Not to loud that so that you could still converse easily but not so quite that everyone in the place could hear you. It had a good balance that way. The food was good and fresh. Some healthy options along with some good old fashion comfort foods. So everyone kind find what they want to eat. You can't go wrong with this place.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food - wide variety.Great food - wide variety. Very accomodating with menu preferences. Pleasant, kind staff- a pleasure to be there.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood standardThe Knickerbocker has stood up to time very well. The service is attentive. The menu has something for just about everyone and the wine list is impressive. I was there with 3 friends and we enjoyed the low key jazz after 9 PM. We were able to sit and visit until about 11 PM without anyone hassling us. I frequently enjoy the bar for a great burger and a beer.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Experience!Haven't been in several years, and the food was even better than I remembered. They still make the best churros on the planet!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMKnickerbocker's is an A+ inKnickerbocker's is an A+ in our book: excellent service, excellent food, comfortable ambiance. For chocolate lovers the souffle is an absolute must (you'll thank us!). We always leave Knickerbocker's happy.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHow delightful to have NOHow delightful to have NO blaring music drowning out conversation
on the recent Sunday evening I dined there with visiting guests-----
(other NYC restaurants should take heed)!!!
The room was completely full and the normal conversation level was just fine.
(I must also say I definitely enjoy the Friday and Saturday evenings of live jazz
that's offered about 10PM when our meal has been completed and we are
enjoying after dinner drinks).
As usual, the food was excellent and our requested booth was more than
adequate for the 3 of us to comfortably converse.
It's always a pleasure to visit this well established Village mainstay.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMbeen at Knickerboker too manybeen at Knickerboker too many times to count - steak is always amazing just love this place!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMroom is a bit stuffy and paucityroom is a bit stuffy and paucity of anything vegetarian to recommend! but if not a vegatarian3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGray dinnerEverything was great..when. We ordered the soufflé at the beginning of the meal and we didn't leave enough time for dinner as we had a show to go to they took it off the bill which we thought was very classy without even thinking twice. Waiter was great.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic meal, great service...I have lived in NYC for two years and this is now one of my favourite restaurants. My family was visiting from the UK and I saw the reviews and menu, so decided to give it a go-I'm glad I did. As soon as we walked through the door it was like we had been transported to the fifties. A proper traditional American looking restaurant little semi circle booths around the edge.Anyway the food was excellent (I had the Knickerbocker burger) and my mum's food looked great (some grilled chicken dish laid over mashed potato in a creamy mushroom sauce) Could not have been happier. The best part was that we could hear the local new yorker's saying "oooh I just love coming here.." as they climbed into a booth. that's a good sign.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything we had was great.Everything we had was great. My only gripe is that we had a table for 7 grown men and they sat us at a table that could have comfortably held 5, maybe. The food was fantastic. The t-bone, mashed potatoes, and spinach were all very good. The grilled octopus was great. Everybody enjoyed themselves, despite having to take turns eating due to the lack of elbow room.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA favorite. Very good, reliableA favorite. Very good, reliable American food in the Village. The room has a sense of tradition as the restaurant has been here for many years. Their T-bone steak is excellent. They have jazz on weekends.2/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreenwich village gemExcellent. One of the best steak restaurants in NYC. No need to go to midtown or Brooklyn.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
