The smiling greeters when we walked through the door were just what we needed after a busy day at work. Our waiter, Dan, was helpful and easy to get along with. His suggestions were perfect. We really enjoyed the shrimp with walnuts and fish with eggplant and asparagus. We go to koi because my son and I love sushi whereas my wife and daughter like Chinese food, the best place to find both. Our waiter John got everything right and even returned the wine we didnt care for and brought a different one without making it a big deal. (They could have better selection of wine, the only real downside to koi). They even brought a sweet little dessert with happy birthday spelled out in Chinese. We ordered the crab wonton appetizer, which were served with a sweet sour dip and a mustard dip. By far, the most fabulous crab wonton we have ever eaten. We asked if it was possible to order the Walnut Shrimp, which was not on the lunch menu, but on the dinner menu. Our waiter said they would be happy to prepare it for us and it was the BEST Walnut Shrimp we have ever experienced. Excellent recommendations for both wine and entrees which pointed us to less familiar but wonderful sushi creations of the house. The blend of Jaapanese and Chinese offerings, all beautifully prepared, made for rich blend of flavors and traditions.
