Diner Reviews
  • "This is not my first time dining at The Knife and Fork and I will continue to visit this restaurant as often as possible because I enjoy the atmosphere, service and the food. I just wish I could afford to come here more often."

  • "Knife and Fork has to be THE spot for fine dining in Atlantic City. We have been there as a couple and with small groups (4-6 people) and every time was a great experience. The servers are always very personable and knowledge about the menu and the wine selections. Ambience is is very nice and classy without being stuffy."

  • "I'm a 67 year old black man. We were told as kids we could not eat at this restaurant. Times have change my wife when there one day that her job was having something there. She had a good time told me about how good the food and the service was. So when there on a date had a good time then when to Dock's for some music . My good friend was the musician there. So we had a great date. Thank you so much for a good time. We will come back again but Dock's is her favorite"

  • "No wonder its been around for 102 years, this restaurant offer superb dining from soup to nuts. Best and largest lump crabmeat I ever had. ordered the appetizer and French onion soup, then had the reef and beef filet and lobster tail with sautéed crabmeat and wow. my son had the 18oz lobster tail with the crabmeat also. excellent wine list and beer selections, tried a triple ale from belgum and it was perfect. Now this does not come cheap but to be so satisfied with what was served I would definetly go back and recommend this to friends. simply excellent and extravagant only complaint was I asked if they could make oysters rockafeller, they serve oysters, but the waitress said no without checking with some else which I though was strange"

  • "This is an old time establishment that has been brought to contemporary standards. Really good food, great ambience and an atmosphere that brings back the golden days of Atlantic City. I Highly recommend it."

  • "Best restaurant in Atlantic City.....Food is absolutely superb! Can't wait to go back..."

  • "Been hearing a lot about this place so we made reservations and it was a whole lot of expensive nothing. We had two knife and fork dinners--lobster thermidor and filet. And one halibut and one crab cake with a side of lobster risotto. The one filet was over-cooked as was the crab cake and the halibut. Lobster Risotto was way over seasoned and the lobster flavor was greatly overshadowed by everything else going on--it was not edible. The best part was the staff...very friendly and engaging. But the place itself seemed old in every way."

  • "Our waitress was very pleasant and knowledgable about the menu, as well as very attentive. Although all food is cooked to order our meals came out very quickly! Very pleasant experience, will go there again."

  • "From the moment we entered, the staff was courteous and prompt. The menu offered something for everyone in our party. The chef did an outstanding job with presentation and flavor. Our server never missed a step, clearing and serving at just the correct pace. We look forward to our next visit!!"

  • "Everything about this restaurant was very good. Most notable was the bottle of wine they had on special. The lobster thermidor is outstanding."

  • "My wife and I were in Atlantic City for a few nights to celebrate my birthday. We stayed at the Golden Nugget but wanted to eat "local" instead of in a casino. Our dinner at the Knife and Fork was wonderful. They have a great selection on the menu, had some great specials, and had a nice wine list. Our dinners were great. The appetizers and salads were fresh and tasty and our main courses were excellent. The service was five-star and we were not at all rushed, spending over two hours at dinner. It has valet parking and a nice bar to complement the restaurant. You will enjoy your meal at the Knife and Fork!"

  • "Did not review dinner on 12/29 with my two married daughters. Was our annual father/daughter holiday treat for them. We were there on a quiet Sunday at 6:00 and the place was, as always, busy. Reception, service, food, drink pours, presentation, all way above average. Back again with my wife and another couple 2 weeks ago, again absolute perfection."

  • "we were very disappointed in our meals. filet mignon was dry with no taste - side vegetable was 2 spears of broccli rabe the best thing was the dessert for the price we paid it wasn't worth it"

  • "Had an early dinner on a Saturday night prior to a show. The ambience was very nice and the food was very good depending upon what you ordered. I had the salmon which was prepared excellent and tasted great. My husband had the crab cake. The good thing about the crab cake was that it was prepared with hardly any bread and mostly lump crabmeat, however, it lacked taste. It could have been seasoned better for a much more enjoyable taste. We ordered the side of asparagus hollandaise, which again lacked taste and could have been prepared much better. We did enjoy the service and ambience and the salmon was very good. Perhaps the steak would have been a much better option over the crab cake."

  • "The four of us were there to celebrate a birthday. The two who ordered steak were well satisfied, including the made-to-order Bearnaise. The rack of lamb was savored. The crab cake was all crab, no filler. The vegetables were outstanding: asparagus, beer-battered string beans, goat cheese au gratin potatoes, and best of all, the potato chips(?). And then they brought out a small cake and candle. A lovely dinner!"

  • "What does it tell you when a restaurant survives over a century? The knife & fork consistently hits the mark of great service and fantastic food. Whether you have seafood or steak it is always perfectly prepared, and while you are there remember to sit by the windown and take in the beautiful view of the Atlantic."

  • "The beet chips which I always order where limp and a little greasy. I also ordered the crab and corn soup. It came without a soup spoon which I had to go and get myself in that the wait staff was absent for several minutes."

  • "Simply, a grand experience. The drinks were perfection and the food was great for the very reasonable prices. Will return again and again."

  • "To say the Knife & Fork Inn was great is not enough! I always take the Friday of Restaurant week off so I can treat myself and usually a family member to what I believe is a fantastic "Old school" lunch with a touch of the "new" thrown in. The green salad was just enough the walnuts a great touch, the salmon was outstanding and the three mini desserts; delightful!! (I do eat here a few times in the summer but then one must share with lots of folks...sigh) I wholeheartedly recommend the Knife & Fork Inn to all who enjoy great food and wonderful service!"

  • "Never disappointed. My family chose to celebrate a birthday here because the food is always good. Great appetizers and soups. True Caesar salad is always a favorite. Excellent Entrees and sides are ample with enough for the doggie bag. Of course we had to sample some desserts (with a birthday candle) to cap a wonderful birthday celebration."

  • "I went to the AC restaurant week website on Sunday 3/9 and saw the Knife and Fork listed. I had heard good things about this place. I then made a reservation for Monday 3/10 through open table. When we arrived at the restaurant, I asked where the restaurant week menu was. I was told restaurant week was over for them. I said that I had made the reservation on the Restaurant week website the day before. The waiter then had the manager speak with us. He too declined to offer us the restaurant week menu. They did not seem to interested in us and or the fact that we were there because of restaurant week. My wife has an allergy to nuts. She ordered a salad, requested no nuts, guess what was in the salad. Not going back or recommending"

  • "Filet mignon was good but bland, how much trouble would it be to drizzle a tablespoon of sauce over meat to cut the dryness. Potatoes were very plain. I have had lobster tails here in the past, that needed a sprinkle of paprika on them to give them some life, too. This new chef needs to be more aware of eye appeal/presentation and use some herbs/seasonings and PAPRIKA for color."

  • "Our original plans fell thru but were able to get a table. The neighborhood was quiet and the building was unassuming. The food was wonderful and we found a great new drink in the K&F Nightcap. Go there run quick you will not be disappointed."

  • "Very unique exterior and interior -Enjoyed hearing about history of Knife and Fork from our waitress. Drinks were delicious-Mojito and expresso martini. Sorry to say my 8 oz steak was dry and creamer brûlée dryer.:-(. Spinage salad was best item of the meal. The mashed potatoes were gritty and pasty:-("

  • "I've never been to the Knife and Fork talked four of my friends into going with me for Restaurant Week. We had to take a late reservation just to be able to experience this restaurant for the first time and I was not impressed. Food was average. My filet was overcooked and tough I've never had a filet that was tough. Service was OK nothing to brag home about."
