  • "Our friends and we decided that we'd go with the six-course culinary adventure (is there any other way to go?) and were not disappointed, indeed we were over-the-moon. Nice wines, roasted cauliflower soup, risotto, ling cod with foie gras, bone marrow and sweetbreads, and accompanying sauces and condiments that were perfectly matched. Of course, I missed at least one dish in the foregoing, but when the food, the service, and the company is this outstanding, the luxury of the evening remains, while some of the details fade. "

  • "Had the tasting menu with treating tasting appetizer courses but when it came to the main dishes, was slightly disappointed. There was this savoury pumpkin pie made using a phylo crust which was quite large paired with veal sweetbread. The pumpkin pie overpowered the veal with too strong flavours. For the other dish there was a lamb, tenderloin on one side and panko crusted on the other paired with bread pudding. The lamb was cooked well except for the fact that it was quite fat. On the other hand, the bread pudding was quite flavourless and very doughy. Alas, the desert was an excellent pecan pie which I think helped save the meal."

Service was very long between courses for a week night. Made a reso but server did not check so my table did not get its gift."

  • "My husband and I live in Seattle and went to Vancouver for a weekend getaway. We were looking forward to our dinner at Kitsilano Daily and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was very attentive, and each course was amazing (all the way from the homemade bread served w/creamy blue cheese to the pork belly to the risotto to the lamb to our espresso!). I love a good dinner out that doesn't break the bank, and this was it!"

  • "We came to Kitsilano based on good reviews from Yelp, and it was every bit as good as everyone said. We went the day after Valentine's, so it was also nice and quiet as well - I'm not sure if it is always like that. But the food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the wine selection from the Okanagan valley in BC; I have yet to see many of those wines in Portland, OR so that was a special treat as well. Bottom line, if you want a great meal and don't mind spending the $$, come here and you'll enjoy it for sure!"

  • "This is our second time to KDK. I would have given 5 stars but there were a few minor things that were out of place. Service was a teeny bit slow at the top, but was very attentive after that. The server made an excellent wine suggestion that my husband enjoyed immensely (me, not drinking). We opted for the 6-course adventure menu. First course was a cauliflower soup, a little too salty, with hair-like fibres still in it. I knew it was edible, but it still feels strange in the mouth and we were pulling fibres off our tongues. Would have liked those strained out. Everything else was lovely with beautiful presentation and complex flavours. I was full by course 4, but made it to the end. Portions are healthy. Will definitely go back!"

  • "I had been here before a while ago and I was very impressed with the food at the time. I decided to give it another go during valentines day. They called me up to inform me that it was a set 4 course meal for valentines day, I said sure why not. That was probably my biggest mistake. The service itself was quite good, as was the ambience. But the food (which arguably is the most important part of eating out at a restaurant) was not to the same standard as what I had before. The entire meal was a let down, I would probably pass if given the chance to go again in the future."

However, we were there on Valentines day and the restaurant appeared to have overbooked and the service staff was obviously overstretched. Our set meal was not rushed (I think the kitchen was also busy getting food out), however once done our desert, we were given our bill and not offered a drink/ coffee. The service was disappointing given the cost of our bill. We would like to give it a try again, however not on a busy day like Valentines."

  • "I was expecting quality, inspirational culinary experience, even if it is a casual presentation. But it was very typical and no theme or statement found behind it. Soup and sauce were not properly prepared, lots of skin and residues left in your mouth. Duck was very tough and chewy, beef as well lots of tendon which was not yet tendered. 3 rotation on the valentains day was too optimistic and greedy. Server picked up dropped folks on the floor in front of customers and put it back. It did not meet least standard as a decent level restaurant. Very disappointed, unfourtunately."

We ordered the six course culinary adventure and the tastes, presentations, the main features and the aromas were all deliciously stellar. The evening's dishes included butter basted arctic langoustine wrapped in sole, Mt. Lehman duckling ravioli, sweetbreads and "low + slow" braised oxtail, stuffed lamb chops, rare seared white tail deer and dessert -- an extraordinary culinary experience, that was innovative but yet very comfortable."

  • "This is my second visit and it seems the quality of food has gone downhill. We ordered the Seared Scallop in Tom Yum Broth and the Winter Salad as appies. The scallop was delicious but we got only one piece for $14, and the broth didn't compliment the scallop at all. The Angus Steak was very salty (ok in the centre portion). We let the server knew about this and she said "thanks for letting us know" and did nothing about it. The Pan Seared salmon was decent but it was too oily. Finally, our dessert was a slice of Lemon pie which was ok but nothing special about it. Our bill came to $100+ excluding drinks and tips."

Ordering was quick, service was unobtrusive, with interesting explanations of what we were eating. EXCELLENT basil martini - highly recommend. The chocolate cheesecake with brownie crust was best cheesecake I've ever had. I can't wait to see what's on the menu next time we go out!"

  • "We have eaten at the Daily Kitchen several times now and have never been disappointed. Love the concept of local, fresh and organic where possible. Most recently we had the four-course winter special. Each course WAS "special" -- unusual and delicious. We had the suggested wine pairings also, and liked them very much. Our server was engaging and very knowledgeable without being too much of a presence. He also turned down the rather windy air conditioning/fan as soon as we asked. Our only complaint, and all at the table agreed, was that the portions were a bit skimpy. Both the battered fish and lamb were served in very small portions. The lamb should have been doubled. Nonetheless, we will undoubtedly be back again!"

  • "Took my family to the Daily Kitchen for a special family celebration ... the experience BLEW OUR MINDS. We opted for the tasting menu "culinary adventure" which was insanely well priced ... six courses for $65 pp. No one single course was itty bitty or boring ... one after another they just got better and better. Finally, my sister couldn't help herself any longer and we started to photograph the plates. She actually went back to the kitchen afterwards to HUG the chef! We laughed and laughed with the staff, were waited on hand and foot ... terrific drinks ... fabulous wine. It was beyond impeccable ... it was a genuinely special and memorable evening."

  • "We tried and tasting menu and it was one surprised course after another, the only drawback was the sweetbread which was tasteless and lacked of seasoning. The sour dough cake was a bit too dry. Otherwise the service was outstanding and despite a big party, my friend and I were able to talk without raising our voice. Will try again in the future."
