A word from Koi - Bryant Park
Rich earth tones of orange, red and brown impart warmth to the cool and tranquil space. Thin tapestries of translucent rose fabric are embellished with flame motifs and suspended from the ceiling, creating a separate seating area perfect for a light bite near the large front windows.
Famous for its unique and mouth-watering interpretation of Japanese cuisine. Upscale Japanese fare is given a jolt of new life through an innovative use of ingredients, resulting in refreshing and exciting flavor combinations. Crispy Rice with Spice Tuna, an addictive version of the classic spicy tuna roll, featuring warm grilled rice topped with a thick layer of cool, savory tuna. Baked Crab Roll, for which succulent fresh crabmeat is wrapped in a thin rice crepe paper dotted with sesame seeds and baked to perfection. Hamachi Fusion with Soy-Citrus and Truffle Essence all artfully plated by Koi’s skilled culinary team.

Diner Reviews
  • "Stayed with my husband at the hotel connected to Koi. It was great food and the service was good. Very big restaurant and it was very noisy. You couldn' t almost speak to eachother. That was the only negative thing about it."

  • "The food and service is always impeccable! We have been coming back for years. The spicy shrimp tempura, tuna tartar, Koi crispy rice and kobe style pot stickers are all must try appetizers. All sushi rolls are fantastic as well. If you like sweet (but not too sweet) cocktails - definitely get a lychee martini. They are delicious and go down very easy! Be sure to make a reservation and enjoy!"

  • "Great food. Always fresh and consistent in taste. Love the ginger mojito. My friends and I agree even better than Nobu."

  • "We were looking for sushi near Times Square, but someplace not to crowded. This was the perfect place. Very good food and great service."

  • "We ate sushis. All of them were delicious. The service was fantastic and very friendly. All three of us enjoyed the experience."

  • "The sashimi (raw fish) and sushi was delicious. We tried the hamachi fusion which was very good. The sushi pieces (fresh water eel and scallop)were very fresh and high quality. The sushi rolls with black truffle was a good surprise, making a unique taste. The service was slightly slow. The environment was good."

  • "The food was great, but it was very noisy. I had to speak really loud to keep a conversation going. Not a good place for a business lunch, but I would go back with my friends."

  • "I really like this place. It was my second time at Koi and the crispy rice is to die for. I normally don't even eat much fish of anything, but tried the crispy rice when I went the first time because my friend urged me to. And it was sooo good that I had to come back. The filet mignon was excellent as was the flourless molton chocolate cake. I also love that they have gluten-free options since I am wheat sensitive. The only downsides are that it is a bit pricey and that it is not that comfortable when you sit in one of the booth-like half round spaces with four people. Overall our dinner group really enjoyed the experience though ans I would definitely go back for more crispy rice :)"

  • "The special salmon roll with black truffles and the Ponzu dipping sauce is INCREDIBLE. I've been here a bunch of times and its always consistently good."

  • "Koi has delicious food and wonderful service! We had hamachi carpaccio, a tuna and salmon roll with special sauce, and tuna with sticky rice for appetizers. My husband had a red snapper special for his entree. It was steamed and therefore very healthy. I had a Chilean sea bass entree which was good, but it was swimming in soy sauce so I had to put it on a different plate! We were late and in a big rush to go to the theater, but our server handled the situation beautifully so we were able to eat everything before we had to leave. We used to go to this restaurant all the time, but we had not been there for a few years. We were glad to eat there again."

  • "I really like it... It was my second visit, and I decide to come back because I remember the good taste of the food. I love the lobster tacos!. The food is very good, and the service was very good as well."

  • "read review on open table and ordered the crispy rice, double tuna roll, lobster tacos ---didn't even make it to entrees -food was fresh and yummy - a little noisy but delicious and the desserts?! yum"

  • "We were treated like royalty since they knew we were getting married. Dessert was on the house with a "Congratulations" written in chocolate.... If you are a sushi lover, this is an experience above & beyond any expectation!"

  • "I've never had a bad meal here. We changed the reservation and they couldn't have been more gracious. We liked the efficiency of our server. Will definitely go back again and again."

  • "Everytime I am in NYC i make it a point to dine at Koi. The ambiance is very hip and modern and the food is simply great. Whether I dine on business or travel with my kids ages 10 and 13. Koi is always a great choice. I would highly recommend."

  • "The ambiance about this restaurant says first date / I bring my mistress here for the start of a fun night. The colors and are vibrant and gets your excited for the night but not overpowering so they do not draw away from the dining experience. The food is above average and the service is on point though a bit inattentive."

  • "What the noice meter calls "Energetic" I call impossible to talk or hear. So if you are alone, then that's fine ... but don't go with anyone else"

  • "Rice cakes - awesome! The seared rice infused with soy sauce and topped with tuna is a must order. The fatty toro is always top notch. I was surprised by the dessert menu - banana and chocolate eggrolls - BAM! If I were in in NYC, I'd go again today. "

  • "Typically, I would only order sushi at Koi. The sashimi here is amazing and I can't get enough of the crispy rice with spicy tuna. However, I was with friends who preferred cooked fish and we were sharing. The sea bass was AMAZING. Don't skip that when you go to Koi. AMAZING."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner on monday night. very crowded, lively group of people all around. The food is outstanding, Lobster in any dish great, sushi, duck breast every thing we got for the table was plentiful and exquisitely done. Drinks were creative and went well with the food, bartender from miami was a sweetheart. The service was almost too much. We barely finished something and they were picking up plates and cleaning off table. Almost a little rushed but we didnt care. Great spot on Bryant Park."

  • "Unlike Koi in LA, this place rests on it's reputation and delivers lackluster, unfresh mock-Japanese food. The only good item I tried was the crispy rice with spicy tuna. The baked crab hand roll was dry, flavorless and seemed pre-made and served cold rather than fresh. The seared albacore was an old cut of fish that began to harden and crystallize, wholly without zest and flavor. Lastly, the service left much to be desired and was very shoddy (20 minutes for a simple drink to come out, waters left unrefilled). I'll never return. The one positive part were the friendly and accommodating hostesses"

  • "Took a client there for lunch. The food was great and the staff was very attentive. It would have been great if the Sushi chef offered a Sushi Lunch Special. Special not meaning "price special", only meaning a "conbination of his special items". It would give them a chance to show off thier talent as well as make ordering with clients easier. Just a suggestion."

  • "We really enjoyed our girls night out at Koi. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. A bit on the pricey side but that can be expected in NYC."

  • "Did was great and the atmosphere was very cool. However they forgot one of our sushi dishes and it was very clear that they rushed to make it when it finally came out. "

  • "Really looking forward to lunch but server brought my dining companion the wrong dish. This was a client. Really awkward. And although they rushed the "new" order nothing more than a "I'm sorry" was offered. At this level of establishment you should comp dessert or manager apology. That being said sushi was fresh and well prepared - when finally delivered."

  • "Great sushi menu plus another menu for those who don't like sushi. There's something for everyone while still being chic."

  • "Ordered the salad with calamari which was terrible. It came with little or no dressing. The fried calamari was very salty and greasy. It was of poor quality and not enough for the price. I went at lunch time and the noise level was way too high. The service was minimal. Not looking forward to going back."
