A word from Kitchen LTO at Trinity Groves
Kitchen LTO is a permanent pop-up restaurant that reinvents itself three times per year and gives a rotating home to up-and-coming chef and artist/design talent and their ideas.

Essentially, the entire restaurant is “Limited Time Only” (LTO), where a new restaurant is born every four months. Three times a year, a new chef rotates in and introduces a new menu concept. Simultaneously, a new artist transforms the interior walls. Applicants will be screened by our selection committee for qualifications and then voted on through our website and social media channels, as the general public will be the ultimate deciding factor for who will chef and design the restaurant every four months.

I took my out-of-town guests here because CNN recommended it as a great concept restaurant. Turned out to be a great find! My friends were impressed by the reasonable brunch prices (everything was around $10 a plate) and the food was wonderfully executed. I chose the bacon waffle and my only complaint there was that it didn't really have a lot of bacon on it. Otherwise everything else was pretty spot on. We started out with the Landlocked "Sashimi" (wonderful salty seafood goodness) and one of my friends tried the Billion $ Burger (amazingly spiced). Another friend ordered the Blue Biscuit and Chicken and they crumbled the biscuit into his salad…which turned out to be a great idea. We finished off with the LTOMG! chocolate dome. DELICIOUS!

We'd been wanting to try Kitchen LTO and the Chef Eggar's menu and it did not dissapoint! The appetizers were fantastic (we had the famous fritos, lamb lollies and landlocked sashimi) all were very tasty, though I think I liked the fritos best (and that the chips weren't actual Fritos). Our entrees were delicious, well portioned and lived up to all the server said they were. The desserts though...I'm so glad we tried the LTOMG and the Waffles. I love that the LTOMG gets a different twist with each chef...but those waffles with the avocado creme need to stick around for sure. I would go back just for those. Service was great and not overbearing. We took all our server's suggestions. Dinner was a great experience all around!

Great time Sunday night - great food - everyone sampled the others' - clear winner this night was the Halibut - outstanding - some of the best in memory. Chef's usual night off - but she was giving cooking lessons so we got to meet her as well. Problem was several desert items were "already taken" or no longer available. Hurry to try this menu before mid-Sept.

Overall, the experience at LTO was good. The food tasted amazing, but was not served hot....barely warm. The time between order being placed, apps served, and main course served was too long. The waiter was very pleasant and apologized for the long waits. Had this not been a first date, I would have sent my food and my dates food back..which I never do. Since I didn't mention my disappointment to the waiter/manager I did not allow them to rectify the situation....I will go back and give them another chance.

This is my 2nd time at Kitchen LTO, the first time with with different chef. Last time I did not like the place at all, food not that good and way overpriced. Unfortunately I think here on the 2nd visit we have the same situation. I will not be back for either of the chefs. Risotto: 2/5 (hated the crunchy carrot bits in it and it was not creamy like it should be) Sashimi: 3/5 (interesting and creative but small and overpriced) Bison Tartare: 4/5 (really tasty except for bread was extremely stale which might be intentional) Chilled Lobster: 3/5 (This is basically just a salad with a few tiny bits of lobster, enjoyable but boring) Service 3/5 (Our waitress was not very friendly) Atmosphere: 4/5 FOOD SOUNDS GREAT BUT USUALLY FALLS FLAT

The first night I came to kitchen lto they ran out of most of the entrees and I had the scallops, which were sandy and the purée had no flavor. The next time I had the sashimi, the lamb and the halibut. The best was the appetizers or sashimi and lamb, but they were amazing. The halibut was cooked well but no flavor.

I was very excited about trying LTO out. The menu looked amazing, but the food was bland. The rellenitos had zero kick to them. The caprese was delicious, however. The worst part of the experience was the raw (pink and cold to the touch) quail. I understand that mistakes happen, but the bird was not slightly undercooked, but extremely undercooked. I would guess the interior temperature of the breast was about 80 degrees which is dangerous. I was given another dish at no charge to make up for it which was nice. I was a bit taken aback by the extremely brief (4 seconds) and insincere apology from the chef.

We tried close to half of the menu, including all of the recommended "highlights". None of the dishes were spectacular, most were under seasoned and under whelming. The grilled romaine salad was probably the biggest hit at the table with balanced flavors of sweet, salty and a very tasty dressing. The entree highlight was the tenderloin, although the polenta cake was the one thing over seasoned and was on the too salty side. We skipped dessert. Also, the server treated us like a bit of an inconvenience, for example, "we've got a lot of plates coming out, you'll need to organize the table so we can fit them" - isn't that kind of their job? I'll go back for the next Chef, hopefully they'll be better.

Service was great but the food was awful. The hen was dry, cole slaw was from a prepackaged bag and the baked beans were cold and tasted like Van Camps pork and beans. The scallops were good but the side dishes were disappointing. We opted not to try a dessert.

This was an ideal spot to take two work colleagues in from Chicago and New York. We were able to introduce them to a great area of Dallas, enjoy a wonderful dinner, and take in the Dallas skyline on our way back downtown. Our server - I believe her name was Zee - was fantastic. She was a great help in finding the perfect cocktails, appetizers and entrees to give us a great team dinner.

We met friends for dinner, and got there early(6:30). The service was wonderful and attentive without being hovering. The food was good except my wife's rissoto was under cooked. I know it is supposed to be al-dente, but this was a bit too much crunch. They had no problem sending it back and then taking it off the final bill. D0 NOT miss dessert! It was all wonderful.

I love the concept of Kitchen LTO (Limited Time Only). I've been twice since Brooke Eggers has been in the kitchen. I loved the halibut enough the first time, I ordered it again. Javier was an attentive, knowledgeable server who couldn't have been better. The first time I went I ate at the bar - not because there weren't tables, but that's where my friend and I chose to sit. Then the bar service was spotty - like they weren't used to people eating at the bar. We had to ask for a second drink. But - this week, the service was impeccable. The restaurant treated us with an unexpected dessert - the amazing LTOMG Chocolate Dome.

Wanted to check out lto. Didn't research the chef, but was excited to try a pop up restaurant. Food was NOT good. The appetizers were ok. Got the nachos and soup. Then got the risotto, which was horrible. ..not creamy or smooth. The hen, breasts were dry and the weird rosemary bread thing was gross. Then got the halibut...fishy and the quinoa and rose-like mash was nasty and not well seasoned. Ugh. Hubby got the porterhouse. ..terrible, way overcooked when requested the medium rare and way over priced. I would not recommend this place for food. The service was good but the food was terrible! They don't have high chairs so not kid friendly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

We have dined at Kitchen LTO with every chef, since they opened. Chef Egger's food is very different. It isvery modern...the tomato caprese, more like an aspic with a gelato cheese....so if you like a twist on things, this is for you. The Rissoto was average. My friend had the Hibiscus Halibut, which looked really good. The portion size on the fish was generous. I do think this is the most expensive menu they have put out there. I thought our dinner was very expensive. Just be prepared. Two appetizers (very small portions), 3 salads, 5 entrees, 2 desserts, 2 cocktails and 3 glasses of wine was about $350....hum. Give it a try, though!

Waiter was challenged to remember how dishes were prepared, specials, etc. Better to have a cheat sheet than be incorrect. Halibut was to be grilled, it came out pure white, not a touch of brown from pan or grill. It was prepared well and tasted good. Steak was cooked properly and tasty. Grilled Romaine was soggy on outside, no grilled flavor at all. If it had been split and grilled on flat side, it would remain crisp and take on grilled flavor, and pork belly pieces were hard enough to break a tooth. Waiter tried to make up for mistakes by offering gratis dessert, but then charged us for 2 desserts, when we had not intended to order any. Good menu, good potential, work in progress. I would try again after they tweak prep/service.

We dined here, 2 couples, for an evening out in the hot Trinity Groves area expecting to be blown away because of the concept of the menu changing 3 times per year. The host was very polite and energetic and we were seated right away. The table service was very curt, not super friendly but fine, just seemed rushed and annoyed to be waiting on us at all, so it was sort of hard to gauge if she was over worked or just unhappy to be there. Each dish was described well, but just fell completely short of any wow factor and was completely underwhelming. The salad we ordered with the crispy pork belly was delivered without it but they did correct nicely when we brought to their attention. Overall, I wouldn't rush back anytime soon;good location

I like this place because the chef changes ever 4 months after the public votes in the new one. I've had meals here multiple times with all of the former chefs and enjoyed them. This time the trip was for Father's Day brunch. The food was excellent. What wasn't excellent was the waiter service. It was among the worst waiter service I can remember. The restaurant was half empty when we got there, after taking drink orders, it took him 20 min to come back for our food orders, and it took an additional 40 min to get out brunch food. The GM and the Chef came out later to apologize and they comped our desserts, which I thought was nice. It made up for some of the bad service to some degree. The fact that the food was delicious helped a lot.
