Diner Reviews
  • "We had a reservation for 4 at 7:00 but our table was not ready when we arrived. When we were finally seated, we discovered little shards of glass all over the table. When we were finally able to our waiter's attention, it was cleaned up promptly. Service was pretty slow overall. It seemed they were understaffed on the holiday weekend. The food was very good. We will return."

  • "The food here has gone down a bit. We had the prime rib and it had way to much rosemary. It was also a bit more fatty than normal. Service was ok, nothing to write home about. It was not at all worth the money."

  • "the steak I had was very good. The walleye dinner my wife had was dissapointing"

  • "We took our grand daughter to dinner on Thursday and had a very good meal and terrific service. We had the prime rib on the date night menu ($60) and our grand daughter had a kid's meal consisting of oranges and strawberries, pasta with red sauce, lemonade, and a hot fudge sunday ($9). The server was super helpful and very kind to our grand daughter. Will definitely be back."

  • "We celebrated my sisters' birthday on "date night" and had a fabulous meal and experience from beginning to end. The chef came out and spoke with us and recommended a couple items for us. Our server, Sarah, was a delight with a great sense of humor. The evening was perfect, the scenery is perfect, and the host and staff are excellent. I would come there again and again. Thank you."

  • "My two friends and I came here on a whim and enjoyed ourselves very much. They were from Baltimore, staying nearby; I'm from St. Paul. I've eaten at other Kincaid restaurants so knew the food would be good. We really liked the ambiance and our waiter (Carl) was so friendly, thoughtful and helpful and made us very comfortable. I don't know about outdoor dining since we didn't do that; or the late-night or bar scene stuff since I'm past that age. I'd definitely come for a special occasion."

  • "My wife chose Kincaid's for her birthday dinner. We have always had excellent meals with exceptional service at the Minnesota location. This dinner confirms that Kincaid's continues to maintain its high standards after 27 years."

  • "I ordered a rare hamburger, it was seared and then baked. It was as any well done piece of meat with the baking of it. I ate little of it. I ordered short ribs for my wife, and this was like pot roast. It was disappointing. We waited at least 20 minutes for the check when we were done. It certainly looked like the restaurant was understaffed at 6:30 pm."

  • "Made reservation on Monday for Thursday 6:15 pm requested a quiet table for dinner meeting. seated where there was a view of kitchen entrance with servers constantly walking by our table and in and out of kitchen. Our service professional was pleasant but on the slow side (restaurant quite busy) Considered the food average. My past experience at Kincaid's have been positive but this was several years past and I realize that restaurants do change over time."

  • "This one went really lousy. An extra loud group of the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce made plenty of noise and ruined the ambience. The food was prepared incorrectly and turned a potentially romantic evening into a major flop. It will be a long time before returning to Kincaids; and we certainly cannot recommend the food to friends and business acquaintances. We've seen it turn from good service and great food, to now just great glitz. We paid our $100+ for a pretty poor supper. A recent night out a the nearby Good Earth far exceeded Kincaid's service, quality, and price."

  • "I can always count on Kincaids (& have for many years). Tucked into lower ground level of office complex, it doesn't sound like much. But the ambience is romantic, warm and welcoming....The menu features classic meat & seafood dishes...I usually go for the salmon but the prime rib is delectable. Prices are reasonable and fair. choclabannie 8/14"

  • "Seating request honored. Great attentive and respectful service. Food was unique (smoked sirloin), tastefully presented and tasty. Memorable overall experience."

  • "As always, the food was perfectly prepared and presented. Everything from the maytag blue cheese salad to the fresh halibut right through the bread pudding was delicious. The srrvice was attentive, but not to the point of annoyance. This has been our family's favorite restaurant for years. We had moved from the Twin Cities, but are happy Kinkaids has remained & continues to deliver great food & service."

  • "Interesting location- on the ground level of a bldg in a large office complex. Even with GPS, I drove by it twice. Free parking in the attached garage, though (on a Saturday). Wanted to give it a try based on internet recs. Nice ambience, elegant but laid back, casual attire, comfortable noise level. Was seated by a window with a view of the garden. Service was courteous , not overbearing. Appetizer crab cakes were good, although they appeared premade. Had the wild rice soup which was also tasty, although somewhat salty for me. Reasonable beer selection. Main course Seafood Louie salad, was good, but not memorable. The choice of greens was a little uninspired. Overall a decent meal. Would be willing to return to try a different dish."

  • "I've dined at both the Bloomington and St Paul Kinkaids and had an especially great server this time at Bloomington. He knew the menu and was just that perfect amount of attentive--not too noticeable but quietly anticipating what you would like. Good setting. The food is very expensive and I'm not sure it's quite that good."

  • "We first discovered Kinkaid's 17 years ago upon moving to Bloomington. We moved away -- to Eagan -- 15 years ago, but coming back is always a well worthwhile trip. The ambiance, the food, the service are well worth the miles."

  • "My wife and I had a very enjoyable Anniversary dinner this past Saturday. The food , as always was outstanding. Service was somewhat slow but acceptable. A nice quiet low key atmosphere allowed us to enjoy each others company and conversation. No one on cell phones. No loud music. Just a high quality relaxing meal"

  • "I have been patronizing Kincaid's in Bloomington almost on a weekly basis for several years. It is convenient to my home and has consistent quality on a menu that is fairly traditional (the only drawback). The servers know me by name and vice versa and I have an emotional connection to the restaurant because it was a favorite dining destination for members of my family who are now deceased. For menu variety and adventurousness, I have to go elsewhere, but I keep returning to Kincaid's. It is my favorite place. And they make a great martini."

  • "Gave Kincaid's a try after not being there for several years (we moved out of town.) Patio ambience was excellent - quiet, relaxed with a pretty view. Our server was attentive, knowledgable and friendly. Salmon on a plank was excellent. Walleye was perhaps the worst I have ever had. Small, thin, dry portions heavily breaded that reminded me of the frozen fish sticks I used to have in school growing up. Also, the timing of our service was very sporadic. I ordered a glass of wine with my entree, and received it over 20 minutes later after my entree plate had been taken away. We ordered dessert and waited over 30 minutes for it to be served (after complaining to the manager.) Based on our experience, could not recommend."

  • "4 of 6 of us had the Halibut special and there was not a bit left on any of the plates. It was done perfectly and it was served professionally by our wonderful server, Laura!"

  • "Excellent experience, good food plus great service!"

  • "The setting is open and airy and has a contemporary feeling. Despite being known for steak, all 3 of enjoyed excellent fish dishes. The seasonal special of halibut cheeks was absolutely delicious. I was concerned after reading an unfavorable review of that dish, but I quite disagree with that person and highly recommend that dish. My soup of the day was tomato basil. Doesn't sound that special, but it was highly recommended by our server and it was worthy of high marks. The wine list covers all price ranges. We were very pleased with our selection of one of the less pricey white wines. Kincaid's is a little pricey, but worth it."

  • "We went to Kincaid's in Bloomington for Sunday Brunch. I would highly recommend it. They have some very unique items. I loved the Pear Bread Pudding French Toast. You also get a free mimosa and muffin. The service was excellent and it was great for visiting."

  • "The food and the service were great. The atmosphere was wonderful. There is no readily signage visible from the road. Jus go to the 8400 Tower, and Kincaid's is on the main level."
