KitchenGreat team based service,Great team based service, decor is creative and creaties an intimate ambiance, menu is creative, food was delicious and well cooked. Enjoyed the Under the Glass, Bacon wrapped scallops and the Tournedos Rossini & Crispy Half Duck (portions were generous).4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWould recommend - delicious!I came here for the first time with a friend for brunch. We both decided on the biscuits and gravy which came with shoestring fries. Everything was absolutely delicious. All of the recipes appear to be very old, and the restaurant and very nice classic sort of feel to it. Its not a large place, so its probably better for just a few friends rather than a a large gathering, but when the weather is nice, they have a greenhouse out back and sidewalk seating out front.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMKitchen is a charming littleKitchen is a charming little place and the food was mostly successful. We shared a delicious salad "salat" which was a nice departure from the usual salads. We particularly liked the slivered candied orange rind- a unique and refreshing change. Another appetizer we really enjoyed was the wild mushrooms and oxtail under glass. My husband had the lobster "casserole" which was rich and delicious and lighter than the more traditional version and included spinach and great gnocchi. My entree was the disappointment- it was a newer addition to the menu of homemade toasted flour tagliatelle with morels and ramps. The morels were gritty and tasteless as was the sauce. I would not recommend it and hope they improve the dish as it has potential!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe anjoyed the "RestaurantWe anjoyed the "Restaurant week Menu"...otherwise this restaurant would be rather expensive.
Anyway,Kitchen is worth of any special occasion.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch at Kitchen was delicious.Brunch at Kitchen was delicious. The homemade muffins were wonderful and we all enjoyed our entrees (particularly liked the breakfast sandwich). The dates/history on the menu is a fun touch and the restaurant has a great vibe, especially with the music choices and the display of whichever record is currently being played. Would definitely come back!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and attentive service!Great food and attentive service! If you want a fabulous meal, the Kitchen is the place to go. The everything we ate was cooked perfectly! Our party started out with the mussel, crab cake and the soup, then proceeded to rack of lamb, lobster Thermidor and the Rossini, finished off the meal with the chocolate flourless cake, creme brûlée and mint ice cream. Walked out discussing when and what to order next we come back.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Restaurant Week MealWent for restaurant week and LOVED it. I had the crab cake as an appetizer - it was perfect! Not too dense, packed with subtle (but proper) seasoning. Had the lamb with sauce robert for the entree. It was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was delicious. The potatoes au grautin that came with it were good, but didn't blow me away. Desert was flourless chocolate cake with chocolate sauce and ice cream. It was incredibly rich and amazing. They also had Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA on the menu (for 6.50 - they could get away with charging more), which was great.
The atmosphere is wonderful. It blends right in with the South End, and the back room, where we sat, looks out onto the gardens of nearby brownstones. The waitstaff was great.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommendedThe food was delicious and the service was great! A definite 5 stars for Kitchen! The food was exquisite, from the mushrooms under glass with braised oxtail appetizer to the perfectly done tourenado of beef with creamed spinach and super-light onion ring garnish, topped off with a creme brulee that was melt-in-your-mouth creamy after breaking through the glazed sugar topping. My server was very attentive, respectful and upbeat. What a delightful experience!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for Restaurant Week!We went for Restaurant Week! It was our first time at Kitchen. Wow! Once I had forced meats and pate I knew I had to go and try it out. So we went for Restaurant Week and the portions were large which surprised me and my partner, meat was cooked perfectly and the entire meal from begging to end with a very rich flourless chocolate cake out of this world. Can't wait to go back thank you!!!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful meal. MostHad a wonderful meal. Most extensive selection that I've seen at a "Resaurant Week" event. Interesting menu. It is a great venue to have some great food with great friends over a glass of wine (or two). I highly recommend the rack the lamb. At medium rare the meat is so tender and juicy. The sauce that accompanied the lamb just made the dish perfect.
