This was my first time ever dining at Kincaid's and I'm so sorry I waited so long! Will try to get back there again before the close/move this weekend. Wish they weren't closing because this was one of the finest dining experiences I've had in the area! Food was delicious and restaurant was beautiful! If it weren't for the loud ladies at the table behind us, I would have given the noise level a higher rating. Go visit, if you haven't already done so! You'll be glad you did!!! :)

Our meals were cool. My husband had the create-a-combo and added the salmon to his meal. I suspect they forgot the salmon till everything was ready to come out and our meals sat cooling as they cooked the salmon since that was the only hot item on either plate. The food did seem to be good quality. I didn't like how the bread came out pre-buttered with the butter on the top of the loaf. My lavender martini was delicious, and our server Andrew was great. Also ordered a Dark and Stormy (rum, ginger beer, and lime) but am pretty sure that I ended up with a Mai Tai instead (it was orange and red). Didn't complain since we needed to leave, so they didn't have a chance to fix it, but it was annoying. For $120+ for two people I expect more.

My first time here. Enjoyed the appearance and ambience. Food was good but service slow. Waited a couple of minutes at entrance before being acknowledged; wasn't sure I came in right door. Seemed server had too many tables so getting initially served and getting order in took a while as well as getting check when finished. Server was polite/professional. Don't like the memory ordering; didn't get one item we ordered. Would visit again.

I made a reservation and provided my phone number and email address. Arrived 25 minutes early with my date and the restaurant was closed. It had snowed the day before and some other places were closed too, but a restaurant with such a great reputation owes at least a text message/email to those with reservations stating that they are closing their doors.

We went for restaurant week and specifically for the prime rib, my husbands favorite cut of steak. We ordered drinks, decided on our order and when the waitress started to take our order, apologized that they were out of prime rib. I always find it annoying when a restaurant runs out of something but if they do..be clear before the patron wastes their time deciding! This immediately set a different tone for my meal even though the food we did eat was good. When you pay $100.00 for a meal, you expect everything to be just right.

The food was fine--the service, however, was poor. We arrived at 6:30 and notified the waiter that we were going to the symphony at 8:00. Since it was "Restaurant Week", there was a fixed price menu and we ordered promptly. It took 20 minutes for a drink to arrive, another 25 min. for the first course, 20 more min. for the entrée to arrive. By the time we finished eating, we realized our time was short. We asked the waiter to speed things up a bit. He did not, so we had no time for the dessert we paid for. If the restaurant had been packed, it might have been understandable but the waiter's inattentiveness was inexcusable: No bread served, water glasses not refilled and many trips by our table before our check was presented.

We went to Kincaid's during Norfolk's Restaurant Week and ordered from the Prix Fix menu. They offered a nice variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts and everything was prepared pretty well, but we had to send out prime rib back to be cooked just a little more to make it medium rare. But better undercooked than overcooked. I just don't like to have send anything back to the kitchen and getting out of sync with the rest of the dinner party.

Very unhappy with Kincaids. Food was adequately prepared, but poorly prepared. The steak had been marinated in a heavy liquid smoke, then grilled, and cut into strips. I ordered it medium, came out rare. The smoke taste was overwhelming (and awful). The only item on my plate that was edible was the mashed potatoes. Menu is sparse. Only three meat selections and two seafood selections. We expected better.

Made reservations with a special request for a quiet table. They made note of our request and even let us pick our table from several in the back of the restaurant. I have special dietary needs and they made a meal to order for me with just vegetables and it was perfect. My date had steak which was also cooked to order. Our server Joshua was great and we will definitely be back

We dined on New Years Eve, the restaurant was not full not crazy busy but during the course of our dinner we had to hail the waitress several times to receive service. Sat with empty drinks. Then after completign our dinners she came after some time and collected our plates (normally a sign to sell a desert and /or as if the customer is ready for the check) and left -we waited 15mins for someone to bring our check - a different waiter came with that - we then waited an additonal 10-15 had to hail her to come get it cash out. She basically forgot about us everytime she walked away from us. I always leave a tip and did so that night but it was not deserved nor earned.

The Bloody Marys were horrible, the mix was very diluted and watered down and only a pepper for a garnish, not even a lime! Anyone can make a decent Bloody Mary. The Christmas special was a Leg of Lamb, which I like; when I ordered it medium rare, the server told us it was all well done. YUK! I ordered the filet mignon, for the price it was nothing special, just a steak, a spoonful of cold mashed potatoes and a sprinkling of onion straws. Other entrees my party ordered received poor reviews also- the Dijon chicken and the prime rib. For Christmas dinner, a major disappointment. If they are going to open on Christmas, serve a special Christmas dinner.

We didn't realize that when making a reservation, you Must request a booth if you want one. Otherwise, you'll get a table. We were seated right away, and our server Sarah was great. We ordered the BBQ burger well done and a sirloin steak medium rare. 38 minutes later (I only know this because our server pointed it out) our food arrived. The burger was well undercooked and the steak was over cooked. The table next to us had an issue with their burger as well, so it may have been ours. Kincaid's paid for our burger and offered us free dessert. While we appreciated this gesture, it meant my steak got cold while we waited to the replacement burger (I didn't want to eat while my wife sat their hungry). I think the kitchen just had an off night.

We were promptly seatly. Service from here goes down hill.   We reviewed your menu online as we are new to the area. We placed our order after waiting 10 minutes for our server.  The server came back 30 minutes after we placed our order to tell is that the paper got wet and he has to reenter our order  We asked for a manager. She was not professional at all didn't offer an apology.  To make matters worse our food was not cooked properly.  We had to send the food back. Again, no apology from the Manager as she sent our food back. This has been the worst experience we have ever had in a resturant.  As consumers we understand that things get hectic.  With that said the restaurant was not crowded.

I have dined at this particular restaurant numerous times and have always enjoyed a great meal. However, my latest meal at this establishment was not what I have experienced previously. The prime rib I ordered was extremely tough and the service was slow. I had to request another server to bring me my bill. I'm hoping this was just an isolated less than stellar dining experience.

When we were seated, the table was sticky with some sort of clear syrupy substance. They seemed understaffed and it took a while for our server to greet us. I ordered the meatloaf and later found out they were out.. The server should have known this before taking my order. I settled for the prime rib. My medium sized cut looked unappealing and tasted unremarkable. It was served au jus and it was spilled all over the plate. The French onion soup was fine, but it had way too much cheese on it. The soup was served without a spoon. the Prime rib was served without a steak knife and the bowl of ice cream was served without a spoon. This is a relatively expensive restaurant and neither the food nor the service are worth the expense.

We started with Martinis and Mojitos which were top notch. We both had the French Onion soup which was quite good. I had the prime rib end cut medium with mashed potatoes. Prime rib was salty, but it was an end cut. My dining partner had an Herbed gnocchi with smoked pork, arugula and cherries which did not pass muster. The gnocchi was overcooked and everything was stirred together to a mushy texture. The only thing with standout flavor was when you bit into a sweet cherry. She recommended to the waiter to remove the dish from the menu. We continued on with a tremendous warm cranberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The beginning and end were marvelous with one bad choice in the middle. Previous visits were not disappointing.
