The restaurant was quite busy, but the service was great. The manager made several stops to ensure everything was great and even comped our appetizer due to a delay from the kitchen. Food was excellent & we received a wonderful dessert for our anniversary!

  • Prime Rib -- Horrible This Time!
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 9/12/2014
Every year, I look forward to coming from Canada and going to St. Paul to dine at Kincaid's, mainly for (what was once) the best prime rib in the Twin Cities. This year, it was absolutely horrible. I don't know what my "prime rib" really was...more like a brisket than prime rib! It will be quite a while before my wife and I go there again.

Two couples went there this past Monday night. After enjoying a Happy Hour drink first in the bar, we went into the dining room for dinner. We had a nice window table. Two of us ordered the Minday night date night special dinner, which was excellent. We had crab artichoke dip appetizer, one had prime rib and one had beef short ribs, both complete and excellent dinners, and a burnt crime (the best!) for dessert. We also enjoyed the INCLUDED bottle of wine and it was $60 total for the two if us. The other two both had NY strip steaks, which they enjoyed immensely. We will definitely return!

Kincaids is one of our favorites spots for celebrating a special occasion or after a trip to the theatre. The menu offers an extensive selection of both meat and seafood entrees, presented in a creative manner. The Monday "date night" special represents an incredible bargain. For $30 per person, couples are treated to a shared appetizer (such as artichoke/crab dip,) a generous entree per person (we both enjoyed prime rib, although not required to choose the same entree) a shared dessert, and bottle of red or white wine. Although the "special" is limited to a few specific items, there is sufficient variety to choose from. The quality of food at Kincaids is excellent, all freshly prepared. Service is always efficient and personable.

The staff is very willing to work with you to give you the dinner you want. We had some special dietary requests and they did a wonderful job creating our dinners. I definitely recommend Kincaid's to those who want to eat in a very nice restaurant but have problems with some of the places in the area who do not want to work with you.

I ordered the salmon lunch special with avocado and mango tasted wonderful, but I've had tummy issues all weekend long. Also, the waiter NEVER refilled our water glasses! It should just be a given, when someone elects to not order a beverage, you plan on refilling their water glass once if not twice.

Last week we went with friends 2 hours before our curtain time. She was fairly quick about serving our drinks and taking our food order. Then she disappeared. Others brought our food. A half hour after we finished eating she came to see if we wanted dessert, but it was too late. The featured planked salmon was dry, the parsnips were rock hard and the other vegetables were dry. We used to enjoy the delicious Lobster Bisque soup, but I almost laughed when they brought it. I looked in the bowl and saw a small mound of shredded lobster that would fit on a demitasse spoon. I guess it is now bring your own lobster. It is sad when a great restaurant falls so far.

As usual, our dining experience was very good. We missed our usual server Laurie Sealy, who has left Kincaids, but we had Sara M. and she did a very good job. She had our drinks, food and dessert at just the right spaces so that we were able to leave for the Ordway at the appropriate time. Our food is always great at Kincaids.

We came here with two other couples for the Friday night date night special they are currently running. It is a great deal at $30/person! The food and service were great, as always, and we got an awesome table in an alcove area which provided some additional privacy, which was nice. Kincaid's never disappoints!

We needed a restaurant in Lowertown St Paul and Kincaid's was recommended to us by a friend who lives nearby. We went on a quite Sunday evening, our server was excellent; informed, friendly, helpful but not intrusive. We started with various mojitos which were very tasty. The crab cakes were a bit heavy on the batter and the greens were a bit stringy, but overall was still delicious. The short ribs were outstanding, tender, very flavorful and so easy to eat with no bones or fat. The chocolate indulgence cake was really superb, perfect to share with the three of us!

First -no more pear martini's, didn't even have pear vodka in the house. I ordered the Tuna it was okay, I know it's peppered but the pepper was to much lost the fish in it. The rice was also under cooked to the point of crunchy. My wife ordered the chimcuri steak - a little tough. Potatoes and corn was good. Sadly not up to the usual std. Maybe a bad night in the kitchen..
