A word from Killen's Steakhouse
Don’t let our building fool you, we are an upscale steakhouse right in the heart of Pearland. We are the only restaurant in town serving Allen Brothers USDA prime beef, as well as the prestigious Texas-raised Akaushi Kobe beef. Certified Executive Chef Ron Killen has returned to his home town after training at Le Cordon Bleu and honing his culinary skills throughout the U.S. Our hand-cut steaks are cooked to perfection on a state of the art infrared broiling system that seals in the natural juices of the steak, creating a one of a kind “melt in your mouth” experience. All of our food is prepared fresh daily, using only the finest produce and freshest ingredients. Even our sinfully rich desserts are homemade and the only thing frozen in our kitchen is the ice cream! Come in and see what the whole country is talking about!Continued

  • "The reservation was canceled due to a kitchen malfunction. Will try again..."

  • "This was a very special treat for us. My wife celebrates "birthday week" and this year her quest was to find the best ribeye she had ever eaten. She did...at Killen's...our 4th stop. James was helpful, attentive and very knowledgeable on menu items. The only downside to a wonderful dinner was the crab cake appetizer. It was so good, nicely prepared and presented, that both of us just wanted more and to just skip everything else. Glad we didn't as the steak, and sides were very tasty....try the mushrooms...they should come in a dish large enough to bathe in. Then came the carrot cake. James explained the process used to create it and took us to back to watch. Over the top good."

  • "Our entire experience was amazing. We knew the place must be good, as we had tried several times to make reservations on Saturday nights. When we had plans on that side of town mid-week, we decided to give Killen's a try. What a treat! We will definitely be back!!"

  • "We were celebrating two birthdays and Killen's was an amazing experience. Very pricey, but worth every penny for a special occasion. We all agreed, the best steaks we had ever eaten. All the sides were delicious, especially the corn risotto. Service was perfect. Our waiter was able to answer all our questions without hesitation. Will definitely go again when we have a special event to celebrate."

  • "This occurred on 7-9-2014 - I hear the food is good but I didn’t get to try it. As we were ordering the place filled with nauseating smoke from the kitchen because their smoke fan broke down. We were given an apology and told they were shutting down. It was disappointing we made babysitting arrangements and drove a long way to eat here for my wife’s birthday and they were unprepared for this fan issue. They apologized but made no offer for complimentary anything on the next visit for our inconvenience. Thankfully we were able to get in at Eddie V’s on Kirby one of our favorite spots and saved the night. Not sure if or when we will give Killen’s a 2nd chance."

  • "This was my first time trying Killens. Anniversary dinner. Best steak. Better than any other high end steak house."

  • "Absolutely the best steak and side items I've had! What makes the experience more enjoyable was the fact that this steakhouse is located "off the beaten path.""

  • "The food, service and wine offerings were outstanding, as usual. The addition of valet parking was very welcome."

  • "As always, Killen's Steakhouse was excellent. Food was outstanding from the appetizer to the desert. We brought some family from out of town and they were blown away. Best steaks they had ever eaten."

  • "Killen's steakhouse is as bad as their BBQ is good. Very loud and very long wait between ordering and food arrival. My asparagus appetizer was in cased in an armored breaded covering. I had to remove the breading forcefully to get at some pretty bad asparagus. My steak was very dry and very bloody. Definitely not medium. Save your money and take this off your list of places to eat."

  • "The pork belly appetizer was very good. Nice beefsteak tomato with bleu cheese and red onion. My wet-aged filet was med-well and a bit dry (ordered medium). Washed down with a nice Cab. Skillet potatoes were good. Seemed a bit rushed; wanted to linger as it was our 30th wedding anniversary. Had our -- shall I say -- "dessert" at home. Surprised at the jeans and shorts for such a pricey restaurant."

  • "I have had steaks all over the world at some of the best spots and this place holds its own and is easily top 5 in the country. Every side dish is amazing as well. Seriously try it if you doubt; make the drive from Houston you will not regret."

  • "I have been to Killen's on multiple occasions and the food/service are excellent. However, they need a remodel due to extremely low ceilings and an unappealing appearance. The steak and cream style corn were fabulous..............as well as the bread/wine. Note: The wait staff are fantastic and this remains the best steak house in the Houston area. It's a hidden gem. I am not sure that move to a fancy Houston venue would improve anything. In fact, I think the location sets this restaurant apart from the Flemings, etc. in Houston. They are trying to serve too many people and the quality suffers. Also, they are boring and pretentious."

  • "My wife and I went to Killen's steakhouse for the 2nd consecutive year for our anniversary. Our visit last year was perfect, however this year was disappointing and we will not return. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and it came out rare and my wife asked for her steak to come out medium-rare and it came out medium to medium well. Our server stated that they cook steaks by feel. Well since my New York Strip was nearly 2 inches thick feel alone will not suffice in making sure it was cooked to temperature. Plus the steaks were way over seasoned as well as the creamed corn which I could not even eat. When I visit a high end steakhouse, I expect perfection, but I guess Chef Killen is too worried about his BBQ restaurant right now."

  • "Killen's Strube ranch rib eyes used to be one of the best steaks in Houston, if not the best. Last few visits have seen a steady decline with the last time being the absolute worst. Steak was tough and chewy. Sent it back and the second one was only marginally better. Will no longer be driving to Pear Land."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary at Killen's Steakhouse. We hadn't been there since it initially opened so this was only our second time to visit. The food was awesome and the service was just as impressive. We know the prices are on the expensive side and we only did this because it was a special occasion. However, we were so impressed that we will try and return sooner than later. The only negative comment I have is that I felt like the dining areas were a little tight and you had to wait on people to get out of the way in order to make your way to and from the restroom."

  • "We had our waiter, Patrick order for us and his choices were phenomenal. The cream corn was delicious and had them to make it spicy really hit the spot. The New York Strip was perfectly cooked. Nice crisp on both layers. Definitely should try this place and ask for Patrick as the waiter."

  • "This was our first visit to Killen's with our sons. If it is true that parents can only ever be as happy as their least happy child, then my husband and I had no excuse to be UN-happy. We all enjoyed "the best steaks ever!""

  • "Both of us ordered steak which was prepared very well. The corn was a little spicy which I feel might have been by accident. The cream spinach was mediocre. I was excited about the cocktail list which has a number of bourbon, gin, and vodka drinks. The waiter was knowledgeable and nice. The one complaint would be in reference to the restroom which was overflowing. She notified the hostess who commented that this happens often. For a restaurant of this caliber, there should be more than one stall for women and the hostess should have been more prompt in rectifying the problem. I also mentioned in my reservation that we were celebrating an important graduation but it was never recognized. Good steak but not sure if it's worth the drive."

  • "The staff was great. The scallops were out of this world. But the steaks were not good at all. The texture was great, and they were cooked just right, but all I could taste was hickory."

  • "We made our reservation almost a week in advance to celebrate an anniversary dinner. As always the food was phenomenal. However, the ambience and service were so so for a special dinner. Our table for two was right by a yellow "caution wet floor" sign and tightly sandwiched between other tables in center of dining room.Obviously the air conditioner had leaked earlier. No water at time of dinner but not very special to have a caution sign by your chair. Service was okay. We have had spectacular service at Killen's but this night just okay. Had to ask if there were specials and waited long time for order to be taken. We will return because steaks are the best. But, for price paid service should be exceptional and ambience stepped up ."

  • "DO NOT SKIP ANYTHING ELSE! Especially the carrot cake!"
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "The food is delicious. I could make an entree from the wedge salad and bread alone. However, I always succumb to the delicious snapper topped with crabmeat with a delicate, yet rich sauce on top. It's been three days and I'm still eating the carrot cake. The only complaints I have is there aren't enough wines priced below $75/bottle and some of the tables in the main dining room are situated too close to each other, especially those on either side of the columns."

  • "Killen's has never disappointed me. the broccoli cheese risotto is THE BEST!"

  • "It was fine. Our waiter was very good, the service overall was excellent. I'd eaten there before several years ago, and had an epic steak. This time the steak was just ok; not bad, but not a $60 steak in my opinion (I had the Strube Ranch Wagyu Ribeye, medium rare). It certainly was not the religious experience the first steak I had there several years ago was. Man that was good. Regarding ambiance, we had an air conditioner dripping onto a rag about a foot from our table the whole night, that was a little offputting. But, still, not terrible. Not even bad. Just, not what I would call a five star dinner."

  • "Best Chicken Fried Steak I've ever had! Sides were outstanding as well. New York Strip Steak was a wonderful cut of beef and perfectly cooked but it could have been seasoned a little better. Was a wonderful 40th birthday dinner. I drove 2 hours to eat there and it was worth it. I'll do it again."

  • "Restaurant was selected for our anniversary dinner. Reservations for desired date and time had to be made a month prior. Viewing the menu on-line, we had pre-determined our dinner selections. Unfortunately, the main course for which we had planned was not available. The substitute steak was very good, had an excellent seasoning and was cooked perfectly. All in all, still a good dining experience."

  • "Food and service were excellent but quite noisy so difficult for even a small table of 4 to converse. Will be back for the food!"

  • "I brought my boyfriend for a birthday celebration dinner and was extremely disappointed. The Cabernet I ordered was sold out. The Wagyu steaks were sold out except for the 32oz bone-in ribeye which I ordered for my boyfriend. They recommended another steak, but was disappointed and it was after 10pm and too late to send back to the kitchen. I also called earlier in the day to confirm my reservation and preordered the chocolate mousse cake for his birthday. It was sold out too and was served a chocolate cheesecake instead. I always look forward to eating at Killen’s and is my favorite steakhouse. This is the most disappointing dinner I had at Killen’s."

  • "Although the location is not the most convenient (at least to those outside of Pearland,) my steak was by far, the best, most flavorful steak that I have ever had, as well it should have been. The least expensive cut of meat works out to be $80 a lb., with the most expensive being $880(!) a lb. All soups, salads, and sides are extra. The crab cakes are amazing. The shrimp cocktail was perfect: huge shrimp, perfectly cooked. I had the $60 8oz filet and it was worth every single penny. At least, one can tell that their money is going to pay for the food and not for decor and ambience. While they have tried to make it as "classy" as possible, it is what it is: apparently an old ranch home that has been converted into a restaurant."

  • "My husband and I went there for our anniversary. The crab cake, steak, and bread pudding were by far the best that I have ever had. We will definetly be back soon!"

  • "Pulling up to the place there was almost a wreck due to the location being hard to see until you are 'on' it, and the valet parking attendants taking your car on the side of the road. There is no entry- reception area. The door stays open letting in flies! We were celebrating a birthday and there was a card at the table! Nice touch. The dry aged steaks were scrumptious. The crab cake was out of this world. Everything else was average. Killen has better mac/cheese and bread pudding at his BBQ house! The entree was not offered with cracked pepper. The waiter was attentive but didn't ask if we needed separate tickets. We will go back, for the crab cake and to share a strip steak with mushrooms."

  • "When you first eye the menu, you think hmm what's different? Omg! From the starter to the salad to the drinks and then on to the main entrée, sides and dessert. It was A h - may - zing. This was our first visit and we decided it would be special to go for my fiance and I birthday. Since they are two days apart we split the day down the middle. We have decided that on June 20th every year going forward that we will visit Killeen's to enjoy a delicious meal with a sumptuous carrot cake. I highly recommend that you try the carrot cake. I am hooked. And the crab cakes....let's just say you caught every crab in the ocean that day. I would highly recommend this establishment."

  • "Our kids gave us a gift card to Killens for our forty year anniversary. We were really looking forward to dining here.Surprised at the valet parking, the guy parked our car 10 feet away. The waiter was good, the food was delicious.I had chicken fried sirloin and my husband wanted the 16 oz.grass fed ribeye but they were out of them so he had the snapper. Both were very good.Throughout the whole meal, we had to swat at flies!! The waiter never said a word about the flies not even to apologize!!Our table was just inside the front door to the left.Felt like we were on the front porch , with the door constantly opening and people brushing past."

  • "I heard a lot about Killen's and eaten at the new bar-b-que joint down the street, but hadn't yet made it to the steak house until this week. The hosts and wait staff were welcoming, professional, and very knowledgeable about menu. We also brought along two kids under the age of ten, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating of them, including suggesting several kid-friendly options off menu. The kids ended up getting chicken finger and fries - very satisfying. The adults had crab cake, filet mignon, and NY strip (dry-aged), with a side of broccoli cheese risotto. If possible, the app and sides were even better than the steaks...and then we got two deserts (bread pudding, cheese cake) that finished the night perfectly!"

  • "Took wife to Killen's for our 42nd Anniversary. Chose Killen's because it has reputation as best Steakhouse in greater Houston area. Killen's is unique in that diners have choice of numerous local & international sourced cuts of beef. Waiter was extremely knowledgeable of all offerings. Wife & I each had dry-aged, WAGU steaks supplied from a local Texas ranch. Steaks & side dishes were outstanding. Great bar;before and after-dinner drinks were perfect. Very expensive, however, well worth it for a special occasion. Meal, Service & ambiance were superb, you get what you pay for & will not be disappointed!! Very difficult to get a reservation as average wait is 3-weeks. Open Table procured reservation in 48-hours!"

WE TOOK ANOTHER COUPLE WITH US FOR FATHER'S DAY AND THEY THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT!!! THE WIFE WOULD NOT EAT STEAKS UNTIL SHE HAD A KILLEN'S STEAK. NOW SHE SAYS, SHE WOULDN'T HAVE A STEAK ANYWHERE ELSE AND SHE WANTS TO GO BACK."
