Under the direction of new owner Frank Dougherty, the legendary Knife & Fork has just completed an extensive renovation aimed at restoring and enhancing this Atlantic City landmark. Featuring a brand new, state-of-the-art kitchen, expanded bar and lounge area, as well as ocean views from the main dining rooms, the Knife & Fork is once again the place to see and be seen in Atlantic City. The Knife & Fork's new menu, featuring the finest steaks and seafood prepared on a wood-fired grill, is complemented by an extensive wine list and 10,000 bottle wine "cellar." Naturally we went back again this July 17. Omar was beyond fantastic and we were lucky enough to Heidi from last year . Makes it so nice when people remember you and you can talk and catch up. The food is above and beyond fantastic. Every single dis is delicious. We highly recommend the knife and fork."

We were delighted to see that we had the same waiter from three years ago, and he was just as pleasant and, as any good server does, elevated a great dining experience to an outstanding one.   • "I have dined at the knife and fork for 30 years. As a child I went with my father. I have had some amazing dinners there over that time. I now live about and hour and a half from the restaurant. Last year I went with my husband and it was sooo perfect. Perfect food, perfect service, perfect seat, perfect weather. It was very romantic. I was hoping to relive that night again but this past Tuesday night it was stormy and raining, our seat was eh, the noise level was high, my lobster dinner was cold, his filet too done and neither had tasted as good as it had before but the service was still good. We will go back again tho because everyone is entitled to a bad night;)"

  • "Arrived for our reservation on time party of 2 7PM. Told table would be ready shortly. Another party of 2 for same time arrived shortly after us and was seated immediately. Ordered a couple of steaks. They were tasteless and dry. We said something to waiter who brought over manager. Manager took steaks back to kitchen. He returned shortly with an appology saying somehow steaks missed seasoning process. Steaks were removed from bill. If I had to guess I would say steaks were defrosted in microwave causing them to be so tasteless and dry. Also ordered potatos au Groton with goat cheese also bland. It was a waste of a evening. Would never never return."

  • "The food was excellent. The other individuals and myself included were stunned, regarding the quality of the food and how it was cooked. Seafood was fresh and the steaks were perfect! The prices are even reasonable, although I would not mind spending a "boat load" on dinner at this establishment. It truly was one of the best restaurants I ever ate at, and I already want to go back! If you haven't been, go! The Lobster Thermidore is amazing!"

  • "Classic old restaurant revived by new owners. Good food with seafood done right. Appetizer specials of seared scallops topped with lump crab and soft shell crab done two ways were outstanding as was a special of local fluke topped with shrimp. The signature Knife and Fork price fixed special consisting of crab & corn chowder, tomato & mozzarella salad and lobster thermador with a 6oz filet is a good bargain. The only negative for us was that my wife's salmon was a tad bit dry. To their defense, our server did advise that chef's preparation was cooked medium and my wife prefers her salmon a little more medium rare and allowed the chef prep. Her error. Otherwise, a very good restaurant with a great pedigree. You'll enjoy your experience."

  • "We always come to this restaurant when we stay in Cape May. My filet was cooked perfectly as ordered. I did not think I could eat it all, but it was delicious and I did! My husband ordered the pork chop and hid disappeared, too. We shared the goat cheese potatoes and I would order again. We were too full to order dessert and sorry because they are homemade. The service is wonderful. They make you feel special."

  • "A 70th birthday celebration was all that we had hoped it would be - fun with delicious food and good conversation. The oysters were fresh and briny; the salads were varied and tasty; and the tuna tartare was a treat. Soft shell crabs turned out to be the winning entree, although the halibut came in a close second. Thanks to our server, Casey, the cocktails started off the evening with a reak kick and we never stopped going from there. he was very attentive, professional and helpful. We will be back."

The food was outstanding and so was the service. The server overheard my birthday toast to my daughter and at the end of the meal, much to our surprise she brought her a cupcake with a candle. As we were leaving the manager wished her a happy birthday. It was wonderful."

  • "Waitress was excellent, she was busy but her service was great. She was very friendly and never cut us short. Food was ok. No one really raved about their dinner for the price we payed. I had veal chop stuffed with broccolili. Veal was very hard to cut. Don't know why. Had blueberry tart dessert but the crust was so hard I could not cut it, had to chop it with my fork. I've been to knife and fork 3-4 times and enjoyed the food but I rated my meal about 3star. My friends took their meals home. The filet and lobster meals were not that large that they could not eat them, don't know why they didn't finish them. They said the meal was excellent but they were full but still ordered dessert. I will come back because I really enjoy the ambience"

My husband had the recommended PorterHouse Steak and he said it was just o.k. I had the chicken because I do not eat red meat and it was good but nothing special."
