Situated in the West Village, Kingswood is a neighborhood favorite. The vibe is energetic & refreshingly unpretentious. The bar scene is lively every night of the week, where full dinner service is available.

Accomplished chefs head up the seasonal menu. Top purveyors & careful ingredient selection, combined with the kitchen's polished technique, make Kingswood's menu one of the most exciting & enjoyable downtown.

Menu favorites include a Tuscan Kale Salad, Flat Iron Steak Tartare, and our Grilled Grass-Fed Cheese Burger with cabot cheddar served with a side of our famous Truffle Fries.

  • "It was very easy to reserve at Kingswood for dinner.. Right off the "C" rating at Kingswood made me skeptical. When my friend and I walked in no one was having dinner but instead were at the bar. I thought that was fine, but overall the food was okay (we both liked the Kale Salad and risotto). The bread was fine and there was particles in my water. I didn't feel rushed which was really nice."

  • "It was my second time in Kingswood. Loved the food and atmosphere as usual. Although our table waitress was cordial and efficient, the bartender was truly a b....TOTALLY unprofessional and impolite. We were a pax of 4 and we were just hanging around the bar until the table is set up, only to be frustrated with the manner with which this bartender attended to our questions and orders....Very disappointing for a great place like this..."

  • "This may be what most people like. Table were very close together, fortunately, one side of us was vacant the whole meal. We did eat a little early. Bar looked like fun, but made the small restaurant quite noisy! Menu is small but food was delicious."

  • "It took forever to be seated and for the server to come over. 15 minutes for drinks and 30 for the first course with bread finally arriving after 2 requests. 45 minutes into our experience, we’re told there is no duck. When the new entrées came out, my steak was covered in salt, it was completely uneatable. We were there for so long with so many issues I didn’t even bother to order anything else, I ate the sides using my guests knife since my utensils were taken away. I asked for another fork 3 times before I got one. This was all voiced to the manager (who didn’t even introduce herself). We’re told this “isn’t their standard and they’d see what they could take off the bill.” No apologies were sincere, and their response was patronizing."

Not only did our server not come back to ask how our food was or if we wanted more drinks, but there wasn't even a host to get our checked coats at end of meal. The bar tender had to go get them!! And we didn't close down the place.... What happened?"

  • "For starters, the décor in Kingswood is spot on - the reclaimed industrial apothecary blend works really well and makes for a cozier atmosphere while maintaining a sleeker and still refined look. Each person in my party ordered something different so I got to try it all. The kale salad was excellent, a little oily/salty though, the trout was amazing, the octopus was tasty, and the chicken was delicious. I got the monkfish - which I believe was a special, it was good but I wouldn't say it was outstanding, a little lackluster. All in all - a great meal, great service, etc."

  • "We had a table at the front which was so loud and busy that we couldn't hear each other. People were even bumping into my chair and the waiter was having trouble getting through. This place turns into a bar scene and is terrible for eating. Maybe the back tables are better?"

Also, they need to do something about the draft that enters the place during the winter months. We were sat by the front door and the meal was overshadowed by trying to keep warm enough to enjoy the meal."

  • "We picked Kingswood for a reunion brunch with a dear friend I haven't seen in 4 years. The staff couldn't have been sweeter, more helpful or more accommodating. Our ample bench seat was very comfortable, especially with my infant son. The staff was great with the baby and didn't rush us at all through our lengthy meal. And, the food was great and the drinks were excellent. Only wished there had been one or two lighter options on the menu."

  • "We had 7PM reservations on a Saturday night, so you can imagine our surprise that they had already run out of one of their main entrees. There seemed to be some confusion over this, as the server initially told us they were out of the item, then returned to tell us they had it, then the hostess subsequently confirmed they were out. Disappointing, especially being so early in the evening. The server failed to mention the specials until asked. The drinks were enjoyable, albeit somewhat delayed. I would expect them to comp something (drinks, dessert?) for the inconvenience of an incomplete menu...while obviously not standard operation, it would have been a good move on their part. It ended up feeling like amateur hour."

Not only was the Restaurant Week menu restricted to "everyone at the table or no one" (a rule I did not notice anywhere in advance), but the service was incredibly slow and our main courses finally arrived heavily salted and sloppily plated. Though the waitstaff was fairly attentive and provided complimentary dessert to apologize for the slow kitchen, it was a disappointing visit and hopefully not indicative of a new, lower level of service at the restaurant. It's a great spot with a nice menu, will still likely give it one more chance..."

  • "the food was delicious but not outstanding - the mussels were small but in a delicious sauce of beer and bacon - the hanger steak was delicious but not to die for - i liked the spinach but my godson thought it had too much salt but the main reason i would not go back is that the price of wine per glass is outrageous as far as i am concerned -I mean $15 for a glass of Shiraz which i didn't like at all and not a large serving - that is extremely high in my experience - and charged only by restaurants of a much higher category - The Modern, etc. also it was so noisy that one couldn't hear oneself think if none of that bothers you, i would recommend it"
