Kil@WatNice place, would go to againHad a nice selection for entrees. Good place to go before a ballet or show, they work with you to make sure you're not late. Some people were wearing jeans but others were more formal.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience, kinda priceyIt was a great experience, but it didn't come cheap. Just have that in your mind when you go and you will have a fantastic experience!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentThis is my 3rd year in a row to attend a conference in Milwaukee. Dishes & utensils were cleared & replenished. Food was tasty, well presented except for a couple of dry rolls. Staff was concerned that we have plenty of time to make the Florentine at 7:30!!
Will return!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLovelyA lovely place overlooking the most happening area in downtown Milwaukee. Decor is contemporary. Food is not only very good but has a lovely presentation. My husbands scallops were divine. The waiter was phenomenal in getting us served and fed in time for our show at the Pabst.
We will be coming back.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food Great ServiceMy husband and I had dinner at Kil@wat prior to seeing a show at the Stackner Cabaret. This is our second time eating here and on both occasions the food was fantastic! The space is beautiful and I love the windows overlooking the street especially the PAC. Our server Will really made the meal all the more special he really was charming and knew how to manage the table in order to get us out on time for our show. From the fois gras, to the salads, to the NY strip and my rosemary polenta to the chocolate desert everything was beautifully prepared and presented. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal at a good price. They have a pre- theatre deal of 3 courses for $30.00 that is a fantastic option!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed a Saturday night earlyEnjoyed a Saturday night early dinner here before a show at the Pabst Theater. Service was outstanding- from hostess, to server to manager who stopped by twice to make sure we were enjoying our visit. Food was perfect! I find that the high end establishments that really pay attention to service, many times, are lacking just a little in the kitchen. All meals were delicious and seasoned properly. Lacking in pretention, which is a good thing. Will definitely return.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was off and weThe service was off and we did not get to eat the dessert we ordered on the pretheater menu.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellentThe service was excellent and so was the food. The food was both pleasing to the palate and the eye. The staff were coherent of our committment to the symphony without being notified.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came early because we wereWe came early because we were attending a performance so the noise level was great when we got there. Service was super fast, and very courteous. Our food was really good.
My only negative was the hip and trendy wine glasses that serve no purpose...the reds don't breathe and the whites get warm because your hands are around the part of the glass with the wine. I hope this is a passing trend. Otherwise great experience.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the treetini cocktailLoved the treetini cocktail and the donation to plant trees. Excellent squash soup!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was fabulous, delicious,The food was fabulous, delicious, healthy and perfect portions. The service was excellent, each server doing an excellent job. However, having several servers caused our boxed leftovers to be "temporarily lost" thus left behind.Overall, an excellent experience.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and serviceOutstanding food and service with a terrific view....wine list was great too...can't ask for anything more. Service is always good. SOOO convenient if going to the Marcus Center.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe returned to Kil@Wat forWe returned to Kil@Wat for dinner before attending a symphony performance. We ordered off their pre-theater menu. We started with the bacon wrapped dates. If you haven't tried them, this is the place to experience them. After the appetizer, we had the short ribs and followed that with a chocolate dessert. The three courses are at a fixed price and definitely a nice addition to the menu. Our server was prompt and very knowledgeable. We shall return and we continue to recommend this restaurant to friends.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-Show MenuKil@Wat offers a "Pre-Show Menu" for folks heading to the theater or a special event after dinner. For a fixed price ($30), you can choose among options for salad/appetizer, entree and dessert. And the food is the same great experience as ordering off the full menu.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOur experience was wonderful. Our experience was wonderful. The waiter was highly trained but friendly and really listened to our needs without being pretentious. The music was relaxing and not too loud. We had the maple glazed pork chops which were perfectly done and the New York Strip came with beautifully sautéed leaves of Brussels sprouts. Even the bread was great and the butter was a delicious slightly sweet. We had a flight of Purple Door ice cream for dessert and it was the smoothest ice cream we have ever had. We will definitely be back.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Food at Kilawatt is consistentlThe Food at Kilawatt is consistently very good, while at the same time refreshingly different without being overly adventursome.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAbove the FrayDefinitely not the conventioneer's blah hotel restaurant. Tucked into the second story corner of Milwaukee's Intercontinental Hotel, the restaurant overlooks the Performing Arts Center and Red Arrow Park's winter ice skating rink. Muted orange beige decor, soft lighting and window booths create a pleasant, quiet atmosphere. An interesting roll assortment arrives shortly after the menus. Entrees are attractively plated and present a delicious blend of seasoning, textures and flavors. Altogether a pleasant encounter in the heart of the city.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat poached eggs!Wanted a restaurant near the PAC that was open on a Sunday for lunch/brunch. Kil@Wat was perfect. Easy to find. Staff was very friendly and helpful with little things such as offering to take our coats and hanging them up in a closet. Waiter was prompt to our table and very polite. Spoke enthusiastically about the different menu selections. Both of us enjoyed our selections. My poached eggs were done to perfection. I had what was described as poached eggs with smoked ham, tomatoes on sourdough bread with mushroom sauce and balsamic drizzle. It was very good. At no time were we rushed. On our way out, the doorman even asked if we needed a taxi.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a great spot for earlyThis is a great spot for early evening dining-- they have a "pre-theatre" special-- three courses for $30.00, with very good options and speedy service.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food, service and decor! While staying at the Intercontinental hotel in Milwaukee, my wife and I enjoyed dinner at Kil@wat. Staff said the name comes from the street intersection, Kilbourn and Water streets, were the hotel is located. The menu is not extensive but had originality. We chose the $30 theater special that included an appetizer, entree and desert. It was a good value. All the food was very good. We liked that the atmosphere was subdued and relaxing. The table and chairs were comfortable. The subtle overhead spot lighting made it easy to read the menu. The service at the bar and by the waitstaff was excellent. Being a midwesterner, I did like that the entree portions were hearty. The five chocolate desert was excellent.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a great spot for brunchThis is a great spot for brunch before a musical performance at the theater across the street.
