A word from Kitchenette
Kitchenette is a family run bistro, which uniquely combines slick and modern with classic and comfortable. From our food to the setting to the music we play; we are committed to having fun.
We offer upscale and updated traditional dishes. Every ingredient is fresh from the market and treated with respect and care. Every presentation is clean and relevant.
Our decor denotes our cuisine with contemporary furnishings resting in antiquity; century-old wooden floors, leather banquette, Italian bent-wood chairs, crispy white napkins on solid maple tables, unique artisanal lighting and antique barstools all surrounded a shiny new open kitchen.

Second time and a success again.
The food is great and service is once. A lot quieter than downtown during the F1 parties! Will always come back."

but would not exist if the big
Radio Canada tower wouldn't be there...so on week-end, you are going there only for the food...which worth to go.."

We arrived at our reservation time
and were seated. The host wasn't sure where we were to be seated - too bad. However, he was very attentive thereafter, ensuring the food and service was to our satisfaction. My guest ordered the duck, which they were out of, then the blackened halibut and the steak & frites. I ordered the short ribs. Each dish was served hot and well presented. Each of us raved about the flavours and taste. The ribs were tender and flavourful without being tough. The halibut moist and superbly seasoned together with brussel sprouts and a sweet potato puree. The steak & frites, well what con one say - the fries were cooked perfectly and salted just right, the steak was server cooked to order, medium, and hot. I recommend."

I expected a better dining
experience. Some menu items were not available - waitress should have told us before ordering. Received a Bloody Cesar that a rookie mixologist would not make. Desserts were very tasty, but an overall disappointment"

Hadn't been here for awhile, but
the food was just they way we remembered.... Amazing. We enjoyed everything we ate. The service was great."

I took my wife to Kitchenette to
celebrate her birthday. We really enjoyed our night. the food was fantastic and the staff made her night very special."

Went on a special deal coupon.
Food was delicious, service was very good and menu was interesting. Dessert was out of this world! But a basic pizza at $26 was very overpriced!.So enjoy but be prepared for a sizeable bill"

This little gem of a restaurant is
located on the corner of Panet and Renee Levesque in the Village. I thought it was a fantastic experience except for finding parking which can be difficult on the weekends. I have been to this restaurant two times and both times I really enjoyed my experience. In all I've tried the tuna nachos, japanese taco, the green salad, butternut squash soup and bass. My favs are the nachos and taco but all are delicious! The food is really tasty, reasonably priced and the service is courteous and informed. I even booked through vieurbaine's accessresto and saved 20% right off my bill! I recommend to anyone looking to dine well without having to take a hit to your wallet! You won't be disappointed."

The food was very good, the
service friendly, the choices limited but sufficient. Parking is the biggest problem."

On Valentine's day, arriving at
the restaurant, we were asked for our reservations, but the place was pretty empty, which we thought was a bit odd. Okay, it is located a couple of corners from Ste-Catherine street, and it was snowy outside, but still I'd anticipated more activity on such a night. The service was moderately slow throughout the meal, they even forgot that we had ordered a bottle of wine, and opened it after the main course was served. The food was okay - we both had a variety of burrata, and I think the chili compote was the highlight of the meal. The main course of Cioppino was a disappointment. Muddled flavors and gritty seafood, and the fish was overcooked. And the bill did NOT reflect our experience. Disappointing."

This place is only worth a few
words... If you want to dish out an easy 150$ for 2 (without deserts/coffee)... and feel like you got robbed in quality and taste... well go ahead. There is too many great spots in MTL to end up spending time in Kitchennette. Sorry guys, you need to revamp and take care of the food you serve."

Nous étions quatre a table pour ce
repas. Notre reservation etait a 19h30. Dommage...."

Slow service, we had to call the
waiter to our table several times. Food, wine and other drinks are overpriced. Disappointing."

Very simple... Great food, amazing
service, not overly busy, excellent atmosphere. Highly recommended."

Great little neighbourhood
restaurant. Food was delicious and the service outstanding. We will be going again soon to try more of the menu."

We reserved via OpenTable on a
Friday night not knowing what to expect! What an amazing experience that was, everything was perfect from A to Z."
Dined on 11/8/2013
I have enjoyed the food
kitchenette for several years. Although the menu is quite similar to the previous owners I feel that the new owners need to find their stride. I will definitely be back in a few months to see where they are then"

It's all american cuisine, mainly
southern. It's delicious, but I had the japanese taco as appetizer and for the price, it was only a small taco as my supper partners had soup, fried green tomato and crab cake and portion were much better. It was 2 crab cake, good flavor (I don't even like crab cake usually.) So it had it's hit and miss. It was mainly hit, but if it was a tiny bit cheaper it would be perfect."

A group of six of us stopped by
Kitchenette for a nice dinner prior to a night out on the town. We had a great time, loved the food, and really appreciated the kind and attentive service. The specials are pricey but well worth it!"

The lobster roll was generous, the
lobster eas perfectly cooked and it tasted great! I tried mane ones this summer in Maine but this one was #1!"

We enjoyed this place; not too
busy so the lull in service was noted but not irksome. the food was very good. Crab cakes, fried squid, japanes taco apps shared among us. The squid was a tiny bit salty but other than that, very good apps. We had shorts ribs, salmon (special of the night), swordfish, and cioppino. They only had two servings of salmon so swordfish was ordered as replacement. Everyone enjoyed their food. Drink selection was ok, nothing terribly notable. Their bourbon lemonade was very good. Dessert was exceptional. The bread pudding was divine and the cracker jack toffee sundae excellent. One of us even ordered a dessert to go for the next day. I would recommend this place and we would certainly go again given the opportunity."
Dined on 9/11/2013
Food was good. service was not up
to par with the reputation of the restaurant and certainly not at the level of what I had the previous time I went there. It would be in the interest of the restaurant to add more new meals to the menu on a regular base."
Dined on 9/11/2013
My experience at this restaurant
was okay. The food is very good but the service is so terrible it doesnt make you want to go back. The waiters are rude. They do not bring water to the table nor bread (we had to ask for them twice). And they would NEVER come to the table . Overall good food, but you feel so insulted by the lack of service that it doesnt make you want to return"

I'm not going to lie, I went back
to Kitchenette mainly for the dessert. I had been dreaming about the Bread Pudding and the Sticky Toffee Pudding since my last dinning experience at the restaurant back in December, and so for my birthday, it was the obvious choice. And boy let me tell you it did not disappoint. We shared the two desserts between 3 of us and it was more than enough. That said, the portions did seem smaller than last time (or maybe it was that I didn't want them to end). So good!"
Dined on 8/23/2013
Used to be good, but no more.
Pulled beef taco and the Burrata entree were good. Short Beef ribs were devoid of any taste. The evening special called surf and turf was incredibly disappointing. It consisted of blackened scallops lying on a base of creamed corn with a slice of corn bread on which maple infused foie gras mousse had been spread. The foie gras mousse was overpowered by the maple sirop and was much too sweet. The corn bread had no taste and the creamed corn as well. I love foie gras and this was a major disappointment. I mentioned it to the waiter gently after having paid and while leaving but it appears that I am the only one who has ever had a poor experience...according to him."

The best side salad I had the
whole time I was in Montreal. The lettuce tasted like lettuce- so fresh like the grew it in the back garden (well somebody's back garden). This restaurant is a lovely neighbourhood-y gem. Simple, unfussy farm-to-table food prepared with thought and care using local ingredients. Service was very friendly and helpful. A large party (like 20+ showed up as we were finishing our meal which made the place a little noisy, but prior to that, the dim lighting, simple clean decor and ambiance was very relaxed. Our table for two even had upholstered leather armchairs!"

We are returning customers to
Kitchenette and are NEVER disappointed. The food is always top notch and the service friendly and helpful. The focus on quality seasonal ingregients and excellent preparation is a combination that Kitchenette serves up in spades. Everything is delicious!"

Poulet frit, short rib, pullpork,

I highly recommend this place! The
service was spectacular and the food was amazing! My 9 year old son loved his crab cakes and lobster and black truffle pizza! It was our first night in Montreal, visiting from Saskatoon, and by far, no where else we dined while vacationing there, even compared to Kitchenette! Thank you for indulging, and satisfying, this foodie from Saskatchewan...I will definitely be back!"
Dined on 7/6/2013
We were hoping for an innovative
and interesting dining experience and were far from disappointed. From the moment we entered and were pleasantly greeted by the staff our visit was one we will remember. Our excellent waiter guided us to some of the best dishes we have tried in a long time. The Tuna tartare was superb and the Japanese Taco was unbelievably delicious. Our main courses of Braised Short Ribs and Fried Chicken, both recommendations from our waiter, were both fantastic. We will definitely be going back for more."

Been here every time we are in
Montreal, and always love it - food is great, service is friendly, and I even like the out of the way location."

from start to finish. service was
incredible. bar staff super sweet. we had the nachos beach style, and the soup - superb. followed by the brisket (salivating), the lobster pizza (delicious) and the sweet potato taters. the dessert - blew us away. good job"

As usual Kitchenette does not
disappoint. If you looking for a low key place to eat where the food is always good, this is the place."

Was there on a Wednesday - only 2
other tables. Not having bubbles and wanting something round, the waiter opened a Sancerre which is not served by the glass - Excellent. The food was amazing, the combinations very creative and worked in every instance. Highly recommend the smoked mackeral. We wanted 2 desserts and the waiter advised 1 would suffice. We went with the sticky toffee - WOW! We very much appreciated the waiter having us discover a new sweet wine from Oka - delicious. We will be back. Thank you for a successful birthday dinner."

I have been there 3 times, twice
for business and once with my wife. Great food and not your usual menu - very creative but delicious choices. Very highly recommend it!"
