

I had a great dining experience at Koi. I came with a friend for dinner, and it was our first time here. the staff was pleasant and very helpful, both when we were deciding what to order and later when we needed help finding a good club/bar to go to after dinner. We had the crispy rice, which was just amazing. For our main course we had the black cod and a sushi roll (can't remember which one though). Everything was delicious and the coctails very tasty. I would definitely come back here!

Koi is the original LA sushi hotspot. Ten years ago, every star in LA rolled through. Today, not so much, but not because the place changed, the scene just changed. Koi is still as solid as it ever was. They started the "crispy rice" craze that has been duplicated a 100 over in LA. But to this day, nobody does it better. Same story with the baked crab hand roll. The waiters are still crazy attentive and all of the details remain on point. Yes, a few may do it at little cheaper and younger but it's gonna be louder and the details will be missed. Still a solid LA mainstay. Go. Just don't expect to see Paris Hilton. To me, that's a plus.

Koi is a perfect for a special occasion. It is a bit pricey and on the trendy side so I can't imagine everyone but the extremely rich and famous will eat there frequently. We enjoyed our dinner. The food was perfect in portion, taste and quality. I liked the music playlist, got a lot of ideas to add to mine through using Shazam. My only complaint is how dark it is inside the restaurant. Makes me look too old when I must pull out my cell phone flashlight to read the menu.

The ambiance was great. It was the perfect setting for a romantic date or dinner and drinks with a group of friends. The staff was friendly and attentive (the waitress and the food servers). The service was prompt. We went for the DineLa menu and each course of our three course meal was delivered right on time, shortly after finishing the previous course. The food was amazing, from the appetizers right down to the dessert. As this was my first time visiting the restaurant, I was extremely pleased with my experience and will definitely return in the future. I highly recommend dining at Koi.
