I am not one to write reviews but I was beyond impressed. This place is AMAZING! Way better than III Forks. We were seated right away and they gave us a little card for our anniversary which was a very nice little touch. Patrick our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. We will be going again. The wet aged ribeye had such a nice salty crust to it. I was inspired by a fantastic meal, great company, and a lively conversation that could actually be heard across a round six top. I must say that Killen's lived up to glorious reviews we had read about for years. Who would believe that Pearland, that sleepy, sub-suburban village just south of Houston and the Harris County line in Brazoria County could harbor such a gem! I have had no better meal, and Houston is chock full of steakhouses, and Houstonians and Texans in general are a bit touchy when it comes to defefending their favorite one. The steaks are so tender and juicy, they melt in your mouth. Insalata caprese is my favorite salad with fresh, flavorful tomatoes and creamy mozzarella cheese. No dinner there would be complete without the creme brûlée bread pudding. If you get nothing else, you have to try this. We had never heard of Killen's until my CEO informed us of this restaurant near the holidays. My husband and I looked it up and decided to make reservations. What a lovely restaurant! It is truly an intimate ambiance. I can go on and on about our experience. The service was great, the food was fabulous, you name it... we enjoyed it, which is why my husband could not wait to return. We recently celebrated my husband's birthday at Killen's. There is only one thing I would change to make the experience even better... I would like the tables to be a little more spread out. We were seated promptly. We had to be at a performance downtown by 8pm so we informed our waiter of the time-crunch. Our orders were taken promptly and our meal was expedited.(Yes, we were in our seats in time for the performance.) Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and made some excellent recommendations. The steaks were made perfectly and the taste was amazing. Although it's a bit pricey, the experience was definitely worth the money. I definitely will be back as finances allow. Although I realize this restaurant is not meant for a person of my income level due to pricing; I see where it why it would be a great place for who it is designed for. The Dry Aged rib-eye 16oz is $50 and sooo very good. I had not had a steak that good. I learned that wet-aged is the normal that steak houses have available. My date had the Filet that was raised the typical Japanese style of Kobe. she stated it was very good. The waiter was very knowledgable on the processes and helped us pick out our sides which was the house and a wedge for salads, scallopped potatoes, fried pork bellies, and crab cakes. Also had the pork belly with cherries, which I loved. They had Kobe beef, which they don't carry all the time. We all got that. The service is enthusiastic and knowledgeable, the appetizers and sides were perfectly prepared, and most importantly, the steaks were top notch. There was a huge selection of beef from all over the world, all at different price points so there's something for everyone, here. Don't expect to get off cheaply, though- the prices reflect the quality of ingredients and the expert preparation of them. It's a pleasure to pay a premium for an excellent meal.
