A word from Killen's Steakhouse
Don’t let our building fool you, we are an upscale steakhouse right in the heart of Pearland. We are the only restaurant in town serving Allen Brothers USDA prime beef, as well as the prestigious Texas-raised Akaushi Kobe beef. Certified Executive Chef Ron Killen has returned to his home town after training at Le Cordon Bleu and honing his culinary skills throughout the U.S. Our hand-cut steaks are cooked to perfection on a state of the art infrared broiling system that seals in the natural juices of the steak, creating a one of a kind “melt in your mouth” experience. All of our food is prepared fresh daily, using only the finest produce and freshest ingredients. Even our sinfully rich desserts are homemade and the only thing frozen in our kitchen is the ice cream! Come in and see what the whole country is talking about!Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We have eaten here twice now, and both times Killen's lived up to the great reputation for one of the very best steakhouses in the Houston area. My favorite is the wet-aged Nebraska corn fed NY Strip. Or the dry-aged one if you like that much concentration of flavors. Either way you will not go wrong. The filets are top notch as well. Relaxed atmosphere. You'll need to get out in front for a good reservation time."

  • "Another amazing dinner at Killen's, not only is the food super (filet cooked perfectly & amazing sides); but, our waiter is always amazing. If you want good service ask for Ryan Powell."

  • "was very noisy, pretty sparse on ambience, had very good server, but felt rushed between courses (sure that not server's fault) very surprising for the high$ tghey charge ---- also, booked 3 weeks ahead and requested nice spot for 2 for anniversary, but placed at very back at two top by back exit door and next to a very loud 10 top ... not impressed -doubt will return even though food is good"

  • "We had long anticipated dining here and finally did. For the prices charged the steaks should have been perfect. After a strong sales pitch by the waiter discouraging our initial choice, we opted for the the Strube Ranch American Wagyu. My wife had the filet and I had the strip. They were cooked perfectly and the flavors were superb but my steak had a strip of gristle through the center that distracted from the experience. One hates to have to spit something into their napkin in public. The waiter showed little interest in my problem but was attentive and prompt otherwise. This is nit picking but for a nearly $300.00 tab I expect perfection."

  • "We had a filet and a snapper dish. Both were great. My only complaint was the parking. You were forced to use the valet, and the line backed up on a busy road. It was actually a little dangerous. At 5:45 on a Wednesday, there was PLENTY of parking. This place isn't located in the Galleria, its on Telephone road in Pearland!"

  • "We sampled the wet-aged, dry-aged, and Japanese Wagyu steaks. Superb. The meats were clearly explained to us to help us select the right steaks. The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and was able to strike the right balance of attentive without hovering over us. The wine, sides, and desserts were also superb. We also enjoyed the fact that the noise level was minimal. It was nice being able to enjoy the food and conversation without having to raise our voices. This really was a wonderful evening all around."

  • "Great steaks, great creamed corn, the best carrot cake we've ever had, HATE mandatory valet, we'll park at McCoy's next door and walk next time."

  • "This was our second time eating at Killen's Steakhouse. On both times that we have eaten here, the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The USDA choice Filet Minon was seasoned and cooked to medium perfection, and their Wagyu cuts are so flavorful and buttery in texture. I would have to say that, in my opinion, this steak place beats any high-end steak house chain out there. This definitely is a true gem in the Pearland area, and I always recommend this place to any foodie who wants to try out a unique-to-the-Houston-area experience."

  • "The food was exceptional however the ambiance was not! They really should upgrade this building. Paying top notch for my Waygu should be justified with a clean moderate bathroom facility! Water was leaking and this was a noted problem. Can you call a local plumer please! I should not have to fan flies from my dinner. It truly took away from the quality of the steak. I also understand that the food must be tasted when being made. But 3 different guys seen tasting and dropping the remains back in the dish is not acceptable."

  • "I have been to many of the upscale steakhouses in Houston and by far Killen's has the best steak in or outside the city. The meat selection is outstanding and the steaks are cooked to perfection. Creamed corn and the corn risotto are favorites. Don't forget to try the Vesper martini and the carrot cake. Well worth the trip."

  • "We were celebrating two birthdays and Killen's was an amazing experience. Very pricey, but worth every penny for a special occasion. We all agreed, the best steaks we had ever eaten. All the sides were delicious, especially the corn risotto. Service was perfect. Our waiter was able to answer all our questions without hesitation. Will definitely go again when we have a special event to celebrate."

  • "This was a very special treat for us. My wife celebrates "birthday week" and this year her quest was to find the best ribeye she had ever eaten. She did...at Killen's...our 4th stop. James was helpful, attentive and very knowledgeable on menu items. The only downside to a wonderful dinner was the crab cake appetizer. It was so good, nicely prepared and presented, that both of us just wanted more and to just skip everything else. Glad we didn't as the steak, and sides were very tasty....try the mushrooms...they should come in a dish large enough to bathe in. Then came the carrot cake. James explained the process used to create it and took us to back to watch. Over the top good."

  • "Our entire experience was amazing. We knew the place must be good, as we had tried several times to make reservations on Saturday nights. When we had plans on that side of town mid-week, we decided to give Killen's a try. What a treat! We will definitely be back!!"

  • "We were just leaving from Houston to drive to Killen's Steakhouse for a much anticipated 26th anniversary dinner. Just as we were getting on the West Loop, Killen's receptionist called to tell us that the kitchen had an incident and had to close. I am fairly sure that this is one of the first time that a restaurant has called me rather than have me show up to give me the bad news of a cancellation. I can't tell you much more than that, but we will try again. As to the ratings, I couldn't submit unless they were filled in (maybe tweak the form Open Table?). Thank you for the customer heads-up."

  • "This occurred on 7-9-2014 - I hear the food is good but I didn’t get to try it. As we were ordering the place filled with nauseating smoke from the kitchen because their smoke fan broke down. We were given an apology and told they were shutting down. It was disappointing we made babysitting arrangements and drove a long way to eat here for my wife’s birthday and they were unprepared for this fan issue. They apologized but made no offer for complimentary anything on the next visit for our inconvenience. Thankfully we were able to get in at Eddie V’s on Kirby one of our favorite spots and saved the night. Not sure if or when we will give Killen’s a 2nd chance."

  • "As always, Killen's Steakhouse was excellent. Food was outstanding from the appetizer to the desert. We brought some family from out of town and they were blown away. Best steaks they had ever eaten."

  • "Absolutely the best steak and side items I've had! What makes the experience more enjoyable was the fact that this steakhouse is located "off the beaten path.""

  • "Killen's steakhouse is as bad as their BBQ is good. Very loud and very long wait between ordering and food arrival. My asparagus appetizer was in cased in an armored breaded covering. I had to remove the breading forcefully to get at some pretty bad asparagus. My steak was very dry and very bloody. Definitely not medium. Save your money and take this off your list of places to eat."

  • "The pork belly appetizer was very good. Nice beefsteak tomato with bleu cheese and red onion. My wet-aged filet was med-well and a bit dry (ordered medium). Washed down with a nice Cab. Skillet potatoes were good. Seemed a bit rushed; wanted to linger as it was our 30th wedding anniversary. Had our -- shall I say -- "dessert" at home. Surprised at the jeans and shorts for such a pricey restaurant."

  • "My wife and I went to Killen's steakhouse for the 2nd consecutive year for our anniversary. Our visit last year was perfect, however this year was disappointing and we will not return. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and it came out rare and my wife asked for her steak to come out medium-rare and it came out medium to medium well. Our server stated that they cook steaks by feel. Well since my New York Strip was nearly 2 inches thick feel alone will not suffice in making sure it was cooked to temperature. Plus the steaks were way over seasoned as well as the creamed corn which I could not even eat. When I visit a high end steakhouse, I expect perfection, but I guess Chef Killen is too worried about his BBQ restaurant right now."

  • "I have been to Killen's on multiple occasions and the food/service are excellent. However, they need a remodel due to extremely low ceilings and an unappealing appearance. The steak and cream style corn were fabulous..............as well as the bread/wine. Note: The wait staff are fantastic and this remains the best steak house in the Houston area. It's a hidden gem. I am not sure that move to a fancy Houston venue would improve anything. In fact, I think the location sets this restaurant apart from the Flemings, etc. in Houston. They are trying to serve too many people and the quality suffers. Also, they are boring and pretentious."

  • "We had our waiter, Patrick order for us and his choices were phenomenal. The cream corn was delicious and had them to make it spicy really hit the spot. The New York Strip was perfectly cooked. Nice crisp on both layers. Definitely should try this place and ask for Patrick as the waiter."

  • "This was our first visit to Killen's with our sons. If it is true that parents can only ever be as happy as their least happy child, then my husband and I had no excuse to be UN-happy. We all enjoyed "the best steaks ever!""
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Killen's Strube ranch rib eyes used to be one of the best steaks in Houston, if not the best. Last few visits have seen a steady decline with the last time being the absolute worst. Steak was tough and chewy. Sent it back and the second one was only marginally better. Will no longer be driving to Pear Land."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "The staff was great. The scallops were out of this world. But the steaks were not good at all. The texture was great, and they were cooked just right, but all I could taste was hickory."

  • "DO NOT SKIP ANYTHING ELSE! Especially the carrot cake!"

  • "We made our reservation almost a week in advance to celebrate an anniversary dinner. As always the food was phenomenal. However, the ambience and service were so so for a special dinner. Our table for two was right by a yellow "caution wet floor" sign and tightly sandwiched between other tables in center of dining room.Obviously the air conditioner had leaked earlier. No water at time of dinner but not very special to have a caution sign by your chair. Service was okay. We have had spectacular service at Killen's but this night just okay. Had to ask if there were specials and waited long time for order to be taken. We will return because steaks are the best. But, for price paid service should be exceptional and ambience stepped up ."

  • "The food is delicious. I could make an entree from the wedge salad and bread alone. However, I always succumb to the delicious snapper topped with crabmeat with a delicate, yet rich sauce on top. It's been three days and I'm still eating the carrot cake. The only complaints I have is there aren't enough wines priced below $75/bottle and some of the tables in the main dining room are situated too close to each other, especially those on either side of the columns."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary at Killen's Steakhouse. We hadn't been there since it initially opened so this was only our second time to visit. The food was awesome and the service was just as impressive. We know the prices are on the expensive side and we only did this because it was a special occasion. However, we were so impressed that we will try and return sooner than later. The only negative comment I have is that I felt like the dining areas were a little tight and you had to wait on people to get out of the way in order to make your way to and from the restroom."

  • "It was fine. Our waiter was very good, the service overall was excellent. I'd eaten there before several years ago, and had an epic steak. This time the steak was just ok; not bad, but not a $60 steak in my opinion (I had the Strube Ranch Wagyu Ribeye, medium rare). It certainly was not the religious experience the first steak I had there several years ago was. Man that was good. Regarding ambiance, we had an air conditioner dripping onto a rag about a foot from our table the whole night, that was a little offputting. But, still, not terrible. Not even bad. Just, not what I would call a five star dinner."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Both of us ordered steak which was prepared very well. The corn was a little spicy which I feel might have been by accident. The cream spinach was mediocre. I was excited about the cocktail list which has a number of bourbon, gin, and vodka drinks. The waiter was knowledgeable and nice. The one complaint would be in reference to the restroom which was overflowing. She notified the hostess who commented that this happens often. For a restaurant of this caliber, there should be more than one stall for women and the hostess should have been more prompt in rectifying the problem. I also mentioned in my reservation that we were celebrating an important graduation but it was never recognized. Good steak but not sure if it's worth the drive."

  • "Restaurant was selected for our anniversary dinner. Reservations for desired date and time had to be made a month prior. Viewing the menu on-line, we had pre-determined our dinner selections. Unfortunately, the main course for which we had planned was not available. The substitute steak was very good, had an excellent seasoning and was cooked perfectly. All in all, still a good dining experience."

  • "I brought my boyfriend for a birthday celebration dinner and was extremely disappointed. The Cabernet I ordered was sold out. The Wagyu steaks were sold out except for the 32oz bone-in ribeye which I ordered for my boyfriend. They recommended another steak, but was disappointed and it was after 10pm and too late to send back to the kitchen. I also called earlier in the day to confirm my reservation and preordered the chocolate mousse cake for his birthday. It was sold out too and was served a chocolate cheesecake instead. I always look forward to eating at Killen’s and is my favorite steakhouse. This is the most disappointing dinner I had at Killen’s."

  • "Best Chicken Fried Steak I've ever had! Sides were outstanding as well. New York Strip Steak was a wonderful cut of beef and perfectly cooked but it could have been seasoned a little better. Was a wonderful 40th birthday dinner. I drove 2 hours to eat there and it was worth it. I'll do it again."
