  • "The food was good, the service was a bit on the slow side, but not bad. Wish we didn't have to share a table with a family of 5 celebrating a birthday. But I guess that's what we get for being a party of 2 just trying to have a nice dinner before a 2 hour drive home. Oh well."

  • "We chose this based on reviews and were looking for a fun last night place to go with our kids age 8 & 12. Our only minor "complaint" is that our reservation was at 7:30 but we didn't get started until 8 pm. The chef was great and the servers were attentive. The food was also very good with generous portions - so much that we each left half on our plates. The kids loved the koi pond also. We would recommend this to anyone and the prices were reasonable too - much cheaper than the same place at the JW Marriott."

  • "Me and my wife were seated and they brought us soup and waiter dumped the whole bowl of HOTT soup in my lap and splattered onto my wife. I was looking forward to this becouse I have never been to anything like this before.the HOTT soup Put red marks on my legs and wife's arm. It was our 2year anniversary and they brought us cheese cake and when they lit the candle they caught the umbrella on fire. The only good thing about this nite was the food. Will I come back to this place? NO !! Ruined my nite with clothes sticky and wet. If I were asked by anyone if they should go to this restutaunt, I would probably tell them no. Manager offered us free drinks but I don't drink."

I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a quit date night alone with your honey, but if you are looking to laugh, have a good time, meet new people and have show with dinner this is the place to go."

  • "Nice restaurant. Made reservation. They put us with a family with very young children that cried. Asked for a different table. We would have to wait. That just seemed wrong to us. There should be a couple section and a family section we would think. Ate and left. Didn't enjoy the show due to distractions."

  • "This is always such a fun place to go. You are entertained by your Teppan Chef as he prepares your meal before you. The atmosphere is always festive and lively. This is a perfect place to take younger children as they will "ooooo" and "ahhhhh" as they watch the chef perform. The food is always good, albeit perhaps a little too much food but I'm not complaining. While you might have a little "sticker-shock" when you get your bill, when you stop and think about the entertaining meal and evening you've just had, you'll quickly be comfortable with the price. This should be on your restaurant list at least once when you come to visit the desert"

  • "After having been to any Japanese steakhouses I know what I like and what I don't. Kobe had all the good with none of the bad. A funny (extremely!!) chef who had a joke at every turn but was not intrusive. He also happened to make excellent food! Loved every aspect except it was a little on the pricy side even for a steakhouse. We would still go back."

  • "Loved the coy pond/japanese garden area out front, and they have a seperate lounge area for those that have to wait. I set a reservation and was about 10 minutes early. Checked in and was offered the lounge area while they got ready for us. Had just enough time to order 1 drink and was promptly seated and served. Enjoyed all the food and the show, but wish my chef was a bit more energetic himself. Other than that the dinner was amazing and I will be visiting again soon."

  • "Our dining experience on a Saturday evening was not a positive one. The noise levels were close to abusive and the "birthday band" was annoying: it felt like we were in a rodeo crowd. Also tossing food into the mouths of guests seems weird at best. We have been to Japanese restaurants before and enjoyed the experience-enviroment, but Kobe isnt the atmosphere we were hoping for."

  • "This was our second time dining at Kobe. The first time, the food and service was good, but the restaurant was smoky due to poor ventilation. This time, was a DISASTER! Not only was the ventilation still a problem, it was much worse. At one point, we could hardly breathe due to smoke from the cooking blowing directly in our faces. The issue became so bad that one of us went to speak to the manager. The other in the party, noticing that the manager was not being cooperative, went up to add additional comments. Still getting resistance, we pushed further. To their credit, they did not charge us for our meal in the end and offered to pay our dry cleaning bill. In addition, the chef was not very entertaining."

  • "Took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day and what a treat! We loved the Japanese gardens and koi pond in the front and then when you're inside, everyone is so friendly. The food was fantastic and the cook was great. Definitely recommend!"

Our chef seemed to be going through the motions. He was a little difficult to understand, and nothing was out of the ordinary. The experience was "ho-hum". I'm a senior, and I certainly cannot invasion the young 20/30-something crowd enjoying this atmosphere."

  • "After being seated we had to wait for over one hour for an "available chef" to come and cook at our teppanyaki table. Then when they fixed the food, two of our party did not get any chicken (they didn't prepare enough) so we had to wait another several minutes for the kitchen to bring some out - by that time everyone else was done eating and the plates were being cleared. No one even apologized or offered us a discount or anything. We doubt we will be coming back to this location."

  • "I have been a regular of Kobe's for years. The last two visits have been miserable. Starting with the hostess bring rude, to the waitress confusing our order and responsible for us getting prawns instead of what we ordered. The entertainer/ chef was awful!! Part of going to Kobe's is the entertainment! This man did not speak to any of us. While the chef next to us had his patrons rolling with laughter. After years of enjoying Kobes, I will not return."

  • "Our party of four had a great time with chef Hata who was hilarious. We had to wait a while to be seated ( it was a holiday ) but once seated we were taken excellent care of by the staff. Food is always fresh and delicious - love the garlic spicy fried rice!!! Sushi is also a hidden gem here. If you are looking for a fun, entertaining and yummy place to eat Kobe is a go to spot here in the Desert."

  • "This was our third time in 3 years and Kobe has become our Christmas Holiday dinner tradition. It is always fun and entertaining, and the food and service - exceptional! The bartender even contacted the hostess station when he saw that we had been waiting at the bar a little longer than our reservation time. He was kind enough to let us know that our table was pending (the prior customers were lingering at the table) and it would be a few minutes longer. We appreciated his thoughtfulness and we were aware that it was a holiday, so it was absolutely fine. This restaurant is definitely a great find! We highly recommend Kobe!"

  • "The problem started when we had seen the sizes of our steak. We knew straight away it was not 10 oz. We asked the chef as well, who said it was around 6-7 oz. Therefore we called the manager to explain our problem. Unfortunatelly the young manager had no idea, that our order size how big should be. He wanted to give us 15% discount straight away, we did not accept that, because our aim was to let him know that all of the costumer had been fooled. He could not understand this. It was a very disapointing night, we would never reccomend anybody to visit this place."

  • "The food was quite good as was our teppan chef. The exterior of the restaurant is beautiful. But, I was greatly disappointed in the interior atmosphere. For the price, I would expect a more traditional Japanese dinng experience. Instead, we got a combination sports bar/ Chucky Cheese atmosphere with screaming kids and football fans (no, I don't hate kids or football). But it would be nice if the adults exercised some control. To be fair, this was our first visit to this reataurant and so we were expecting something very different. In the future we'll probably confine our teppan dining experience to Tanaka of Tokyo."

  • "We have been coming to Kobe's for many years. It has always been a fun dinner. This visit was not good. Maybe they are under new management but our experience was very different this time. The cook had no idea what he was doing. Never interacted with us. That is half the fun. We waited at the table 30 minutes before we had to get a waiter. I hope they get their act together. The food was good even though they stopped serving the bean sprouts dish."

  • "We went there for a birthday celebration and we were so sorry we did. To start they seated us a half an hour late. Food at the cooking table was tasteless, and under cooked. Shrimp tasted metallic , and frozen, and the filet was under cooked. The cooking chef was sloppy and flinging food every where, and not on purpose I can assure you. On a 1-10, let's just say for $250.00 it's a 2"

  • "The menu has changed to eliminate the vegetables that are important to fully enjoy the food. Namely-Zuchinni & bean sprouts,mushrooms., These are the best part of the menu, they have eliminated. I may not go there as a result of this..Other patrons we spoke to agreed. Increase the price but don't remove the better part of the food preperation. This is very short sighted,many restraurants have failed as a result of changes as this."
