A word from Koi - Bryant Park
Rich earth tones of orange, red and brown impart warmth to the cool and tranquil space. Thin tapestries of translucent rose fabric are embellished with flame motifs and suspended from the ceiling, creating a separate seating area perfect for a light bite near the large front windows.
Famous for its unique and mouth-watering interpretation of Japanese cuisine. Upscale Japanese fare is given a jolt of new life through an innovative use of ingredients, resulting in refreshing and exciting flavor combinations. Crispy Rice with Spice Tuna, an addictive version of the classic spicy tuna roll, featuring warm grilled rice topped with a thick layer of cool, savory tuna. Baked Crab Roll, for which succulent fresh crabmeat is wrapped in a thin rice crepe paper dotted with sesame seeds and baked to perfection. Hamachi Fusion with Soy-Citrus and Truffle Essence all artfully plated by Koi’s skilled culinary team.

Diner Reviews
  • "Food is always very good. Service could be better. Every time we go to this restaurant we have to keep requesting with every dish that serving spoons be given as the food is shared by everyone at the table."

  • "Food was excellent but portions are small Koi classics pretty muc means small plates. Food is excellent as is service but be prepared to pay for it. Lunch for 2 men $100 walked out still slightly hungry."

  • "The food at Koi is outstanding. I highly recommend the Shrimp Tempura, which is very lightly breaded with a spicy bite. This is not your everyday tempura. Delicious meat dishes. Fantastic tofu with vegetables for the vegetarian or tofu lover (me!). Excellent sushi. Very loud and lively room. Worth the noise for the food!"

  • "I eat at Koi midtown often and you can't go wrong! The crispy rice never disappoints!"

  • "Took a group of 7... very busy with others doing similar things. Had to wait 10-15 minutes for a reserved table. Service was excellent as was the food. The noise level was much too loud to carry on a conversation."

  • "I frequent KOI Bryant Park for both lunches and dinners. You can't go wrong at KOI. Great food and great service. Whether a business lunch or a dinner with friends, KOI offers it all. It's always consistently good and consistently fun."

  • "My family was in from the UK and went to Koi for dinner. We were given a very comfortable booth. The service was EXCELLENT - each course was paced well and the servers were so efficient. Everything we ordered was delicious. A fabulous dining experience!"

  • "I've eaten in Koi many times. The food is quite good. But enough already. Their inability to deliver the meal in a timely coordinated manner is no longer tolerable. The waitstaff is always pleasant and beseeching for forgiveness. But for the incredibly steep prices, I expect my appetizer to be served before my guest's entree arrives. 90 minutes to wait for my entree?! Inexcusable. There are plenty of other sushi emporiums in NYC that are just as fabulous without the wait-time or the fatuousness. I won't bother with Koi anymore."

  • "Food is always good but the crowd makes it hard to relax. Def a suit/corporate place."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "The front versus the back of Koi is drastically different from an atmosphere perspective. If you go ensure you ask to be seated away from the front. But as usualy the food was good, and service was attentive."

  • "We had a delicious meal at Koi and the service was great as well. We went pre-theater and were seated and served promptly. I would particularly recommend the lobster tacos to start."

  • "Went with colleagues for a team dinner. Waiter was great in explaining the menu, food was great and we all had a great time."

  • "We had tiptop service, delicious food and fine wine, but the place is quite noisy so it is not really romantic, not a place to meet for nice conversations. The interior is really goodlooking so if you don't mind the noise level, then this is well worth a visit."

  • "Arrived for our reservation. Waited 15 minutes- the front of the room was completely empty so we presumed we were getting a table in the back (upper level) room. After 20 minutes we were seated at one of the many vacant table at the front. When asked about the wait for the empty table The concierge said "That's my decision to make""

  • "I've been to Koi - Bryant Park many times and every time I go I'm less impressed. The creamy rock Shrimp tempura is good as is the crunchy spicy tuna. However, they definitely don't use rock shrimp. Those are just baby shrimp. Everything else was just okay. The waiter recommended the baked lobster roll. He told me "you can't really taste the lobster" which I thought was weird. It was gross and it gave me a stomach ache. The spicy shrimp tempura hand roll was a soggy mess of greasiness."

  • "Excellent service, seated upon arrival with reservation"

  • "I had been to Koi a couple of times before and really liked its take on Asian fusion and have been recommending it. But this last time the food was terrible. The potstickers were heavy and oily. The lobster tacos were full of some kind of mayonnaise. Even the sea bass, usually one of their best dishes, was overly salty. They need changes in the kitchen."

  • "This is my family's favorite restaurant. I would not give it five stars for a few reasons. The dishes are all overpriced for the quantity. Although the service has always been great & never had a problem getting a reservation unlike other restaurants. The restaurant has become unaffordable & we do not go as often which is sad as my kids enjoy going here."

  • "I was gonna say you can't forget he crunchy spicy tuna roll but the same is true for the Chilean sea bass, the salad, the chocolate banana pastry, the cheesecake and just about everything on the menu. Koi is scrumptious and my favorite sushi restaurant in the City."

  • "I frequent koi and it is still amazing every time. The food is amazing, I would highly recommend the crispy rice with spicy tuna, yellowtail tartare, kobe beef carpaccio, and plenty of other dishes. You really cannot go wrong with anything here. The only issue I have is when small parties are seated in the small tables that are almost on top of each other and you have to squeeze into the table and then feel as if you are dining with another group. But of course this is a hot NYC restaurant and I understand they are just trying to make the best of their space."

  • "Food was great. Took 45 minutes to be seated, even with a reservation. Services was slow too."

  • "Beautiful space but the sushi was only good but not extraordinary."

  • "I am a long time big fan but was disappointed last Sunday night by quality of the food. I have always thought the duck entrée was one of the best in the city. I always order medium rare. This time it arrived overcooked dried out and almost flavorless. I wojuld have sent it back if I weren't in a hurry. Sorry guys. Must do better than that in this town."

  • "My favorite restaurant! I've been to Koi for many special occasions and every time I go it seems to get better!"

  • "We really edamame dumplings and crispy rice both were really delicious. It was a birthday lunch and the food, ambiance and dessert were perfect."

  • "Went for Valentine's Day... crispy rice is insane. Sat us quickly and waitress was awesome walking us through the menu. Tables near the front where we were sitting are a little closer together than I'd like but luckily sat next to a super friendly couple. Would definitely go again on special occasion."

  • "Koi could be loud and busy but the food is out of this world."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "Weekday lunch the noise level was insanely high. I wouldn't recommend for a business lunch with a group. Food was fine."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "Wonderful creative cuisine. The meat and poultry offerings are better than the also terrific fish dishes. Definitely a hot spot."
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "Good place to go for a trendy alternative for a business lunch. Also more fun than the classic old, but excellent, sushi restaurants in midtown, like Sushiden or Hatsuhana. It gets a bit disorganized at lunch with everyone descending at 12 and 12:30. Hopefully you get an organized server.Starting to look a little dated and could use an update."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Have been twice for the 5;30 opening time for dinner and don't get seated until 5:45. We were first in a very short line. It's tough to get thru dinner when you have a 7pm show when opening service isn't prompt."
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "I think they are over priced for what you get. However, the service was excellent and the food was very good. The place is very nice and well decorated."

  • "I love love love this restaurant! It's my favorite up-scale restaurant in NYC because the food is so delicious. My recos are: krispy rice, black cod, and tuna tar tar."

  • "Overall good but I've had better sushi in my day for half the price"

  • "Hands down because of our waitress Bonnie, it has been our best dinning experience!"
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "Very nice ambiance and decor. Tuna sashimi was disappointing. Did not taste fresh. However, the black miso cod was delicious as was the Koi signature tuna roll. Would recommend and come back again."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Very good combination of unusual tastes. Food was outstanding but be forewarned - don't come here if you want to have an intimate conversation. Very high energy level makes this a difficult place to carry on a casual chat with your friend or date."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "we come here every time we go to NYC and are never disappointed crispy rice, creamy shrimp tempura and dragon roll cannot be beat!"

  • "Enjoyed the great food yet again - perfect place on so many levels. I will continue to keep coming back."

  • "Loved the food and atmosphere but the service was poor. I did not receive what I ordered and was not able to get corrected since we had to leave for a show. Left hungry after eating what was brought."
