Killen's SteakhouseWhy did it take us so longWe've lived in Pearland for 15 years and finally
decided to make reservations to Killen's. One
of the best restaurant we've ever dined at !!!
The food was wonderful and the service as well.
The crab cake was scrumptious, the salad
was very crispy, the steaks were prepared
exactly like we like them and dreamy, the
veggies were delightful!
What a wonderful treat!!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply the BestBeen here multiple times and it always delivers the very best. Love it!!!!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSteak lover's dream - ThereSteak lover's dream - There were so many choices, but the dry aged steak I had was outstanding. My wife had the venison chop, which was also very good, but the sausage that was served with it was almost better. Our only real complaint was that we had come in for something of a romantic dinner and it seems like all of the tables around us were having business meetings. One table behind us was even showing a slide show of some sort on a laptop. I will definitely be back for another great steak, but I'll try harder to not sit next to business guys abusing their expense accounts.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMspecial place for a specialoccasionFood great, service great without being overbearing. The fried asparagus with crabmeat & sauce the best we ever had.
the tile floor in the dinning area causes the noise level to be a little too much but, aids in the place being very clean.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest of the best! It's worth the drive from anywhere in the city! The steaks are mouth-watering, perfectly seasoned and perfectly prepared--the best in this beef-eating town. If there's any room left, order the carrot cake.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWent here for our 12th AnniversryWent here for our 12th Anniversry and had an excellent time. One of the best steaks I have ever had. The drink selection was great.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMworth the driveWe went with another couple and all 4 of us enjoyed our evening at Killen's. The crab cakes were delicious, the rib-eye steak we had grilled over wood and it was just the right amount of smoke and added so much flavor. We had fun and felt like we had stepped back in time a little bit- it's kind of an old fashioned steak house- but the menu definitely has something for everyone!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't let the outside deterDon't let the outside deter you. This is a great steak house. The wine list is extensive and what is online is not always what is available in house. Worth the drive to Pearland!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMarguable the best steaksThe steaks were phenomenal. The wine was exquisite. The service was good, the only thing we had an issue with was that it was very obvious the restaurant was trying to rush us out of place to make room for the next customers.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Steak Ever!Due to my boss's generosity, who rewarded my hard work by telling me to take my girlfriend to dinner and to bring him the bill for reimbursement, we decided Killen's was THE place. And it was indeed the right decision.
The cocktails were potent, the crab cake appetizer was divine, and the sweet potatoe fries and signature cream corn sides were very good. But, the Mishimi 14 ounce NY strips we each had were without a doubt the best steaks we had ever eaten. Prepared perfectly, the flavor was rich and the meat nearly melted in our mouths.
Justin's assistance in selecting the right cab, topped off a wonderful evening.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent food/serviceFriendly, efficient wait staff and best steak in Texas.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAll around fantastic.Steaks were at best no less than perfect. Service is impeccable. People are friendly and courteous.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMClose But No Cigar!!I had high hopes when I took my wife to Killens for a night out. The resaurant looks far nicer insde then the xteriror would indicate. We were seated quickly and the waiter went into detail about the various steaks available and the type of aging. Our appetizer was a pulled pork Samosa which was very good.
I ordered the ribe-eye medium well (wet aged) and my wife ordered the filet medium (wet aged) While my wife enjoyed her steak but I felt mine was over-cooked and a little tougher than I would expect for a Rib-eye.
Overall the meal was so-so and not what I would expect for the price.
I truly wanted it to be a great experience and yet it fell short.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMperfect steakThis is the secondtime we have been in about two years. The food and serviceis excellent. It is as good or better than I remember. My dry-aged New York strip was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The creme brulee bread pudding is ridiculously good! Great place for our anniversary dinner.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMYum!The food and atmosphere were just perfect. It was our first time dining there and we were very pleased not only with the high level of service but the delicious food as well.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMVery expensive, but a greatVery expensive, but a great place to celebrate those special moments. Great food and service. Nice to have a special place close without driving into Houston and dealing with traffic.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic again. Perfect service.Fantastic again. Were in Galveston for the weekend and drove up just for the steaks. Food was amazing. Great service. We will be back !5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful place!Great food and great service. I would recommend it.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLives up to the Hype! After hearing nothing but good things about Killen's, my wife and I took the drive from Sugar Land and had one of the finest meals of our lives. Started with fried asparagus with lump crab meat. Absolutely delicious. The waiter Patrick was awesome and really knew the food and wine! Dry aged Ribeye was to die for. All of the sides were great! Try the cream corn. It is incredible. Topped our meal off with the Creme Brulee Bread Pudding! Great meal!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMfirst timerMy husband had been to Killen's for a work dinner and couldn't say enough good things about it. Since he is not a foodie at all I figured I had to go. I am not one to write reviews but I was beyond impressed. This place is AMAZING! Way better than III Forks. We were seated right away and they gave us a little card for our anniversary which was a very nice little touch. Patrick our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. We will be going again. The wet aged ribeye had such a nice salty crust to it. It makes my mouth water just thinking about when we can go again.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThe Food and the service were exceptional and will definitely be dining there again.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AM"I love the relaxed feel of"I love the relaxed feel of this place - like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Corn Risotto was over the top a must to order as a side dish! Our order was SPINACH & CRAB PASTA, MESQUITE
BBQ BONE-IN SHORT RIB, BROKEN ARROW RANCH VENISON CHOP, CENTER- CUT FILET 10oz and my grandson had KOBE STEAK BURGER AND FRIES...................... everything was very good.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favorite! My wife of 34 years passed away two (2) years ago and our love of gourmet dining and cooking together came to a screeching halt. I was inspired by a fantastic meal, great company, and a lively conversation that could actually be heard across a round six top. I must say that Killen's lived up to glorious reviews we had read about for years. Who would believe that Pearland, that sleepy, sub-suburban village just south of Houston and the Harris County line in Brazoria County could harbor such a gem! I have had no better meal, and Houston is chock full of steakhouses, and Houstonians and Texans in general are a bit touchy when it comes to defefending their favorite one. I can honestyy say that Killen's needs to be up there at the top.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and ServiceKileen met up to the expectations that I had read about. The steaks and side dishes were great. Don't hold back on dessert. Their carrot cake is to die for. We also received great service. Overall a great place for a special occassion as this is a pricey place.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food and serviceThis was our third time dining here. The steaks are so tender and juicy, they melt in your mouth. Insalata caprese is my favorite salad with fresh, flavorful tomatoes and creamy mozzarella cheese. No dinner there would be complete without the creme brûlée bread pudding. If you get nothing else, you have to try this. You won't be able to stop thinking about it until your next visit.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, amazingAgain, Killen's was an amazing experience. from the hostess, to the wait staff to the incredible food. Thank you for another wonderful evening.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific!! Amazing food, fromTerrific!! Amazing food, from beginning to end--fried asparagus was delightful, lump crab cake was amazing and had the best sauce on it that wasn't too heavy or too light, Cesar was perfect, meat was just unbelievable, and the desserts were divine. Definitely pricey, but as a once a year thing, it is a night to remember.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMYUMSo glad we went here..not a fancy dress up place, but the food was outstanding...Will go again.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent & theThe food was excellent & the service was fantastic... We couldn't believe how extensive the wine was. No need to make a drive downtown with this neigbhorhood gem.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMKillens was hands down theKillens was hands down the best meal ive ever paid for!! From the fresh cut cream of corn to the made to order hickory smoked grilled steak was mouth watering. Quiet, intimate and very inviting. It was a wonderful dining experience4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a TreatKillen's is always the perfect place to go for a great steak and great wine. It was my wife's birthday and she really enjoyed the evening. We had the vaccuum coffee after dinner and it was worth the price. So smooth and full of flavor. I can't wait to get back for Mother's Day.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA true surprise to find thisA true surprise to find this excellent steakhouse in Pearland, Texas. Our server, James, was outstanding. We dined for my mother's birthday and we all loved it. We all agreed that Killen's served the best crab cake we've ever had. The steaks, potatoes au gratin and bread pudding were all wonderful. You get what you pay for, so be prepared to spend.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!!This was the best steak I have ever had by far, which beats out Ruth's Chris, Morton's, and Capitol Grill. Also, more economical than those others. Will definitely be going back. It was an anniversary outing, and the nice touch was a card on our table waiting for us, wishing us a Happy Anniversary.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I enjoy diningMy husband and I enjoy dining out. We had never heard of Killen's until my CEO informed us of this restaurant near the holidays. My husband and I looked it up and decided to make reservations. What a lovely restaurant! It is truly an intimate ambiance. I can go on and on about our experience. The service was great, the food was fabulous, you name it... we enjoyed it, which is why my husband could not wait to return. We recently celebrated my husband's birthday at Killen's. There is only one thing I would change to make the experience even better... I would like the tables to be a little more spread out. The tables are too close so you hear the conversations from surrounding tables which somewhat interferes with the full enjoyment.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent dinner, outstandingexcellent dinner, outstanding steaks, carrot cake is the bomb and wine priced very reasonably. I really should eat there more often.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWent with a group of New Yorkers,Went with a group of New Yorkers, very impressed. Quality food, best rib eye steak I ever had and a solid wine list. Prices are comparable with Morton's or Ruth Chris which was a little surprising considering the restaurant was 10 outside of Houston. Attire is business causal, jeans were OK. Would definitely return when I come back to Houston.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant was up to ourThe restaurant was up to our very high expectatiations as usual. The only negative was that everyy time we go, we see them become more interested in upselling their "off menu" items, most of which are pushing $100 and beyond. Overall, one if the best steakhouses in the Houston area.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placeOur second time there. The first time was so good we had to return to verify. Second time was even better. Not cheap but so much fun and the best steaks ever. Don't miss the pork belly or the black bean gumbo. Really exceptional service. Needed long notice for a prime time weekend table.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMService was outstanding !!!Service was outstanding !!! Items other than steak are Great. Will be highly recommended and definitely will continue visits.
The steaks are top of the line and cooked to perfection.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat steakhouse with impeccableGreat steakhouse with impeccable service. Love the building!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMabsolute favorite when I getabsolute favorite when I get the Hobby airport area. looks like the place is made of skidwood and serves roadside BBQ, don't be fooled this place has the best steaks cooked to perfection and unique appetizers. the interior is nothing less than upscale dining and atmosphere.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Steak of my life.I had heard so many great reviews about Killens, and I have to say it exceeded my already high expectations. I am an avid Steak lover, and in order for me to purchase a $50 - $60 Steak, it better be the best dang steak I ever had in my life, and well... It was Literally the Best Steak I have ever eaten. At these price's I just cannot afford to come here more than maybe once a year, but I will be counting the days until then. For the Hungry, I Highly recommend the Dry Aged 16Oz New York Strip. For those who want less, but want the most tender steak of your life, the Mishima 8 Oz Enter-Cut Filet. Add the Crab Cakes for appetizer, and Cream Corn for the side (Recommended by the waiter), and prepare to Smile; Even after the bill arrives.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic! Best Steak! BestFantastic! Best Steak! Best Everything! Can't wait until the next time!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThird time at Killen's. BestThird time at Killen's. Best steak you'll find in the Houston area - arguably better than Pappa's Bros Steakhouse. A true gem hidden away in Pearland!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThey had me at hello...The service was impeccable and had my husband and I sold within 3 minutes of walking in the door. I mixed up our reservation date, but they were still very accommodating. Of course, they didn't have to be, but doing so will definitely have us returning as regular patrons. The food was equally amazing.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMKillen's is simply amazing.Killen's is simply amazing. The food is superb! Waitstaff is fairly knowledgeable about the menu and able to guide your selections. The beefsteak tomato salad and French onion soup are perfect starters. Steaks are out of this world. Creamed spinach is delicious!
Restaurant is small so make reservations so you aren't disappointed.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had early reservationsWe had early reservations (6pm) and the place was already full when we arrived. We were seated promptly. We had to be at a performance downtown by 8pm so we informed our waiter of the time-crunch. Our orders were taken promptly and our meal was expedited.(Yes, we were in our seats in time for the performance.) Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and made some excellent recommendations. The steaks were made perfectly and the taste was amazing. Although it's a bit pricey, the experience was definitely worth the money. We are already making plans for our next visit!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
