Continuing the legacy of Dallas' Original Steakhouse, Est. 1954, Kirby's Prime Steakhouse in Southlake, Est. 1999, is an award winning restaurant featuring Mid-Western, grain fed, aged prime beef. Kirby's also offers fresh seafood, daily specials, and a spectacular collection of New and Old World wine housed in an impressive cellar of over 3,000 bottles. To compliment their excellent wine selection is classically trained Corporate Executive Chef Daniel Nemec. Guests can enjoy one of Kirby's wonderful cocktails in the lounge or partake in a glass of wine selected by certified Sommelier, Bil Semon. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Kirby's has definitely gone downhill over the years. Overpriced, poor quality, small portions. Sevice was short of being even bad. Not returning..... And I was a long time customer."

  • "The best shrimp cocktail, and other appetizers which are customarily twice the price, are half off from 4:30 to 7. It is a great bargain, and they are portioned the same as the regular dish. Give it a try!"

  • "Have been there many times with my wife and we never leave disappointed. Friday night was no exception, (other than our eyes could eat more than our tummies and much more than our bank account, ouch). We treat ourselves occasionally and have been to most mid to higher priced establishments in the area and Kirby's always seems to strike the right note of quality, ambiance and attention. I firmly believe if something didn't meet our requirements they would kindly fix it without question or fuss, not that I have ever had to find out."

  • "We appreciate the little things, sometimes. When I told the wine manager I just wanted one glass of wine, versus a half bottle, he volunteered to open the half bottle and just charge me for one glass. It put a special touch on a great meal, and shows why this restaurant is worth returning to!"

  • "Almost walked out, when I saw a throng of "final 4" crowd arriving. Located two seats in a cramped corner, and was amazed at the job that Teddy did in making sure everyone got good service, and the typical Kirby's good food!"

  • "For the past 7 years, Kirby's has been our family's favorite 'go to" spot for steaks, seafood, special occasions, or just wanting to treat ourselves to a great meal! One thing we love about Kirby's is that we know exactly what we can expect when we get there....no surprises! There is not a bad item on the menu! We have never had a dish undercooked or overcooked. Reliable food experience, always the best of everything! Had risotto this time, and sent my compliments to the chef! After living in Italy for a number of years, and having a taste of great risotto, Kirby's is the absolute best I have ever had in the U.S!"

  • "Food was good and they accommodated a group of 8, but REALLY undercooked my friends steak, didn't offer anything as remuneration."

  • "Used to be a regular here....dinner and drinks weekly. Moved away, came back to mediocre wine list, poor bar service, modified menu. Ordered rib eye...horrible presentation....came out as a steak on a plain white plate. Certainly not a $300 dinner. Will never go back. Ever."

  • "We celebrated a birthday dinner. The complimentary dessert was a nice touch. We had never tried the prime rib so 3 of us decided to order it. We all wish we had stuck with the traditional steak. There just wasn't much flavor. It was cooked correctly, rare and medium rare. The appetizer, salads and sides were delicious. Our server did a great job. We were just disappointed in the prime rib."

  • "I have eaten here many times and it has always been good bought this time it was impeccable. Everything was excellent; steaks, seafood, salads. It was truly one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Great service too!"

  • "i have eaten here multiple times and never had a bad meal. The food is always good. It is very loud and hard to hear. That is my only complaint."

  • "We chose to try Kirby's to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, and our experience was amazing. The atmosphere is romantic, the staff was incredible, and the food was perfect. We received extra special treatment when we mentioned our anniversary, and we were so happy with our choice to celebrate there. We will definitely return and recommend to others!"

  • "Order the happy hour shrimp cocktail, and for only 7.50, you will receive the five largest shrimp, you have ever laid your eyes upon, nestled upon some fresh basil, and homemade cocktail sauce. I dont know how they do it, but they do!"

  • "Kirby's is definitely the place to go if you want elegant dining in a relaxed environment. Noise level is moderate, but we had no problem conversing at our table. Filet mignon was cooked to perfection. I had a wonderful evening there with my husband for my birthday. On a side note, the mural of James Dean in Giant is gorgeous!"

  • "We took our 7 year old daughter (who loves steak) for her birthday along with her 9 year old sister. Food, as always, was amazing. The oysters were fresh, the steak tender, wine list is excellent. Our server was excellent and did an awesome job of making the children feel special. I would highly recommend, not only for a romantic dinner for two, but for special occasions with the family."

  • "Our steak was excellent, as well as the asparagus dish, but the salad was pretty plain. We enjoyed our evening but probably won't return because it was definitely the LOUDEST restaurant we had ever dined in, due to the bar area."

  • "Dinner was fantastic! We had the filet with lobster oscar. Still thinking about it! It was wonderful!!"

  • "The food and service were good but the noise level was so high it made it impossible to carry on a conversation without shouting."

  • "we went there on date night for romantic dinner. the place was way too noisy for that. our server said the noise was un usual, we had too talk very loud to hear each other over background noise."

  • "Service was extremely slow. Food was not cooked to order. Also was not hot. Won't be back any time soon."

  • "My wife and I decided to select Kirby's Steak House in Southlake for our dinner on Valentine's Day. The reservation was made on-line, and we had to schedule our dinner at 5:15pm to avoid a post-9pm dinner. That was okay with us, so we decided to make the reservation. The problem we ran into was when the menu was brought to us. Instead of the usual menu (which we had very much enjoyed in the past), they had a "special menu" and a "bar menu". There was literally nothing on the Valentine's Menu that appealed to us, but rather than leaving, we decided to try something from the "bar menu". There was notice on their website that this would be the case. Our selected meal was very average or below. Service was okay. But we left disappointed"

  • "Great place to treat yourself with someone special. Server, Nick, was friendly, funny, knowledgeable. Had a great night!"

  • "Went to Kirby's for a family gathering, the waiter was friendly and nice, however, the food was marginal, especially for a steak house that was recommended to me. Steaks were ok but plate and steak were not hot after a few minutes, also had two fish dishes with the same issue. I must admit I like my food hot and I didn't get that. Second issue was the sea bass had no flavor and steaks really didn't taste much better. Unfortunately the time was getting late and with picky eaters there really wasn't any options that would have substituted well. Also had guests and didn't want to be a part of a scene."

  • "We went on Valentine's Day and they had a set menu. I thought it had plenty of options to choose from and the steaks were unbelievable. I had the ribeye and it was really good, but my girlfriend got the filet and it was amazing. Especially the sauce that came with it (sorry forgot what it was called). They had a great selections of wine for the lady as well. I am a scotch drinker and enjoyed several different single malts, with at least 2 different staff members coming up to me to discuss the different kinds that they offered. Overall, this was a great night out and the food and service was excellent!"

  • "My two favorite steakhouses in the area are Del Frisco and Ruth's Chris and I'm consistently impressed with them. I thought I'd give Kirby's a shot as it seemed to be similar. The wedge salad was great and my date enjoyed her Caesar. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye Medium Rare and when it arrived, it was far under seasoned and didn't have much flavor. It did have a lot of greasiness to it though. Not sure if it was the oil they used to cook or the butter they used to finish but it was very greasy. As a side, I ordered the jalapeño bacon Mac and cheese. It was very bland and had almost no taste other than cheese and greasiness from the cheese. Desserts were ok but the final bill was $180 and I didn't feel it was worth it."

  • "I took my wife to Kirby's for a delayed Valentine's Day Dinner. Kirby's is our favorite place in the DFW Metroplex to eat. I found Kirby's when I booked a dinner for a year end celebration in 2011. I have now had 3 group dinners and my wife and I try and dine at Kriby's at least once every 3 months. Love the service, food and ambience. I have never had a bad expirence at Krib's in South Lake. The attend to every detail and you are never in a rush."

  • "THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. THE BUS BOY WAS RUDE. THE WAITER WAS CLUELESS. WHEN I ASKED HIM "WHERE IS THE WINE FROM?'" HE SAID " I DON'T KNOW" AND WALKED AWAY. I TURNED THE BOTTLE, ON THE BACK IT SAID: NAPA VALLEY. HE JUMPED FROM O NE TABLE TO ANOTHER BEFORE WE HAD A CHANCE TO PUT IN A WORD. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. THE FOOD WAS GOOD, BUT NOT THE EXPERIENCE."

  • "Food was good but when comparing to other steak houses, not my 1st choice. My filet was fatty, I would rate average compared to other upscale steak houses (bobs, del friscos, Ruth's Chris, etcetera)"

  • "Food was great as usual. Service was a bit spotty. When paying that kind of money for a set menu, I just would have expected a bit better service."
