My wife and I go about once a month and love it. The bread is to die for and the crab cake is awesome. The fine dining menu also includes incredible daily specials that someone in our group always orders. Our server was very knowledgeable of all entrees and very helpful with suggestions based on our preferences. I had prime rib & my wife had the filet. Both were excellent. The Tequila lime shrimp appetizer is reason enough to return to Kirby's. But then we couldn't resist the awesome mac 'n cheese & sautéed spinach sides. All our food was served beautifully & tasted absolutely perfect. It was a birthday celebration & it was a very pleasant surprise when the server wished my wife "Happy Birthday." Then our meal was followed with a surprise birthday cake & a birthday card from Kirby's. We were totally awed. Their sourdough bread rivals the best of San Francisco. We each had filets, mine with peppercorn cognac sauce, both tender and flavorful. The first bottle of wine we ordered was corked but no problem declining it. Next bottle (different wine) was excellent. I did have a problem with the lobster bisque, which I didn't mention to Jamie. It tasted like it had been in the pot a few days and had a fishy off-taste. I had tasted it here before when a friend ordered it, and that time it was wonderful. The Wedge & Chopped Salad's are excellent with pleny of Blue Cheese and the Steaks are always delicious and cooked to perfection. (ONE time they were not - and they immediately took them off our bill) The service is also top notch with Mark and Thomas always making the experience exceptionally pleasant. This place is great to go to as a couple ... with friends, or we even take our 4, 7 & 9 year-old without any problem. I was there celebrating my birthday. We had a party of 5. Most of the food was good. However, One of my sons and I ordered the prime rib. His was good. Mine was not so good. It had mostly fat and grissel. A few bites were good, but a couple of times I got all fat and grissel and actually had to take it out of my mouth. That is not a pleasing experience sitting at a table with others. I do like good prime rib and the waitress had told me it was really good. I did not send it back because I did not want to spoil the evening for everyone else. This time, she received a piece that was from the end. It was returned and another was brought out. It was not seasoned as she was use to. She also stated that she thinks because it was a very thick cut of meat from what she normally receives. I could tell she was not very happy about it but, didn't want to ruin the night.
