Diner Reviews
  • "Great place together in the Library Square area downtown. Nothing like that in the area. Great patio on sunny days. Menu offers good selection."

  • "This is the second time I have been here. Once was for brunch and once for dinner. Nice comfortable seating, sat in booth both times. Nice ambiance. Food was good and proportions for burgers was great. I am not into sports at all and unfortunately for me I came with a friend from out of province for dinner and it was extremely noisy. This is probably not the norm I am thinking so I would give the restaurant another try for sure."

  • "The best part of our time here was the zeppelin playing on the speakers. The Food i thought was good however my Girlfriend did not like her dish. The Servers brought out our mains before we were done with the appys and i had to ask 3 times for a glass of water. The decor was cool though and the number of people on there on a Sunday night indicated it was a popular place. overall it was good, id go back there with my buddys if we were in the neighbourhood."

  • "Our group of six had a very nice dinner and drinks. The menu has something for everyone and the bar is very competent. Our server was prompt and courteous. We are planning to have our next dinner there in the months to come. "

  • "Vibrant but comfortable spot for meeting people and attending any downtown entertainment or sporting venue. Varied menu provide enough choices for everyone to find something that will satisfy their eating and drinking appetit. "

  • "Bought a groupon for our first visit which really was not a deal. The coupon was for burger and beer for two, but when added up it barely got you a free beer which had to be Budweiser. The burger was very basic and if you added cheese etc, the groupon was no value. The service was excellent and very prompt. We watched hockey game while visiting. Lady's had a salad, which looked very good; they are also desert jocky's but only ate 1/4. It was a crumb desert with ice cream. Visit was okay but they are competing in a difficult restaurant space; there are so many that are better. If I was them, I would really not have highlighted a burger and beer when it was far below average; which set the tone."

  • "always a good spot for a quick beer before a Canucks game. they'll have room for your bigger groups and a decent burger...but I wouldn't recommend it for much more other than that."

  • "My husband and I usually go to the Kingston before we go to the Canucks game. The service is swift and we always get what we ordered in a very timely fashion allowing us to be in our seats for puck drop."

  • "Great brunch and service. It was pretty quiet as it seems not a lot of people know about their brunch yet. I had the corn beef hash which was so tasty."

  • "We've been coming here for years for dinner before hockey games or concerts. The menu has lots of variety and the food is consistently good. I'm hooked on the Teriyaki Salmon Burger and my husband has the Sirloin Burger. The calamari starter is also very good. Wine list is good and the service is always prompt and courteous."

  • "We arrived early for our reservation and were welcomed with a sense of humor by the bartender. We had just arrived to Vancouver after a long day of travel from the east coast. We were hungry and tired. It was early on a Monday night and really not very busy. Our waitress had some great suggestions for food and drink and also helped us feel welcomed to town. It was a great way to start our 10 day trip to Canada."

  • "We went to the Kingston for Mothers Day lunch, and were very pleased with the food, the service, the atmosphere, the music, and the price."

  • "Food was upscale pub food, well executed, but nothing too you can't get any where else. Would like a better craft draft selection in a 'Taphouse', however my gal set me up with some tasty choices. It was a quite night so the staff were smooth in their delivery and nothing took any time. You can tell they are used to being very busy. Having said that the gals serving me were fun and energetic. Would love to be there for the big game!"

  • "I went to the Kingston for a business lunch and the food was good, better than most pub fare. The menu offers a good selection of food. There are not a whole lot of restaurants to choose from in this part of downtown, but this place is great for casual dining. Service can be a bit slow when it gets busy, so if you're on a time-crunch you may want to keep that in mind and tell your server."

  • "We had a great time, food good plus server was delightful etc.. there were four of us, our complaint would be the noise /music, made it very difficult to carry on a conversation.."

  • "This is a great location for a pre-show dinner (Orpheum or QE). Good menu choices, reasonable prices and pleasant surroundings."

  • "The online reservation system was the best I've ever experienced. Super quick and they did a follow up call the day before we arrived to validate everything. The restaurant was ready for our group lunch and were very attentive to us so that we could be in and our on our hour break. Everyone's food was excellent but especially the spinach salad with candied pecans, which is so awesome."

  • "We had the Dine Out Vancouver menu. I had the beet salad which was large and very good. Various types of lettuce with beats around the edge. My companion had the cauliflower soup and said it was delicous. We both had the chuck steak and mashed potatoes. The chuck steak fell apart and was delicious. The S'more pudding for dessert was very yummy."

  • "Food and service was excellent but... While perusing the 'Dine out Vancouver' website, made 5pm reservation based on that menu. When we were seated at our table we asked for that menu and was told then that the restaurant did not offer that promotion until 7pm. No hour/time 'exceptions' were noted on Kingston's Dine out Vancouver webpage. Very disappointed at the restaurant's decision to get diners via that method...underhanded and sneaky."

  • "A great restaurant for the young crowd. For us old timers it is too noisy to be able to hold a conversation (we get deaf as we get old!)"
