The food was very tasty and there was a good variety. The service was great. Everyone in our party had a good time and also enjoyed going out to the deck and river after breakfast. Beautiful setting for all to enjoy. My grandson loved the colorful salmon sculptures and the C. glass sculpture. Thanks for sending a cart to take some of the ladies back to their cars.

My husband and I were in Leavenworth to see a simulcast at the Snowy Owl Theater. It started at 7 pm, and the Kingfisher didn't open until 5:30. We were a bit concerned but needn't have been. We were able to time our own courses and were at the theater 10 minutes early. We had an outdoor table which only added to the ambiance. The wine list and food at this buffet were first-class; the best part was that we could taste any dish that had been prepared. The night's choices were a skirt steak, cooked to perfection and served with what tasted like a Bearnaise sauce. There was also a delicious cod which was served with a chimichurri sauce. An amazing array of scrumptious salads and desserts were.equally well-prepared. Definitely a must try!

For a special occasion, this is a great place to go. My boys loved the lamb and I love the salad bar. Sad that the fish (halibut) was a bit dry, and that they ran out of trout. It seems that there are always conferences here- I need to find conferences like these so I can eat here more often.

The food was of high quality for a buffet type dinner. Much higher quality than say a Las Vegas buffet although less options. Both the salad bar and dessert tables were excellent. Mac and cheese and soup were fine. Mahi Mahi and vegetable dish were very well done. Beef dish was a little cool. We'll be there again.

We were told that the breakfast buffet was really good and had lots of selection. That was not true. We also got there about 8:45 am, we figured it was a buffet and there were very few people so we took our time. Next thing we know, the buffet it shut down by 9:15!!!!!! No one even came to tell us that they were going to close it down, so definitely not worth the price. Save your money and go to the village instead for breakfast.

We read about this as one of the better restaurants in Leavenworth, WA. We planned it for our special dinner out during our extended weekend. The location was a nicer camp site with some nice scenic views next to a river. When we sat down we learned that the dining was buffet style. The food was better than a typical buffet, but was priced like fine dining. Dinner for 2 (a salad, the main entree and a glass of wine each) was >$100 before tip. We left feeling that the food was OK, but way overpriced for what it was. For reference, we eat out several times a week and go out to fine dining at least monthly so we don't mind and paying for a good dining experience.

This restaurant is my favorite for "a get away" whether for "romantic fine dining" or great family times. We always come away feeling so pampered, we desire to share the moment with others. I love the restful setting, and the simplicity of their elegant deco'. The food is outstanding in every detail providing such new experiences in taste. We love all the choices! And the presentation is bountiful! The unique flavors of the salad buffet are amazingly tempting, no matter your pallet preference as veggies were never dressed so elegantly! And their staff truly enjoy making your meal one to remember--your needs are theirs. Exceptional in every way are our times spent here.

Sounds like a misnomer but it is truly that. A hot section served by chefs who plate a meat, a fish, and a vegetarian option. Last night was pork, steelhead, and grilled abalone mushrooms. There's usually a soup and something kid friendly like a little pizza. The salad bar is my favorite part. I would eat mostly from there, I wish they would offer a salad bar only option at a reduced price. The seaweed salad is to die for. It's usually local produce herbs and cheeses. If you have room left there's a dessert line as well. Diners can mix and match, make as many trips as they need, something for everyone! We loved it!

We were seated in what was an empty restaurant next to a large table set up for a birthday party. When the party arrived it was a pretty noisy group with around 20 people including small children. There had plenty of other tables we could have been seated. It was just my boyfriend and I for a quiet evening so it was very poor placement. Couldn't figure that one out. The drinks were not good and our server ignored our table for most of the evening. I could not believe the Buffett style dinner with poor service was priced at over $40 per plate. I am a local and frequent the Sleeping Lady for its beauty and great coffee and ambience in O'Grady's. I was shocked at my disappointment at the King Fisher.

It's all served buffet style. The salad bar was heavenly. All the side dishes were exceptional. However there were three entree's and only one was good. The salmon was overly salted. The lamb piece that we got was full of gristle. The abalone mushroom was nicely seasoned and grilled. The service was very nice, however she just dismissed the information when we commented on the salmon and lamb.

This little gem of a resort is so beautiful- secluded, peaceful, relaxing...but the food misses the mark entirely. The salad bar was very nice, which left us hopeful for the actual entrees. What a disappointment. The presentation was poor, and the flavor even worse. The wine selections left something to be desired as well. I should note, however, that our server, Hans, was wonderful and very accomodating. I hope they are able to get a handle on their food program, as it really is an amazing environment.

Don't let "buffet" style put you off. Every choice is unique and you will want to sample them all. Beautifully presented, gourmet, and delicious from start to finish (and definitely leave room for dessert(s)!). Our reservations were early, and a good thing because a convention of folks arrived around 6:30 which would have made our dining experience less enjoyable.

The Sleeping Lady Resort is well known for its commitment to locally grown organic foods. August is the best time to dine here as most all of the items in their wonderful salad bar fits this category of foods. At $15 per person, given the quality, it was well worth the expense. Our server was friendly and helpful. It was a very open layout with lots of wood, making it a little loud. But it wasn't too crowded the evening we were there, so the noise level was acceptable. The Sleeping Lady is also very near the Leavenworth Fish Hatchery where we attended one of the Leavenworth Summer Theater musicals. I'd definitely go back here for the salad bar as well as for the mountain lodge atmosphere.

Overall we enjoyed our experience at Kingfisher. The staff were nice and brought us a special dessert tray that wished us a happy anniversary. Liked the freshness of the food especially the produce, fish and chicken. You may want to re-think the skirt steak which was tough (may have been cut wrong). Pizza seemed to run out too (kids needed to wait). Beautiful natural setting.

the kingfisher was not what I had expected. I knew going in that it was a buffet, but please know, this is NOT your normal pig trough. The server unfortunately was less than enthusiastic about our arrival and the food- could have made this a different experience- although the food here is the true gem. I chose the sockeye salmon- light, flaky. The salad bar was a organic and fresh- not heavy laden with oily selections. The dessert bar was exactly the icing on the meal. OH MY GOODNESS! AMAING food, MEH service.

This restaurant is in an absolutely gorgeous location overlooking pines and the river and even the walk to the restaurant set the tone for a noteworthy meal. Unfortunately, I found food to be average at best. It's a buffet that included a salad bar, a "barbeque" menu the night I was there, and dessert. The salad bar had some delicious items on it -- the grilled asparagus was a standout. Two of the three main courses were overlooked and dry. I asked for a roll with my salad and 15 minutes later one appeared, crunchy and stale. The dessert (cobbler) was also delicous and the local cherries were even better. But was it a $50 meal (no alcohol)? Plus tip for the inattentive server in a restaurant that was almost completely empty? No way.

I have been pretty disappointed in the breakfast spot selections in Leavenworth, until a friend recommended Sleeping Lady. I was beyond impressed! Not your typical buffet. the selections were unique, local and delicious! I am picky about the quality of food I consume and I will keep coming back for breakfast for sure! Great gluten free and fruit selections. the inside is beautiful, but outside is even more spectacular with the river and mountains right out the back door. It was nice to take a stroll around the property and check out the garden and O'Grady's pantry, which appears to have great food selections as well. I already made reservations for when my parents and in-laws visit!

This is a buffet style restaurant although of a very high calibre. Sadly the downfall of this restaurant in my opinion are the table placements. This restaurant is situated in a beautiful forest setting but the seating arrangements are tricky as they have some very big tables that take up a lot of space. Great if you are with a big group not so great if you are a couple trying to have a romantic meal! We did ask to be moved but we were told that this was not possible. If you are making a reservation perhaps contact the restaurant itself and ask for a specific table.
