Recently went on a Thursday night. Arrived about 7pm and were first ones there (early bird diners?!?!) so tough to tell what ambience would be like later in the evening or on a weekend. Food was excellent - extremely fresh - especially the fish. Highly recommend the Koco Mojito to drink. Service was extremely friendly. Would definitely return.

My overall experience was good. The service was slow, too many tables including the bar for our waiter. The flavor of the food was very good, but a sin for fish is that it be overcooked. Both the Tuna Tartare and the Mahi Mahi were way overcooked which took away from the dining experience. You just don't expect that at a restaurant in the San Juan Hotel. We told our waiter and Head waiter and no one really seemed to care. No excuse and no gesture of of trying to make it right so that we would return, which I don't think we will.

Great last minute find. Went on a late Sunday night and only one other group was there but that didn't bother me. Served by Maurizio who was one of the best servers I've ever had. Went for my birthday and was given a free round of drinks. Recommend, maybe on a Friday or Saturday night if you're looking for a crowd.

I was glad to be there on a friday night, is the best day to be there since there's a professional magiccian performing table by table. And the food is great not too spicy either as i thought it will be, the drinks are good too, and the deserts deserve a medal. For a friday night special ocation, this is the place to be. I'm looking forward to go back on my next vacation and hope the magic will still be there! Btw his name is Manuel Velasco I was shocked since he performed all those tricks in front of you...

We're regular visitors to the Island and to the El San Juan Hotel, knew of Koco but had adopted a manana attitude toward trying it out. I'm sorry we waited so long. Billed as "Porto" Rican with a kick, it lives up to it's billing. Our server was happy to not only make recommendations, but described each of the dishes he recommended and why he liked them. We had the scallops appetizer, the mero and the chicken. All were presented well, tasted great and were nice size portions. Not like the almost tapas size kind where the chef seems to think they're preparing a work of art rather than a main course and not so huge that you couldn't finish. We look forward to making this one of our regular stops in the future.

Our overall experience at Koco was pleasant as my Husband and I dined with out 5 year old son. The food is flavorful but the portions are too small (especially for the prices). We are from NY and we are no strangers to paying good to get that in return but our portions were too small here. We shared the beef dumplings as an appetizer, had the jerk grilled chicken and the churrasco for entrees and the chocolate brownie dessert. Although they don't have a kids menu they were great about making our son panko breaded chicken fingers and fries which we though was nice. All around service, ambience and food was good.

Totally enjoyed our meal at Koco. Our waiter, Alberto, couldn't have been more helpful, making suggestions and describing every dish. The tuna tartare appetizer was spectacular. Our entrees arrived in a timely fashion and were delicious. My husband said the paella was the best he had ever had, and he has a deccriminating palate. I ordered the grouper entree that was served with a mofungo. I found it a little sweet. It was very good, the fish prepared perfectly. We did not order dessert but the meal was terrific.

They have many new menu items, it changes often but still have some of the staples which I hope never change. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable about how the food is prepared and they make an awesome pomegranate cosmo if that is your preference. I highly recommend it to anyone who is in San Juan

My husband and I ate here on May 31st, 2013. We were staying in Isla Verde and wanted a modern version of the typical fried Puerto Rican food. This place had excellent food. One thing to note is that it does get mostly tourist so it is best to inform your server if you are not in a hurry, as they are not on island time here. We had the chicken fricassee dumplings for our appetizer, which were decent, but the rest of the meal was amazing! I ordered the "Kokonut shrimp" appetizer with a side of the root vegetable gratin for dinner, and my husband got the seared tuna steak. Both dishes were amazing, but my personal favorite was the shrimp. It a very romantic spot with low lighting tucked away in the back of the hotel.
