  • "My husband and I went to Kimo's during a stay in Maui for our honeymoon. The valet at our hotel recommended the restaurant. The restaurant was busy but our server made us feel like we were the only couple there. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I have a nut allergy and he was very good about confirming with the chef that our meals were safe for me to eat. The food was really good too. My husband had the prime rib and I had a grilled fish. Both were delicious."

  • "We had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We've already recommended you to everyone with whom we've spokend. It was one of our Maui highlights."

  • "We visited Maui last week. Our shuttle driver recommended Limo's. We went and had a great time. Except for the larger group next to us with a screaming boy, All went well. The snapper was excellent. The wine list is good. And nothing bears a Maui sunset. Unfortunately Since there were only two of us we go it stuck In a corner but we still enjoyed our dinner."

  • "This was great and the staff was wonderful. It was cold so would have preferred to be inside but the view was fantastic!"

  • "We came here on a suggestion from friends. We were a little disappointed at the noise level right when we got there. Next we were seated at a table on the second level not close to the balcony. So center of the restaurant super noisy and mediocre menu. No thanks. On a positive note the Kimo fish was pretty good and they served their version of a Moscow mule in a copper cup."

  • "We also have the intention of making it to Kimo's every year but never do. I'm so glad we made it there this trip. Food was great as well as he service. We had a larger group with kids and they were very accommodating. Prime rib was outstanding as well as the fish special. We will be back!!!"

  • "Everything was wonderful!!!! Been to Kimos many times in the past and this time did not disappoint!! Beautiful restaurant, great bar and bartender service! Hostess was very welcoming and noticed it was our anniversary and that we requested table by ocean. She gave us the option to wait a very short time for just that! Our server Amy was and absolute doll and very efficient. The only negative and was that I requested to take home my remaking steak. This was forgotten, by us too. No big deal.... Will always recommend Kimos. Not cheap meal, but average for restaurants in Maui!! Thank you Kimos for a memorable, romantic dinner with great service!"

  • "Have dined at Kimo's many times. Our favorite restaurant when visiting Maui. Our waiter recommended a local fish (ahoo?) that was by far the best fish I have ever had. Kimo's always has wonderful fresh fish. And the Hula Pie of course."

  • "We met a friend there while visiting in Maui. Good drinks, great service but my citrus herb grilled fish was dry and not very flavorable. It was my birthday so they brought me a huge piece of Hula pie which was delicious. Great table overlooking the water. Fun place to eat"

  • "You can't beat Kimo's for the best fish prep on the island at a reasonalble price and a killer view on the water. We love Kimo's and always make it our first and last stops when on Maui. The Kimo style prep is so good that we asked the kitchen for the recipe--which they gladly supplied. Have made it at home, but nothing comes close to fresh opakapaka made Kimo style. Always a winner!"

  • "We are frequent travelers to Maui and always eat at Kimo's when on the island. It is a great deal and the food is always delicious. We were, however, disappointed when they removed the salad included with the entree and also removed the chicken strips from the kid's menu. It won't stop us from going, but please don't take away the carrot muffins!"

  • "If you want to fight the crowds in Lahaina Kimo's is a good place for dinner. They have a good selection of seafood and other items but why would anyone want anything but seafood in Hawaii. Service is good and dinner starts upstairs at 4:00 but the lower level is open early. Kimo's is definitely an above average restaurant with good food and service. The traffic and parking situation in Lahaina definitely detracts from the overall experience. Kimo's is beachside so the view is excellent. Above average prices for Maui but worth the money."

  • "Excellent meal. My husband and I both had fish entrees. Mine was prepared in "Kimo's" style; his was a Parmesan preparation. Both were very good. We shared the ice berg lettuce salad - also very good. For dessert, we had the Hula Pie. If you like vanilla ice cream, fudge sauce and macadamia nuts, you'll like this! We had a 5:00 p.m.reservation - 9:00 p.m. in the time zone we left 11 hours earlier -and were seated at a waterside table with a great view of Lahaina harbor which was lovely. We had been flying all day. The meal at Kimo's was just what we needed. Our server was pleasant and fairly attentive - just a little slow with things, but not bad. All in all, one of the nicest dining experiences I've had in a long time."

  • "Great food, but lousy service. Fish was fresh and well prepared. But it took more than an hour to get our food. Had to flag a waiter to even take our order. No one checked on us. Staff seemed overwhelmed."

  • "The best Mai tai on the island, great food and service. AND, no matter where you sit, order the frys. (even when not on menu) PLEASE NOTE: don't act like a tourist. It's a local favorite. Also, don't steal the glassware. The Tiki one is indeed for sale. I am not related to the business in anyway, I do hope that they might give me a couple of Tiki glasses for writing this."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to us, but it fell short of our expectations. It appears their main focus is to turn as many tables as possible in a quick amount of time. Tables are quite close to each other so be prepared for a high noise level. Our server seemed bored and reeled off 4 fish specials that we could barely hear over the sound of the music and other diners. Then he proceeded to take orders from only one side of the table so you had to shout your order to him if your were seated at the other side. Salads had too much oily dressing, but the rest of the food but there was too little time between courses . We had expected a leisurely, elegant dining experience...instead we felt rushed and un-relaxed by the time we left."

  • "My family has been traveling to the Hawaiian Islands for over 30 years and a highlight of our trip has always been dining at Kimo's restaurant for the delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. This year we were very sad to find that things have changed for the worse. First, we were not so warmly greeted by the staff that seemed like we were definitely interfering with their plans to be somewhere else. Our next disappointment was the band. The band was so loud that any idea of communicating with your family was just an idea. We had 3 different food servers as we sat helplessly at our table. Then the prices of the meager serving of less than good food were debilitating! We will definitely not be back!"

  • "Loved eating outdoors upstairs watching the sun set and whales spout! Best Mai tai at happy hour in town! Friendly bar staff, excellent fresh catch of the day. Wonderful experience."

  • "We always enjoy dining at Kimos when we visit Maui. The food is always well prepared and fairly priced. We come for the fresh catch of the day and are are never disappointed with the selections. Our ample dinner is always followed with a slice of hula pie - a giant (truly!) slice of cookie crusted macadamia nut ice-cream, coated with chocolate and more nuts. YUMMMM!!"

  • "My wife and I were lucky to get a table on Saturday night. Kimo's has been around for over 30 years and is very popular. The location is ideal - directly on the water in downtown Lahaina. The food and service are excellent - the fish is their signature dish Hula pie is a wonderful dessert, big enough for two people."

  • "Kimo's food and ambiance was terrific. The MahiMahi with lobster salad was out standing and also the swordfish. I would skip the Kula Pie. So much good ice cream in Lahaine and this was tasty with good fudge sauce but not top quality ice cream. Great open view to the ocean and service was prompt and professional. Very impressed that the hostess remembered when we visited a 2nd time."

  • "It doesn't seem like you can go wrong in Maui for excellent fresh fish dishes! We all enjoyed our dinners at Kimos; however, the service could have been better. It took a very long time to get two vodka tonics once we were seated and when we were waiting for our reservation in the bar area, no one came to serve us. We decided to get our drinks at the bar and the bartender was excellent. One small recommendation to the chef on the goat cheese appetizer...more is better! The amount that was served was good for one pita chip..."

  • "The food was not bad but not much choice in wine. The noise level was a huge minus. I like to be able to talk to my husband but couldn't. Too many other good places to eat in Maui. Would not go back"

  • "Genius fish menu - the 5 or so 'catch of the day' vary but the menu lists several available preparations. You can't go wrong withLemonBuerre Blanc with Capers. Wait staff has found that perfect balance between friendly/chatty and leaving you alone to enjoy those around your table. We split a salad (our waiter divided it quite elegantly) to help save room for a piece of their famous Hula Pie. Delicious!"

  • "First, the service was wonderful. Our waiter was Kimo (Related?) and he was outstanding. He was prompt to fill our needs, even providing food for the children early so they did not melt down from hunger. I would ask for him when ever I go. The food was wonderful. Reasonable portions (not too big or small) and quite unique. A diverse selection of fish that I doubt you can get anywhere but Hawaii. It is a restaurant well worth visiting."
