  • "The food was really good. I would probably go back, but I'm not sure I would recommend it based on the atmosphere. It is very dark and I felt the decor hadn't been update since the 80's. There was a large samurai suit on display covered in dust! If you are going to put a spot light on something maybe you should clean it every year or so! I would go back because I know the food is worth it in the end, but would not take people there I wanted to impress or recommend to a friend while visiting Nashville. "

  • "We and the children very much enjoyed our evening with KOBES. This was a Sunday meal at 5:30 and we found it WONDERFUL that our wait was nothing lol...was quick service and left filled. Staff was friendly, all of them. We don't normally get to enjoy such exquisite dining, so when we have the opportunity we will come back. Thank you."

  • "Kobe used to be one of my favorite spots. Now the prices have been raised to the, " only eat here as a visiting tourist level" and the quality of the food prior to being prepared was subpar. My filet wasn't a true filet mignon...it was stringy and full of gristle or something and salmon was fishy. The chef however, very entertaining and did a fantastic job creating at least tasty veggies and rice. Alas, my last visit to what used to be a fun and delicious place to go."

  • "The plates are $20 and up but very worth it. You get salad, soup, more rice, veggies and meat than one man can eat and ice cream. The atmosphere, the chefs and the staff are excellent. Very entertaining and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back anytime we are in town again. You must try it!"

  • "For the value, we are just as happy with Toyama or Shogun. Of course they don't have Kobe beef. So if you want to say you've had Kobe beef, go. The ladies restroom needed a lot of attention for a place that claims to be tops!"

  • "This was a birthday treat. My first time at Kobe. From the time we hit the door it was very welcoming. The person I was with was vision impaired, liked that it was easy for him to get around in the place. Our chef was entertaining and very accommodating. The food was good, just a little to salty for me, but good and it was plenty of it. Thanks for the experience."

  • "Had reservations and still had to wait :30 mins- early in the evening 6:30. Service started good, but declined rapidly. Food was prepared nicely, cook had no personality. Overpriced compared to other like restaurants, nothing special. Paying for the name on the door but did not meet expectations. For the price, you would think the resturant could afford to update furnishings. Several cushions had tears repaired with duct tape. Tables and grills looked like stuck in the 90's, very old looking and smelling."

  • "The food was very good - I had a double filet mignon and lobster and enjoyed every last bite. Our hibachi chef wasn't the most energetic person though, and didn't provide our group nearly the entertainment as the other chef provided for the group across the table who arrived 20 minutes after we did. It was also about 10 or 15 minutes between when we were seated and when someone came to take our drink orders, which seemed quite lengthy. Overall though, the food was great and the place itself was quite nice."

  • "I love going to Kobes steakhouse..It is my all time favorite restaurant in Nashville because of their outstanding food... It has become my "special event" place to go... The staff are always polite and the service is great...The food is beyond compare!!! They always manage to take extra care to supply a safe environment for my husband's shellfish allergies..."

  • "The food was great. Our cook Bruce was hilarious and kept us thoroughly entertained while cooking our meal. Our reservation was for 745 and our entire group was there by 740, however we were not seated until 830 and did not begin ordering until 10 minutes later. Once everything came together we were in love with the experience."

  • "Went for our 15 year anniversary. Didn't like that we had to take off our shoes, leave them outside the room we were eating in, and had to get down on the floor to sit with our shoes off. The fried rice, shrimp and scallops were good. The steak had a little bit of a liver taste and the chicken was not good. We should've ate at Goten....food is much better there."

However, it has been cleaned up, the chef was fantastic, the food fabulous, and the menu had great offerings. My one gripe is that, before when you purchased one of the combination diners (I believe it was scallop, chicken, and filet) it did not come with the option of chocolate mousse for desert."

  • "We had an amazing time celebrating our fourth anniversary at Kobe. My boyfriend ordered the Filet, Scallops, Shrimp, and Chicken dinner and I got the Filet & Scallops dinner. Everything was prepared EXACTLY like we ordered it, and the food was timed perfectly so we were never overwhelmed with too much at once. The salad with ginger dressing and miso soup were a perfect way to prepare our stomachs for what was to come - fried rice, seafood, perfect steak, and ice cream! We loved every bite. The only negatives: 1) we sat at a hibachi table that was set up like a bench, so I had to awkwardly get down with my short dress, 2) the wait staff took a long time to bring alcohol to the table and to remove empty dishes. Otherwise, PERFECT evening."

  • "We had reservations at 945, so we needed to wait a few minutes in the bar area. We ordered simple drinks and they were nit that good. One in the party ordered daiquiri and I notices one bartender pour liquor into glass and then blend the mix. The other bartender poured the mix into a glass and was confused when I told her there was no liquor in the drink. The two bartenders didn't seam to talk or work together. The food was great but will pass on drinks the next time."

  • "I made a reservation for 9:45 and we weren't seated until 10:25 (after I inquired about the wait time). The waiting room was very large so I got the impression a long wait might be the norm. Once we were seated thing were very good. We were asked to remove our shoes but it wasn't mandatory. The chef was very engaging. Even though we were seated with three other couples there was enough space so we could have our private space. It was a different dining experience and we enjoyed it!"

  • "I will always say if you want romantic dining with an amazing atmosphere, KOBES is the way to go. I have been dining there since I was 7-8 years old. Started as a once to twice a year tradition with the parents to now the same with the wife. The portions are larger than most hibachi styles with a decent price to boot."

  • "The food was great but the service was a little slow. also their was a group of collage kids that sat at the table across from us that were very loud and distracting. They kept banging on the table saying soki soki shot shot and splashing there drinks all over the place. we were there trying to have a nice dinner. we were not at a frat house. All in All the food was fantastic and i will def come again. By far my favorite hibatchi place. Oh and BTW or server wasnt the reason our service was slow. we waited almost 40 min for the chef came out. not sure if there was a shortage on chefs or the fact that it was busy. Server was fantastic. she was so sweet!"

  • "It was the best steak and shrimp I've ever eaten. The food, all of it, was delicious. My dining experience was depreciated by the restaurant running behind schedule. My reservation for for was for 7:15 p.m., and we arrived at 6:45 p.m. However, we were not seated until 8:15 p.m. Otherwise, Kobe Steaks would be five stars."

  • "It is a busy time of year for us so to get a chance to take my wife out was great. I like steak so I picked Kobe Steakhouse but their is enough verity on the menu that my wife had a lot to pick from. The people that we sat with for dinner were nice and great company. The chief was very enjoyable kept us entertained. It could have been a little warmer inside but it was very cold outside."
