  • "A friend recommended this place to me. I was glad he did. Everything was wonderful. They were out of the wine I selected but after a couple of questions about what I like, our server brought out a lovely, delicious bottle. The food was amazing. I'm a vegetarian and it gets difficult finding places that have something other than a salad and roasted vegetables. I was very please with the variety and freshness of everything. It's a little place, so if you are going at peak times, make a reservation. Loved everything about this place."

  • "The food was great, I ordered mushroom tacos and olives, which were very tasty. My friends were from Dubai and the waitress process the payment so she knew they are out of town. They left 10% tip, and she literally "attacked" them, suggesting that the "normal" tip is 18-20%. I am confident that this would not happen had they not been foreigners. She made me very uncomfortable for her. It is a pity because I liked the food and would def come back had this not happen."

  • "This place knocked my socks off. It's a small restaurant with small tables fit for more of an intimate gathering of 2-4 people. Our server really knew wine. I like sweet wines like Moscatos and some Rieslings, and our server had me try a pink bubbly Moscato that gave him a vision of "Victoria Secret models having a pillow fight." HE WAS RIGHT, it was the best wine I've ever had. My husband and I shared 3 small plates: Goat Cheese Crostini, Shrimp and Grits, and Octopus. We were blown away by all three. Flavorful, well-presented, and decently filling. It's a pricey place, but worth it in my book."

  • "Made reservations for brunch for no reason, since restaurant was deserted. Not sure why it was so empty as it was the Saturday before St. Patrick's day. Very small, with egg-only menu, odd. Service was fine & the eggs were good, sausage was delicious. Not sure if we would go back. Coffee, from blue bottle was good, but there was no milk & the cream was slightly curdled."

  • "Kilo is a teeny tiny restaurant with a lot of heart. The wine list is wonderful, the staff helpful but not pushy or in your face, and the food is great. Small plates with an earthy feel and some of which (the octopus and mushroom tacos especially) have a twist of surprise to them. The atmosphere is romantic with wooden tables, tiny flickering candles, and a sort of rustic/cool vibe. Brunch is also exquisite! Coffee made fresh by the cup for you, delicious and earthy plates, and a sunny sweet atmosphere."

  • "If you want healthy, imaginative and invredibly delicious food, get here fast, but be ready to wait. While organic is a way of life, Kilo makes being healthy fun. The meatballs were exceptional, a special beet salad was tasty (although sparse) and the lamb special was one of the tastiest dishes ever enjoyed. LJ provided pehomenal service, answering every question, and was genuinely excited that we loved our meal. He was accomodating about wines and made the evening that much better. Go. Now. Enjoy. Can't wait to return."

My only "complaint" is that the most recent time they brought nearly all of our tapas out at once, whereas in the past everything was timed much better (in my opinion), though i suppose some people may like receiving them all at once."

  • "Low key, which leads to a comfortable, relaxing experience. The small plates are oh so tasty. Be sure to have a cuppa joe. My dining partner was thrilled with it's heavenly aroma and it was the best coffee I had all day (and I'd had a few!). Our server was attentive without being invasive and although we were next to the full bar we could still hear each other ."

  • "I brought my foodies in from Brooklyn. We ended up spending four hours there! They loved it! It's a haunt of mine that NEVER ceases to please!!!! The staff is so knowledgeable about the wine!! Really, they can tell you what valley , the grape varietal came up from, in like any country. So amazing! Also, after all that, get everything on the menu to go with, I love farm to table concept! Never expect the same thing twice!"

  • "The place is small, so make a reservation, but if I lived in this neighborhood, I'd be here all the time. The food is creative and excellent. They have an extensive wine list with the knowledge to serve you exactly what you want to drink. Just sit down, describe what kind of wine you'd like, and they will provide. Prices are really reasonable for the quality of food, wine, and service. A real gem."

  • "A good choice for Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. We made a very tasty dinner out of small plates. Duck salad, wood-ear mushrooms, and slab bacon were interesting and delicious. Scallops not. There was a large wine list and several interesting choices of wine by the glass. Service was informal, friendly, and attentive. Quarters are tight and intimate. There is music but not above the conversational level. We would definitely go again."

  • "We came here for an early dinner before a show. We started with the olives and goat cheese crostini, both of which were delicious. The bread served with the olives was also good- chewy on the inside with a crisp crust. The goat cheese crostini are a must- generous amount of cheese and the pumpkin seeds are a great touch. Then we got the duck salad, which was my favorite plate. The duck was very succulent and the dressing was so good! The meatballs also tasted good and were moist, but a bit too burnt on the outside. The pumpkin pudding was good, but not the most exciting dessert. The prices for the food are reasonable, but the beer and wine are overpriced, but are good quality. Great place, but small, so make a reservation."

  • "I made a 6:30 reservation here for a two-person business dinner. The waiter rushed us to order to the point where I had to tell him we weren't there pre-theater, to which he replied, "Fine, but I need this table at eight." I checked OpenTable and reservations were wide open. And, of course, this would be a rude thing to say to a customer in any case. Not having ordered, we paid for our drinks and left. How's the food? Who would care to find out with the waiter standing there with a timer? It's supposed to be dinner, not a game show."

  • "Kilo is one of a number of very small wine bars in the neighborhood that offer a relief from the generally mediocre, often touristy-feeling places around. Food was fantastic and seemed well-priced for the portion size. Excellent wine list. Our server this evening was harried and a bit lacking in friendliness--but this was more than compensated for by the bartender, who has a great attitude and knowledge of wine. We will definitely be back soon!"

  • "My husband and I went here on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar. Tip: it seems you need a reservation even to sit at the bar (we had one) but we saw them turn people away who tried to casually sit there. So get a reservation before arriving. It's a small place so I'm sure that's why. Everything we ordered was excellent - the meatballs, crostini and skillet kale were standouts. Great wine list and the bartender (I think he was a somm) was impressive and chose wines that we absolutely loved. I wouldn't go here with more than 4 people because it's an intimate space. Great for couples."

  • "I have been to kilo twice, the first the food was good and the ambiance was cozy, the second time, I was turned off from returning for good. I brought two friends from out of town and was greeted at the door at 8:23 for an 8:30 reservation with a gruff reminder that my table wouldn't be ready until 8:30, this was followed by us being seated at a table for 2 even though the reservation was for 3 and another annoyed look when we asked for a third chair. When the waitress stopped at our table she was also rude and informed us that they were out of three of the items on the small menu and then told that they had another reservation at 10 and that they needed us out of there in an hour and ten minutes. I would never recommend kilo to anyone."

  • "We had some difficulty finding kilo as it is barely wider than the doorway, and were a bit taken aback when we were seated at a table with soot from the candle extending up the wall. But once the food started arriving, we knew we had not made a mistake. The portions are a bit larger than the tapas we are used to. I don't know if that is typical for NY (we're from out of town), or just this location. The warm duck salad was particularly good."

Food was brought out gradually as tapa should be, and each wasmore delicious that the last. Great service. Good wine options and all at a veryreasonable price for NY standards. Such a nice option away from Tihes Square if you have a show to catch. Highly recommend."

  • "I have been to Kilo twice now. The first time it was phenomenal and the waiter was very knowledgeable. Food and wine were both excellent. It wasn't very crowded which was nice. Cute atmosphere but very intimate. Went back last weekend and made a reservation with my boyfriend. The staff was accommodating like the last time but they had already run out of two of the things we ordered off of the menu which was disappointing. Very crowded this time... but it was a Saturday evening... the food was still good but we were still bummed about the missing items. Overall it's a cute place with interesting tapas and great wine."

  • "I love tapas...and I'm always looking for new places to eat them. I liked how Kilo doesn't have the classic tapas selection - instead . I loved the relaxed ambience and enjoyed sitting at a high top table. The dim lighting provides a lovely romantic feel. Our favorite dishes were the kale and seafood tacos. The bartender was extremely helpful - my boyfriend wanted a Hot Toddy but their bar only has wine and beer - the bartender was so helpful and made a special sangria concoction which was even more delicious than a Hot Toddy. My only complaint was that many of our tapas came out without a serving spoon making it hard to split amongst us. All in all, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others."
