Kingfisher Bar & GrillGirls night outI went to Kingfisher with my daughter to hang out and enjoy a summer meal. The food was fabulous. The coconut shrimp was not overly sweet or heavily coconutty as it is in many places. The shrimp were plump and juicy with just the right amount of coconut. Excellent job. Also my daughter, who never eats everything, cleaned a rack of ribs like a lion on a zebra. I did not get a taste so they must have been great. And happily creme brulee for dessert. A wonderful night in all. The waiter did a great job keeping us eating and drinking. We shall return.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best seafood menu in TucsonThe best seafood menu in Tucson and the wine list is extensive, reasonable and full of good selections with a staff knowledgeable enough to make great recommendations. Service is friendly, prompt and competent. Menu kept interesting with specials and summer "road trips" to add variety. All in all, the food is consistently good - never a bad night, and a very pleasant place to dine. Entrees very generous, but it you have room the appetizers and salads are a delight. That goes for the desserts as well.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSurpriseA last minute choice. we arrived to a very full parking lot and thought it might be noisy and crowded. Quite the contrary, it was busy with people who have learned that the food is good and the service really first rate. The fresh fish was excellent.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat fish, creative menuKingfisher always pleases with great fish. Their summer "Road Trip" menu is always a fun & tasty visit to a regional cuisine. I enjoyed going "Down South" this week.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMYum!The Jambalaya was the best I've ever eaten! Kingfisher is now starting the Down South portion of their summer Road Trip, and they did a wonderful job on their spicy specials like gumbo and shrimp cakes. On their regular menu, the fried fish was amazing; and for dessert, you really can't ask for more chocolate delishishness than its flourless chocolate torte. Yum!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat for seafood & wineDiners seeking a great seafood dinner will not be disappointed with Kingfisher. Although the restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside is spacious and attractive, and moreover, has a huge number of booths. The food is the star, though, and my macadamia nut crusted yellowtail was excellent, as was my oyster appetizer. The restaurant also has an excellent wine list. Worth a trip if you're in Tucson and want seafood. Even better, they take reservations on OpenTable!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSea Food Gold Mine !!!As usual, everything was spectacular! One of the dining gems in Tucson.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMtucson seafoodWe had the Atlantic Char, which was excellent. All appetizers were very good, especially the smoked trout. Table was simply too small for four people. We had to hold elbows in tight, etc. They did a good job keeping plates cleared but that wasn't enough. At $280 for 4 (with tip), that's not acceptable. For 2 or with a bigger table for 4, this wouldn't be an issue.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEarly Mother's Day DinnerCelebrated Mother's Day on Saturday; good decision because it was quiet, with just a few customers. I had the dinner special, a Char fish, which is similar to Salmon in appearance, but much milder and tasty. It was fall-off-the fork tender, with lots of butter flavoring. My wife opted for the Macadamia Nut Crusted Hawaiian Fish dinner, which she enjoyed equally as well as I did. The waiter was very attentive and aiming to please. All in all, a great evening, and will certainly be returning in the near future.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMfresh fish in Tucson?Very fresh fish, super shrimp cakes and friendl, efficient service.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently has excellentConsistently has excellent seafood, as well as other main courses, and attentive service.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!Four of us went to Kingfisher to celebrate my husband's birthday. We all ordered fish - 2 ordered sea bass, 1 ordered flounder on a cedar plank, and I ordered my favorite, macadamia encrusted Hawaiian fish (mahi-mahi this time). Everything was superb! And we got a free dessert to share in honor of the birthday boy.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMas per usual, good value andas per usual, good value and cuisine, consistently a solid dining choice4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMKingfisher will make fishKingfisher will make fish your favorite food! Our waiter made a great wine suggestion. We would like to thank Kingfisher for their long-term support of Dine Out For Safety.
Julie Riggs4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a treatWe always find eating dinner at Kingfisher to be a treat. Good and friendly service, great seafood, great bar. There is a private room available for groups. My personal favorite is the Macadamia nut Hawaiian fish - always tender, with browned butter chopped macadamia nuts. They do change what type of fish is served in this dish, so always ask what is being used that day. My favorite is Escolar! Very moist and tender and sweet! I would have given the food five stars but the spinach salad, which is usually really good, was served with a vinagrette dressing that was way to heavy on the vinegar that night. Clam chowder is yummy and authentic, raw oysters are really good. Relaxing and delicious, just what we like!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSweet spotNice and quiet place, lights are dimmed and candles lit. Staff is amazingly friendly and food is great. Add a bottle of wine from the list and your date is going to love you :)4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a favorite!Always a favorite of ours when we come to Tucson! A bit noisy, but it was a Saturday night during prime time.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDecor is a little dated..Decor is a little dated.. Could use a makeover to bright it up. Very dark and old feeling. But the food was really good. I had the fried squid and then the half roasted chicken. My husband had the spinach salad and the ruby trout. We loved everything.
Will go back again.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI needed a quiet area to meetI needed a quiet area to meet with a candidate and they put us in the 'green room' which we had to ourselves--really appreciated that.
