A word from King Street Trio
We have combined the best of our prior locations into the ultimate casual Uptown destination. The historic 100 year old building that is our new home has reclaimed many elements. Tin Ceiling tiles adorn our main wall. Our Open Concept Kitchen allows you to see and smell our fantastic food as it is prepared. Our 12 seat semi-private dining area is the perfect place for a business lunch or family gathering. All our food is prepared in house and our 68 seat dining room allows us to manage every detail.   • "The resuaurant is in a nice location with easy parking. It has a good ambiance and is nicely decorated. We were seated right away and orders taken promptly. Our appetizer arrived right away and then we waited for about an hour for entrees. Stuffed chicken, scallops and gnocchi, and crispy skinned salmon. For the prices you pay the plates could be brighter and more colourful; not visually appetizing. Food tasted good, but I've had better tasting food from a handful of other establishments. Stuffed chicken dish mentioned sherry soaked raisins, and no raisins to be found on the plate. Very professional staff and pleasant. Apologized for delay of food but no explanation really as to why. Others around us came later and left sooner. Won't return"

  • "The food here is fantastic, we had the salt cod appetizer which was amazing. For main courses we had the jumbo sea scallops and the stuffed steelhead trout both were fantastic. It was nice being able to openly see the kitchen staff as well preparing your food. The hostess and server were very friendly and cheerful. Really appreciated the hostess telling us where the washrooms were as well right after he sat is. The food was a bit pricey but definitely worth it to treat yourself once in awhile."

  • "While the service was excellent and the food tasty, I was disappointed with what the kitchen did to my scallop starter. The scallop is a unique pleasure when experienced as it is. Slicing two of them into thirds and charging $16 is not only a cynical money grab, but a desecration of the scallop experience: gone was the mouth feel and texture, obfuscated by sauce that may have been complimentary had the scallop not been reduced to a shadow of it's intended self. My party and I did not go to KST for a value meal, however as someone with extensive experience of fine dining, I found the food to be overpriced for what it was. I certainly didn't expect frozen veg to be served with a $32 steak when there are ample in season choices available."

  • "Although the food was acceptable I came away feeling that I was intruding on the waitresses time and the sooner we were gone the better. she did not smile and delivered food immediately not giving us time to enjoy our cocktails. She attempted to clear plates before we were finished and then finally succeeded. Overall it ruined my dining experience and we were in and out within an hour....some much for a leisurely dinner and the ability to savour the food!"

We found a wine we often drink on the menu and it was moderately priced- perfect for the evening. The service was terrific and we were not rushed through our selection process or dinner. The restaurant is renovated and decorated beautifully. I'd recommend this restaurant to others."

  • "To celebrate a major milestone in my wife's life, we invited two friends to celebrate with us at King Street Trio. We all enjoy good conversation and the staff provided a quiet table for us. Already we felt at home, and the rest of the evening was outstanding. My wife and friends ordered fish dishes and I ordered Osso buco. They thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and my only comment (not complaint) was that the Osso buco was not true to its' origins and tended towards Oktoberfest cuisine. It was tasty, but the subtle taste of the veal and bone marrow was lost to the sauce and a slight overcooking. It could have been gourmet pork schnitzel. Nevertheless, this was not crucial to our enjoyment of the evening, and I look forward to our next visit."

  • "My three friends and I went there to celebrate a new job and for the first time, it was absolutely amazing. Our waitress was super attentive but not hovering, and recommended some delicious dishes. At the table, we had oysters, veal osso bucco, pork tenderloin, gnocchi and scallops, and the mussels, along with the pumpkin spice latte Creme brûlée, pear and apple torte, and dessert of the evening which was a frozen brownie ice cream sundae. Everything was amazing! The oysters especially were out of this world! We will be back for sure :)"

  • "I had high expectations after reading other reviews. While quality of food was good, the quantity was lacking. Example a beet salad should have more than 4 very thin slices of beet. Beet salad should high light the roasted beet, roast and fan out whole beet, make it worth while. 2 of my diners had the stuffed pork, although taste was good the pork was very overcooked and dry. The restaurant was not busy as we were first diners, so no excuse for over-cooking. The service was great. Comparing it to 649 restaurant in Woodstock the food was lacking, would not return."

  • "We celebrated our daughters graduation from WLU,and had originally planned dinner at 1830hrs. However, the graduation ceremony lasted exactly one hour, and we were to eat early. You were able to accommodator the time change and we arrived at 1700hrs. Service was attentive and "casually efficient" i.e. our server was intuitive to our needs. Food was very good and the experience was very good."

  • "Dined at KST Uptown this past Saturday with a close friend I hadn't seen in a while. It was her first time there and she was very impressed with the decor and the layout of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive without being intrusive. I had the scallops to start, she had the the calamari - we shared and both were excellent. KST's calamari is the best I've had - many places over cook and it's chewy, KST's is flavourful with a great texture. My scallops were delicious as usual. I had filet mignon for my main with the Stilton crust - again excellent, with the steak spot-on rare. My friend's trout was excellent as well, her plate was completely clean! Served in a timely fashion, but we never felt rushed - will return!"

  • "I have written a review of this restaurant before but never specifically about dessert. Following the usual excellent meals (steak; seafood paella; chicken linguine; lake trout), the four of us shared three desserts: mochachino cheesecake; flourless chocolate cake; apple&pear torte served with ice cream. All desserts are $8 and made in-house (according to the server). Delicious! Sometimes my wife and I will just go out for a dessert and a glass of wine. The King Street Trio seems the perfect spot for such an adventure (though they do make it tough to just walk in ... which is why we use OpenTable ... but it does take away from the spontaneity of things)."

  • "We just had to get back to King Street Trio as my wife needed some oysters and we hadn't been there for almost a year. She began with a Manhattan and I enjoyed a beer while we contemplated our choices. She decided to just eat from the appetizer menu with a side of veggies. Her choices - Oysters Rockefeller and Sea Scallops. I opted for a caesar salad and the New York steak. We complimented the meal with a 1/2 litre of wine. Amazingly we still had room for dessert; the flourless chocolate cake for her and the bourbon pecan pie for me. The service was excellent, with proper timing and no extra interruptions. I made a point to compliment the cooks and especially the maker of the caesar, which was perfectly balanced in flavour and proportion."

It was cooked perfectly and ruined us for other steaks! The meal was fantastic, you could tell that our waitress really loves her job and we were not rushed. We were there for 2.5 hours with nobody ever making us feel pressured to leave. 5/5. I will definitely be back."

  • "Our first time dining at King St. Trio. Shrimp cocktail provided a unique taste experience! My husband had stuffed pork tenderloin and I had the chicken. Both were deeeelish and cooked to perfection! Dessert was pumpkin brulee for me and pecan pie for my husband. Both deserts served elegantly and tasted amazing. Coffee was great, service was amazingly polite and well executed! Pricey but worth every penny! Would highly recommend this dining experience, especially for a unique taste experience. "

  • "My husband took me to your establishment for my Birthday. We were greeted quickly with a warm smile, and seated promptly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our table was located in front of the open kitchen. We were able to view the action in the kitchen, which was very impressive. The Head Chef was very organized and very professional in his direction to his two assisting chefs. His complementary manner towards his kitchen staff was pleasant to hear as many employee's do not receive a lot of praise on the job. We will definitely mark this restaurant as on of our favorites. Our next visit will definitely be one of the cooking and pairing classes they offer!"
