Diner Reviews
  • "The menu was extensive with fresh fish and fine meats. We opted for the salt crusted prime rib which was so good we ordered it two nights in a row. The waitress remembered us and asked if we wanted the same drink which was brought to the table quickly. We also ordered perfectly prepared salads and veggie sides. One of us opted for the scallops and lamb chops which were enjoyed."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Kincaid's Saturday evening.. The staff was friendly and accomodated our request for a both. The food was exceptional- we started with the crab and artichoke dip, which was delicious. We followed that up with the french onion soup, which was also very good. We split the Filet Mignon and Lobster tail. The filet was cooked a perfect medium rare and melted in my mouth. The lobster tail was very succulent and delicious. All in all, a really fantastic dining experience and really helped to make the night special."

  • "Kinkaid's in downtown Phoenix is a lovely place to have an amazing meal. In our last visit, our server was wonderful, and he recommended the Pacific Sole, which was absolutely fantastic. The asparagus side was cooked perfectly."

  • "Service was superb, food as expected. A good place to eat in downtown Phoenix when the town is busy - most don't know of this restaurant. Has an outdoor area this is good - weather permitting."

  • "You are in the right place. But do not ignore the chops and seafood. The wine list is fin to review and then finally choose"

  • "Enjoyed a lovely dinner pre-Cher concert. Service was good as was the food. We were done in plenty of time before the concert."

  • "Although the dress is casual, Kincaid's offers a fine dining experience! The menu is not extensive, but it is nicely varied and our dinners were well-prepared and very good, The wine list is modest, but offers a variety for every palette. The decor is eclectic and well balanced. There is a patio as well as the indoor seating. We enjoyed the relaxed pace; it is nice not to be rushed between courses. All-in-all a great place to dine!"

  • "We all ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their dinner. The gentleman in our group ordered a medium rare fillet and it was well done but a new steak was prepared and it was comped so that was nice. Would go there again when in the downtown area before an event."

  • "Well established, popular lunch and dinner in downtown Phoenix. Very good steaks and seafood, excellent salads. Not cutting edge, but good food, well prepared, a good place for dinner before a show or game or an event at the convention center. Moderate to high-ish prices, pleasant atmosphere, not noisy. EXcellent service. Highly recommended."

  • "This is a great location if you are in downtown Phoenix for a concert or event at the Arena. But, we wouldn't make a trip there unless we needed to to. The food, service, were okay but its very overpriced for what it is. On the other hand, its about the only decent place to eat around there, excluding all the fast food places."

  • "Even though we had reservations, the maitre de acted as though that wasn't enough to move us from the small booth to a table due to being so booked for 6PM dining even though there were tables available. He was arrogant and condescending. There isn't enough staff & they aren't trained to be efficient…..we were told bread would come first with the bottle of wine we had chosen. However, our salads came & busboy had already taken our bread plates when the bread we requested came. Water glasses not filled …had to ask numerous times for water. We had to flag down someone to request even our check. The food was mediocre making our first experience at this restaurant less than great and we would not recommend it to anyone. Closed after the show!!"

  • "Great location, wonderful ambiance and dining. Location works for symphony or US Airways stadium. Professional staff and diverse menu offer something for everyone."

  • "Not bad, but a bit overpriced for a trip downtown. Hard to find after you park. Depending on what other events are going on, will determine the hassle. Don't bother when there's a ballgame. Good food and service. Wines are horribly over priced!!!"

  • "I have been to Kincaid's in Hawaii many times and was traveling to Phoenix with my son for baseball spring training. We wanted a nice meal after a long day of ball park food and came straight to a familiar place. Because we weren't in business attire as other diners were, we were treated very poorly and when our server got busy he completely ignored us. I sat patiently waiting to be asked if we wanted drink refills or if our meal was satisfactory and we were never tended to. A mom and her son became the low priority for our server to give attention to. Another server finally noticed us just sitting there and boxed our leftovers for us. I would have complained but my son begged me not to. I am a radio broadcaster so I will tell the story!"

  • "We would not return to Kincaid's. The ceasar salad was very strong with anchovy, and the dressing was too generously applied. The filet was not especially flavorful. Prime rib was good, but certainly not among the best we've had."

  • "Fish was wonderful and it is always a fun place to be."

  • "Atmosphere was quiet. Unfortunately, the building the restaurant is at is very unappealing. There is nothing to look at like a nice view or lights or fountain or flowers. The service was plain. Not rude, but not friendly or welcoming either. I had the fish. I guess it was the red snapper. It is so bland that I can't remember it very well. My partner had the scallops. The 3 large scallops were very tasty; however, the side vegetables looked and tasted as if they were taken straight out the can. Very disappointing considering the amount they charge for each plate. In hind sight, we should have probably ordered the steak!"

  • "I was in town for a huge convention and periodically wanted to have a networking lunch or dinner in peace and quiet - AND be guaranteed a table. Kincaid's was just that. I was able to easily make reservations with Open Table and just cross the street from the hustle and bustle of the Convention Center. The food was fabulous, service was excellent and Kincaid's never disappointed. I went there 3 times in the 4 days I was in town. Glad to have the resource to accomplish what I needed to without going in a cab in the midst of the day..."

  • "Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was simply 5 star and wonderful. They made Valentine's Day wonderful. We insisted on meeting the chef and we think he is just awesome. He grew up in the Ivory Coast, served in Paris and New York and he became our good fortune to be meet. Fantastic service, fantastic food, fantastic people. It was our blessing and pleasure to choose, and to be at, Kincaid's that night. On special occasions, when deciding where to go, we will think of Kincaid's first."

  • "We went here to try a new restaurant and we left disappointed. The service was decent but the food left something to be desired. In my party we had both the french onion and clam chowder soups, which tasted like I could have made them at home. That was foreshadowing the rest of the meal. While everything was cooked well and the service was good the food did not leave me wanting to go back. We all ordered steak (a filet, prime rib and a new york). For the price, there should be a lot more flavor and something unique about this place but we left and all agreed we would not go back."

  • "We have eaten at other Kincaids locations and were downtown for a theater performance so I booked a reservation for my wife and I. We were not disappointed. I had the NY strip and my wife had prime rib. Both were delicious and cooked just right. We had two great wines and an outstanding dessert. The service, as at the other locations, is impeccable. Its nice to have a restaurant that always is great."

  • "It was very much wonderful experience to have dinner at Kincaid's. Food is good, very extensive wine list. Most of all, our waiter, Lyra, is very friendly and kind. Don't miss this wonderful restaurant at downtown Phoenix."

  • "We had cocktails in the bar before checking in for dinner. The bar was full-- our server was staying very busy. The bar was out of both Dewar's and Johnny Walker, but the server returned the third time and offered Chivas Regal for the same price. The list of wines by the glass in the bar was limited. However, the list in the restaurant was well-balanced in both selection and price with many affordable bottles. My prime rib was good, served with garlic mashed potatoes and a medley of broccoli, zucchini, Brussels sprouts, and carrots. My husband's lamb osso bucco was also very good. Presentation on the plate was uninspired, but service was excellent, as many diners were also trying to make the 7:30 curtain. A pleasant evening, but not a wow."

  • "My sister and I have now made this our annual trek when we go to the Nutcracker Ballet at Christmas time. This is a pricey dining experience, however when food melts in your mouth, how can you put a price on that? The chef they have has actually managed to learn the true meaning of "medium rare" and delivers a steak that causes food-gasms. If I had a steady income or a steady fella, I would go there often. The service is always friendly (our waitress this year kept disappearing, but another was always happy to help). Even though the customer age range ran the gamut, from older couples to young ones having romantic moments to families, it was not a noisy free-for-all that happens in other places - perfect ambiance. Will always recommend."

  • "In town for a convention and didn't want to go far. we didn't have to go far for an excellent dining experience. From start to finish, Kincaid's was everything we hoped for. Great food, drinks and service. French onion soup was soooooo good!!!"

  • "We were going to the US Airways Center to a Suns game and had a meal at Kincaid's before hand. The service was efficient and friendly, the food very tasty and nicely presented and the location was very convenient. We parked underground and had the card validated by the restaurant. Great evening!"

  • "I selected this restaurant as a place to take my signficant other for a birthday celebration. We were welcomed and seated quickly. Our server was very friendly in walking us through the menu options and specials for the evening, she made some great recommendations as dishes that we could try and they were all winners. The appetizer sampler with the tenderloins, crab dip and coconut shrimp was wonderful. Our entrees came out quickly and were both delicious. Then we were surprised with a little birthday dessert of the seasonal fruit cobbler that was a perfect way to finish out a great meal. Wonderful dinning experience. I have been there for lunches on multiple occasions and enjoyed the opportunity for a great dinner too!"

  • "None of the above categories describe this restaurant. it is just a nice place for dinner when attending an event in downtown Phoenix. Rather it be the Suns game, Orpheum Theater, etc. It could be considered pricey but the service and convenience make it very worthwhile. Also parking is convenient and validated."

  • "Kincaid's has been my favorite restaurant downtown since it opened. It has a wonderful cozy, classy ambience. The food and service are always great. It is somewhat hard to find (being on the second floor of the Collier Center). I wish more people knew about it."
