A word from Kitchen LTO at Trinity Groves
Kitchen LTO is a permanent pop-up restaurant that reinvents itself three times per year and gives a rotating home to up-and-coming chef and design talent and their ideas.

Essentially, the entire restaurant is “Limited Time Only” (LTO), where a new restaurant is born every four months. Three times a year, a new chef rotates in and introduces a new menu concept. Simultaneously, a new interior designer re-designs the interior’s transformable elements. Applicants will be screened by our selection committee for qualifications and then voted on through our website and social media channels, as the general public will be the ultimate deciding factor for who will chef and design the restaurant every four months.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We were looking forward to this dinner but left somewhat disappointed. Our server did not listen so one person in our party received the wrong beer followed by the wrong entree. We were able to correct him on other parts of our order before he turned in the wrong thing. The food was good not great and not really worth the price. We have enjoyed most of the other Trinity Grove restaurants but will not return to Kitchen LTO under this chef."

  • "This is the second time I've been to LTO and it was even better than before. I like the concept of changing out the chef, menu, and decor every few months. I highly recommend this place. Trinity Groves is a gem in general!"

  • "The concept is great and service is awesome, but I don't want to pay $30 for a meal and still not be full. The pork belly and egg were fantastic. It's just that the slices are 2x1 inches apiece. And it only comes with 2 slices. Salmon BLT, seared scallops, and lemon rosemary chicken were also very, very good! I loved that the salmon BLT was more like a salad with BACON-topped salmon and mayo dressing. The "bread" is just bread crumbs. Perfect for me because I actually prefer "un-wiches." So yes, the taste of everything is 100% on point, but unless you're wanting taste samples, I think you would need 2 plates per person (average of $20 per plate). They really know how to leave you wanting more... in a not so good way."

  • "This is the tail end of Eric Shelton's time at LTO. Great concept, and very good meal. The five-spice duck was outstanding. Looking forward to seeing who is next."

  • "Second visit to this great restaurant this time dining on Sunday night on their patio. The special blueberry margarita was delicious. The alvocado hummus toast with shrimp is great appetizer . The rosemary chicken, butternut risotto, salmon blt and filet mignon were all excellent. The maccaroons and bread pudding were wonderful for dessert."

  • "Had the duck breast and it was yummy! Appetizers and desserts were great. The Caesar salad was a bit dull. Very noisy as evening progressed. Go early if you want to be able to hear the person sitting next to you."

  • "I wanted to like this place so bad. The idea of providing a location with a new chef every few months seems right. The service was great but the food execution was not great at all. We went for brunch on Sunday and enjoyed the $ bloody mary's. However, the caesar salad was a giant head of romaine lettuce that looks like they just smeared mayonnaise on top. My husband ordered it with shrimp for an extra $8 and it literally were 4 mini shrimp they had split in half! I ordered the LTO burger that had no mayo, mustard or ketchup to dress it. It tasted fine but was expecting way more given the restaurant concept. Overall will not be going back."

  • "My girlfriends and I had dinner here, and it was absolutely amazing! We arrived early in an effort to have a drink somewhere else, and it was the perfect night to do so! Definitely try the rosemary chicken, roasted duck and white chocolate bread pudding - those were by far the standouts on the menu."

  • "Enjoyable after-work dinner location. Greeted and seated immediately. Waitress was very knowledgeable and confident. The food was well portioned and delicious. We will be back due to the changes in chefs each 4-month period. The art work on the wall was eye-catching and encouraged conversation."

  • "Love this restaurant! This is the first time we've experienced the latest chef and his food is wonderful and except for the pork belly small bite(bland, in my opinion). This meal was close to to perfect. we each loved what we had. Duck was great! Salmon BLT was, too. We had a blast and the chef sat down to talk to us for 10 min and is so engaging! Best luck to Eric in his future endeavors and hopefully the next chef will be as wonderful."

  • "The chef of the current quarter has produced a satisfying, light approach to fusion that you can really sink your teeth into. Lettuce cups filled with ramen, sauce and chicken meatballs made a nice starter, as did rich pork belly.Five-spice duck breast was succulent and savory. The seasonal, filled chocolate dome made an impressive meal ender--passion fruit and strawberry filling on my visit. Yum. Great wines on the list too!"

  • "I'll start by saying that my wife and I had been to LTO before (before Eric Shelton) and had a wonderful experience. We hoped the second visit would be a repeat, but both the service and food paled in comparison to what we had experienced on our first visit. We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation, but then it was mostly downhill from there. Service was incredibly slow, and there were multiple tables frantically waving at the servers and asking to speak to the manager (I saw two groups from outside walk inside to ask for a check...). The redfish special was terribly bland, and my wife's salmon was overcooked. Luckily, the LTOMG was still outstanding for dessert. Hopefully just a bad night..."

  • "I heard about this place from an online review. Had wanted to go a few times and finally made it for brunch. We started off with the avacado and shrimp hummas to share then we ended up sharing the eggs Benedict, and Chicken and waffles. The waiter had suggested adding bacon and eggs on top of the waffle. How great. I wanted to try a dessert but after the food, there just was no room. Definite will be back and would love to try sitting out on the patio if the weather cooperates. Great concept and great place!!!"

  • "Food and service was great but sitting on the patio was less than comfortable. Several groups considered the outdoor area the smoking section and ruined the otherwise great experience."

  • "It was girls night and a birthday celebration. Our server explained the concept and the menu We ordered wine , which came promptly. Our server returned, introduced us to his "assistant" who took our orders, appetizers, main courses and one side to share. Appetizers were timely. Then things started to fall apart. We had to flag someone down to get more wine We waited and waited for the main courses. They finally appeared, but the side was missing. The food was good, nice presentation. Our side finally arrived after we had finished eating. We did get a dessert comped...not sure if it was for the birthday or for the poor service. The table next to us never got their main course. Not sure if they were too busy or just disorganized."

  • "Beef minestrone, no beef in it. Never did receive my entree, fish special. Poor service because way understaffed, not our servers fault. She must have been waiting on 8 tables."

  • "My girlfriend and I decided that we would take our hubbies out for dinner. First rule...No Chili's, Cheddar's, or any place close to the chains that they usually chose. I made the decision that I would chose a new eatery for us. I went online and pulled up Margaret Hunt Bridge restaurants. I reviewed several that popped up, but was intriged by Kitchen LTO's concept. A new chef and remodeling every 4 months?? How interesting... Let's go for it! We grabbed our men and headed out. Wow!! What a dining experience! Excellent food and service, relaxed atmosphere, good wine...We enjoyed the food so much and had more fun eating out than we have in quite a while. Thank you for our dining pleasure."

  • "Let me start off by saying everything on the menu sounds a lot better than it actually tastes. We started off with the tuna tartare and "spaghetti and meatballs" for appetizers. I order tuna tartare at restaurants frequently and the one at Kitchen LTO was underwhelming at best...hardly any flavor at all. The "spaghetti and meatballs" - - Asian chicken meatballs with noodles were pretty good. For entrees, I had the chicken, with mac and cheese cake, and kale. It sounded delicious but again, was underwhelming, as was the tenderloin my dining companion ordered. Service was fine, except for the fact we had no knives for our entrees and it took forever to finally flag down another waiter to get him to bring us some."

  • "Kitchen LTO (Limited Time Offer) is a permanent pop-up restaurant that reinvents itself three times per year. The current Chef, Eric Shelton, has done an outstanding job. The FM 1410 salad had the perfect combination of pear, cheese, popped quinoa and ginger vinaigrette. My beef tenderloin was tender and juicy. The Berbere rubbed strip loin was just as juicy with a Mediterranean flavored rub. Portions are adequate without being overwhelming. A must have is the LTOMG! Chocolate Dome.. the presentation is an event in itself - just enough chocolate and just enough sauce...yummy."

  • "That was the first delight. LTO doesn't have your typical menu. It was nice to Break out of the routine. Presentation was very nice. Our server Emily was extremely well versed with the menu and her service was a joy. Having served at finer restaurants back in Chicago, it was very nice to have someone who actually knew how to wait. I only have one slight negative and that was I thought their cocktails were just a little pricey. A LITTLE BIT. Would definitely recommend it and will surely go back"

  • "Went on a date-- new experience for both of us. I'd say it was unique and a great find for a typical Friday night date. This is an excellent restaurant (particularly for a 4-mo permanent pop up) to take family and friends visiting from out of town or to celebrate an achievement with a group. Definitely will be back."

  • "Limited time only! Chef Eric is off the charts with flavor in every dish he cooks up. I have visited several times and brought friends and no one leaves disappointed! This last visit, we tried all the nibbles (appetizers), the poke belly and egg were AWESOME. We tried 4 different entrees, the 5 spice duck and the tenderloin w asparagus were perfect! There has been nothing on the menu that has disappointed us."

  • "Kitchen LTO is in the perfect spot in Dallas - The Trinity Groves area of Dallas, right off the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge on Singleton at Gulden. Long "strip" center with restaurants -- so many to pick from. Kitchen LTO stands out -- they rotate chefs and decor every 4 months. Eric Shelton is there during Spring 2014. His "award wining" entree is Salmon BLT. Very nicely done. The tuna tower is very good also with tuna, avocado rice and a sprinkle of chicken skin. Sea scallops with red quinoa is good. The pork chops are the best. Lots of very interesting and delicious desserts to pick from. The pistachio mousse cake is very good. Nice wine selection. MAKE reservations. Michael is the BEST waiter!"

  • "We love good food and frequently eat out at good restaurants. Four of us ordered Duck, scallops, salmon, and strip steak with an order of risotto for the table. Not a bite left on any plate. Everything was great. Advice.....I think the restaurant is way too Bright. Need to dim the lights for better atmosphere! Other than that, it was great."

  • "Had the Salmon BLT - nicely done and perfectly cooked. The kale salad was ok - not well seasoned -- one bite tasted like toasted sesame and the next bite mushy green glue. The dessert was original - a chocolate Orb that melts when a hot sugary sauce is poured on to it."

  • "This restaurant changes periodically and sometimes that means the kitchen and staff aren't up to speed. The food was warm at best and the service person was new and not so enthusiastic or did not feel comfortable with the menu. Other servers and bartender were more helpful . Bright note - the hostess was delightful"

  • "Trinity Grove is the new best thing to happen to Dallas. We've now been to three of the restaurants and found Kitchen LTO to be the biggest disappointment. Service was attentive, they have a reasonably priced wine list but the food was just ok. The idea to feature different chefs for a "limited time only" is interesting if it comes through....but this visit not so much so. The pork chop was ordered medium even though I asked for pink, I was told medium was the best temp, came out bland. The scallops were good but with only three to an order left me wanting. The ladies ordered the beef filet which were also bland. I will give credit for the appetizers. The pork belly was tasty but the spaghetti and meat balls were the best item on the menu"

  • "This was our second visit to Kitchen LTO. Enjoyed great food during Both visits. Had drinks and Wine during both visits but the lack of information from the server during this 2nd time caused an unpleasant surprise upon receipt of the bill. We planned to order Wine and noticed most of the choices were listed in the $40 - $50 dollar range. We asked for suggestion- server offered a Pinot Noir " that had not yet been put on the List ". so we Ordered it --- assuming it was in $40 - 50 range as majority others . Upon receipt of the bill, we found the wine to be $90. I could have asked for price but believe it is the server's job to state price of his recommendation especially with That large difference from the list."

  • "The the salad and entree were great! Loved the food and concept. Can't wait to see who will be next. The desserts were very good, so we enjoyed the entire experience. Now to make it Outstanding, there only needs to be a few updates to the desserts."

  • "All in all, the restaurant was good. The service was great, but the waitress was all about the "up sell" She would constantly try to get us to either get more wine, more appetizers, etc. etc. I got soup, and sea bass. The soup was not very good. Some kale in some hot water, with very little substance. She did take the soup back, and credited the bill. The food runners were very confused, often bringing food to the wrong tables. Oh well, I am not sure if the Limited time open concept really works that well. I'll wait for the next chef."

  • "We shared the BLT Salmon salad which was very good...salmon excellent. However, only the rim of the plate had some greens on it and they forgot the dressing. Needed more greens! We also shared the veggie flatbread and it also was very tasty with the tomato jam but the crust was soggy. Would have preferred a thiner, crisper crust. The chocolate desert was scrumptious with ice cream on top of strawberry shortcake, covered in a crusty chocolate and then warm caramel poured on top to melt the chocolate. Yum, yum!!!"

  • "My server, Mark, was very helpful and professional. His recommendation of adding foie gras to the velvet hammer was amazing! He never let my drink become empty.....and I like that! The tuna tartar was ok....kinda bland but tasted healthy. The kale salad was beautifully plated and I thought was good but maybe need a pinch of salt. Of course the velvet hammer, pork belly, was so flavorful! I loved that dish! The star of the show was thesChilean sea bass! The fish was cooked perfectly! And the accompaniments were prefect! I will defiantly be back!"

  • "The LTO in this restaurants name stands for "Limited Time Only". The primary chef is only there for 4 months. And when the chef changes, they also bring in a new designer to redo the interior. This is the second time we have gone and both experiences were great, even though it was like going to a different restaurant each time. This time Chef Erik created wonderful dishes for all courses. Overall, a great experience!!"

  • "Poor, disjointed service. The bar tender never said a word - just delivered the drink. The server was just strange - he knew the menu, but was snarky when we didn't order the dishes he recommended. It seemed like the service was staff by people who don't care. And the food? Good to very good. Nicely cooked to temp, we'll seasoned, good flavor."
