A word from Kitchen LTO at Trinity Groves
Kitchen LTO is a permanent pop-up restaurant that reinvents itself three times per year and gives a rotating home to up-and-coming chef and artist/design talent and their ideas.

Essentially, the entire restaurant is “Limited Time Only” (LTO), where a new restaurant is born every four months. Three times a year, a new chef rotates in and introduces a new menu concept. Simultaneously, a new artist transforms the interior walls. Applicants will be screened by our selection committee for qualifications and then voted on through our website and social media channels, as the general public will be the ultimate deciding factor for who will chef and design the restaurant every four months.Continued

  • "This is my 2nd time at Kitchen LTO, the first time with with different chef. Last time I did not like the place at all, food not that good and way overpriced. Unfortunately I think here on the 2nd visit we have the same situation. I will not be back for either of the chefs. Risotto: 2/5 (hated the crunchy carrot bits in it and it was not creamy like it should be) Sashimi: 3/5 (interesting and creative but small and overpriced) Bison Tartare: 4/5 (really tasty except for bread was extremely stale which might be intentional) Chilled Lobster: 3/5 (This is basically just a salad with a few tiny bits of lobster, enjoyable but boring) Service 3/5 (Our waitress was not very friendly) Atmosphere: 4/5 FOOD SOUNDS GREAT BUT USUALLY FALLS FLAT"

  • "The first night I came to kitchen lto they ran out of most of the entrees and I had the scallops, which were sandy and the purée had no flavor. The next time I had the sashimi, the lamb and the halibut. The best was the appetizers or sashimi and lamb, but they were amazing. The halibut was cooked well but no flavor."

  • "I was very excited about trying LTO out. The menu looked amazing, but the food was bland. The rellenitos had zero kick to them. The caprese was delicious, however. The worst part of the experience was the raw (pink and cold to the touch) quail. I understand that mistakes happen, but the bird was not slightly undercooked, but extremely undercooked. I would guess the interior temperature of the breast was about 80 degrees which is dangerous. I was given another dish at no charge to make up for it which was nice. I was a bit taken aback by the extremely brief (4 seconds) and insincere apology from the chef."

  • "We tried close to half of the menu, including all of the recommended "highlights". None of the dishes were spectacular, most were under seasoned and under whelming. The grilled romaine salad was probably the biggest hit at the table with balanced flavors of sweet, salty and a very tasty dressing. The entree highlight was the tenderloin, although the polenta cake was the one thing over seasoned and was on the too salty side. We skipped dessert. Also, the server treated us like a bit of an inconvenience, for example, "we've got a lot of plates coming out, you'll need to organize the table so we can fit them" - isn't that kind of their job? I'll go back for the next Chef, hopefully they'll be better."

  • "This was a great experience. Menu choices were interesting, and the food was outstanding. The service was excellent, with plenty of attention, but not to the point of being obnoxious. We had a very enjoyable time."

  • "Service was great but the food was awful. The hen was dry, cole slaw was from a prepackaged bag and the baked beans were cold and tasted like Van Camps pork and beans. The scallops were good but the side dishes were disappointing. We opted not to try a dessert."

  • "This was an ideal spot to take two work colleagues in from Chicago and New York. We were able to introduce them to a great area of Dallas, enjoy a wonderful dinner, and take in the Dallas skyline on our way back downtown. Our server - I believe her name was Zee - was fantastic. She was a great help in finding the perfect cocktails, appetizers and entrees to give us a great team dinner."

  • "We ordered a chef pared 3 course meal. Food was good and unique. Wine pours for the paring were significantly smaller than the standard pours being served by the glass."

  • "We met friends for dinner, and got there early(6:30). The service was wonderful and attentive without being hovering. The food was good except my wife's rissoto was under cooked. I know it is supposed to be al-dente, but this was a bit too much crunch. They had no problem sending it back and then taking it off the final bill. D0 NOT miss dessert! It was all wonderful."

  • "LTO is a great concept - continual pop-up. With each new chef, we get to experience an individuals professional growth and evolution of style, creativity, and expertise focused in a new direction. We have enjoyed every meal and never been disappointed with level of service. The staff are always enthusiastic and seem to enjoy the experiment."

  • "I love the concept of Kitchen LTO (Limited Time Only). I've been twice since Brooke Eggers has been in the kitchen. I loved the halibut enough the first time, I ordered it again. Javier was an attentive, knowledgeable server who couldn't have been better. The first time I went I ate at the bar - not because there weren't tables, but that's where my friend and I chose to sit. Then the bar service was spotty - like they weren't used to people eating at the bar. We had to ask for a second drink. But - this week, the service was impeccable. The restaurant treated us with an unexpected dessert - the amazing LTOMG Chocolate Dome."

  • "I like LTO for a pre-theater dinner. Uncrowded at 6:00pm and very convenient to ATTPAC via Woodall-Rogers just across the bridge. Food was interesting and good. Small portions, reasonably priced."

  • "Went for brunch with 2 freinds. Great service. Great Bloody Mary. $19 for a couple risotto, probably won't do that again. Love the concept of a rotating chef and theme. I'll go back again just to see what's changed."

  • "Wanted to check out lto. Didn't research the chef, but was excited to try a pop up restaurant. Food was NOT good. The appetizers were ok. Got the nachos and soup. Then got the risotto, which was horrible. ..not creamy or smooth. The hen, breasts were dry and the weird rosemary bread thing was gross. Then got the halibut...fishy and the quinoa and rose-like mash was nasty and not well seasoned. Ugh. Hubby got the porterhouse. ..terrible, way overcooked when requested the medium rare and way over priced. I would not recommend this place for food. The service was good but the food was terrible! They don't have high chairs so not kid friendly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone."

  • "We have dined at Kitchen LTO with every chef, since they opened. Chef Egger's food is very different. It isvery modern...the tomato caprese, more like an aspic with a gelato cheese....so if you like a twist on things, this is for you. The Rissoto was average. My friend had the Hibiscus Halibut, which looked really good. The portion size on the fish was generous. I do think this is the most expensive menu they have put out there. I thought our dinner was very expensive. Just be prepared. Two appetizers (very small portions), 3 salads, 5 entrees, 2 desserts, 2 cocktails and 3 glasses of wine was about $350....hum. Give it a try, though!"

  • "Waiter was challenged to remember how dishes were prepared, specials, etc. Better to have a cheat sheet than be incorrect. Halibut was to be grilled, it came out pure white, not a touch of brown from pan or grill. It was prepared well and tasted good. Steak was cooked properly and tasty. Grilled Romaine was soggy on outside, no grilled flavor at all. If it had been split and grilled on flat side, it would remain crisp and take on grilled flavor, and pork belly pieces were hard enough to break a tooth. Waiter tried to make up for mistakes by offering gratis dessert, but then charged us for 2 desserts, when we had not intended to order any. Good menu, good potential, work in progress. I would try again after they tweak prep/service."

  • "We dined here, 2 couples, for an evening out in the hot Trinity Groves area expecting to be blown away because of the concept of the menu changing 3 times per year. The host was very polite and energetic and we were seated right away. The table service was very curt, not super friendly but fine, just seemed rushed and annoyed to be waiting on us at all, so it was sort of hard to gauge if she was over worked or just unhappy to be there. Each dish was described well, but just fell completely short of any wow factor and was completely underwhelming. The salad we ordered with the crispy pork belly was delivered without it but they did correct nicely when we brought to their attention. Overall, I wouldn't rush back anytime soon;good location"

  • "I decided to check out this place for brunch. My server, Michael, was amazing. Very attentive and personable. The French toast was perfect. Not too much and not too little.I was worried there wouldn't be enough room for the dome. The Chocolate Dome was the perfect size. People share that?! Why?! I'll definitely be back!"

  • "We've been to Trinity Groves many times and really like several of the restuarnts. This, however, is our favorite. Every dish was fabulous from the ravioli appetizer to the fried porch chop (or steak or fish, there were four of us) to the decadent chocolate ice cream and chocolate covered fried bacon dessert. I'll figure out where chef Brooke Egger opens her next place!"

  • "I like this place because the chef changes ever 4 months after the public votes in the new one. I've had meals here multiple times with all of the former chefs and enjoyed them. This time the trip was for Father's Day brunch. The food was excellent. What wasn't excellent was the waiter service. It was among the worst waiter service I can remember. The restaurant was half empty when we got there, after taking drink orders, it took him 20 min to come back for our food orders, and it took an additional 40 min to get out brunch food. The GM and the Chef came out later to apologize and they comped our desserts, which I thought was nice. It made up for some of the bad service to some degree. The fact that the food was delicious helped a lot."

  • "We chose your restaurant as a pre-father's day celebration because my husband loves places where the chef cares about their dishes. With the changing of the chefs every few months we knew this would be a great place. We enjoyed meeting Brooke!"

  • "Kitchen LTO with current chef Brooke Egger was delicious and lovely. Chef was there and personal greeted all the tables and to talk about her experience in the pop up restaurant and her choice of food style. The servers were intelligent and extremely friendly. We were there for brunch and the menu options, despite being out of two of them, were delightful and delicious. Looking forward to returning for the next chef's dining experience"

  • "I have been to Kitchen LTO once before and really liked the food but the food last Friday night was not good at all and for the price it was quite disappointing. The appetizers were strange and not tasty, my entrée was mediocre at best and the dessert was not as good as usual."

  • "With the chef and menu constantly changing, you will never have the same thing twice at LTO (which sometimes is a shame, it's so great)! The service is fantastic, the chefs are constantly trying to impress. The ever changing means everyone is on top of their game every night. Check out the menu before you go to make sure you like the type of food. If so, you can't go wrong!"

  • "Upon arriving for a 11:30 reservation, 2 in the group said they could not be seated until entire party of 8 arrived. We are professionals, drove separate cars and arrived between 11:20-11:40. Reluctantly, the hostess sat them when the stated they would go to another restaurant.5). Waiter was rude when I inquired about an entry that I was not familiar with. Looked at me like I was an alien. Waiter was also to take orders (they were not busy and never full even when we left at 1:15). The restaurant was also out of two things that we ordered (their signature items -- one seafood and the other a dessert). Waiter gave lame excuses (they were new and just starting). The hamburger was fair. Will try again when another chef takes over in 4 months."

  • "The brunch was okay, but nothing that we thought was great. The menu is probably fine for people who eat pork and red meat, but I enjoy wonderful salads and the salad that sounded the most interesting was not being offered that day (kale). The chicken salad sandwich tasted just like any other--nothing special at all. And the pear salad with chicken was tasty, but nothing great, in our opinion. Turkey bacon would have been a nice option for the egg dishes. The coffee was wonderful and our server was very good, as well. We enjoyed the experience even though the food wasn't anything to write home about. Lovely environment on a pretty day."

  • "Both our Server and the Bartender recommended the 5 Spice Duck. I'm not usually a duck fan because I consider it too gamey but this duck was fabulous! It was tender and flavorful. The Oregon Pinot Noir on the menu was the recommended pairing and it was perfect. We had a party of 5 and our server was very attentive without being pushy. I asked how chefs were selected and when I found out diners could vote on them at specific times I signed up for the email list. I will definitely return. I like the idea of rotating chefs to keep the menu interesting! "
