  • "WONDERFUL SERVICE AND FOOD!! Seriously, it's ridiculous how much we love coming here. Both the evening and daytime staff are fantastic!"

  • "Have a quiet cozy view of downtown Milwaukee with a culinary treat. Moderately priced memorable cuisine. Especially good when combined with a downtown theater experience."

  • "What an amazing meal we had here( yet again). Our server, Graham, was extremely well prepared for the event that is my parent's anniversary, arranging special appetizers and aperitifs and also selecting wonderful wines to accompany all courses. His knowledge of food and wine is considerable and he is always happy to guide us through the menu and help us decide what to get. The kitchen staff are so professional and creative, that we have to stop ourselves from running in there and hugging them all. Thank you to everyone at this great establishment! We have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and are NEVER disappointed. The staff are always great and the food is too. LOVE IT HERE."

  • "We like the restaurant space - windows overlook the Marcus Center and the traffic on Water Street. Our Manhattan cocktails were a bit small. We both ordered the filet for dinner. What we got were two slices each of beef tenderloin which were tender and cooked to medium rare as requested.. A sauce served with the meat was a watercress hollandaise which didn't look very appetizing and added nothing to the dish. The pineapple upside down cake was a deconstructed effort that was light on pineapple and didn't have that caramelized crust we associate with that dessert."

  • "Nice Downtown View, with limited but great food choices. Very elaborate Wine List with lots of cocktail options and presentable dessert menu. I would recommend couples or adult groups to visit for sure. It's kid-friendly but I would not take very small kids, or kids younger than 10/12 years old. Nice romantic setting, upscale dining with a good view and good food."

  • "It is appreciated that servers always ask if you are going to a play or show, so that the timing is right for your dining experience!"

  • "Had dinner with three friends on March 29....food was fantastic! The service was superb.....Graham,, our waiter, was very professional and very customer service oriented. He really made the evening a very good time!"

  • "This was a recommended restaurant for brunch, but the menu at 1 p.m. on a Sunday was only breakfast. Host acted put out that we had an Open Table reservation and almost threw the menus onto our table. Our waitress showed up after we'd been at the table 10 minutes, then took another 5 to bring my companion a drink. My tea took 10 minutes more (hello, it's burnch and I have to wait 20 minutes for tea?) and shethen got my order wrong. No one checked up on us until we were half finished eaing (can I get the correct tea now, please). All in all, it just seemed like the dining room staff was not happy to be there. They spent most of the time we were there at the bar away from the diners. I can't recommend you try this place."

  • "We had a coupon to use so we tried it. The food and service were great. We will definitely be going back especially if we have a function near by. We would highly recommend Kil@Wat."

  • "Terrific service and modern atmosphere in the heart of Water Street."

  • "Everyone in Milwaukee knows that doing dinner and a show at one of Milwaukee's downtown theaters is a great night out minus the parking. This restaurant not only has great flavor in it's food, but it's location inside the Continental building offers amazing convenience for you and your party to meet for a nice meal and simply walk to the theatre without re-parking and scrambling to the the show. Allowed for a relaxing evening all around. Service was good. Well staffed with a good sense of service teams taking care of sections with ease. My only complaint is the lack of sincerity in the staff. It is possible to have an upscale restaurant without the young service "trying" so hard to be "upper rust". Advice: relax a little and be yourselves."

  • "We dine frequently at Kik@Wat and are never disappointed. We find it a wonderful place to go before attending a venue at the PAC."

  • "Due to many events going on in Milwaukee last Saturday it appeared that the restaurant had overbooked the space. We arrived early for a 6:30 reservation and were unable to be seated until after 7:00. This set back impacted our enjoyment of the dinner. The staff labored mightily to the situation but we had to leave early to make the Symphony start time. What little of the dinner we were able to eat was very tasty."

  • "What a great breakfast. Food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. I generally eat here for dinner, but need to keep it in mind for breakfast as well."

  • "Three girl friends and I wanted a good restaurant that was centrally located to get together and catch up socially. Kilowatt filled that need perfectly! We all had the amazing "Big Boy Burgers" which Milwaukee natives may remember having at the Big Boy restaurants that used to be all over Southeastern Wisconsin. Marcus Corp. owns the recipe and Kilowatt is the place to find these incredible burgers. The wait staff was awesome and very attentive to four very lively women out with the sole purpose of enjoying an evening with good friends. The decor in Kilowatt is contemporary but extremely comfortable. They should open a gift shop and sell the neat salt and pepper shakers and other unique serving pieces!"

  • "I've been in search of the perfect brunch for quite some time now and I have been to some very appetizing places and a few not so stellar venues as well. Kil@wat is now on my top 5 favorite brunches in the MKE area. It has an upscale ambience with modern decor and is almost too quiet in the morning. The bloody Mary's were fabulous, however the garnishes were ill-proportioned between my dates and I's drinks (minor detail). Our waitress was sweet and friendly which definitely earned her a nice tip. The food far beat my expectations and was moderately priced for the hotel it is located in. Whether staying for the night or lookkng for a hangover cure Kil@wat's ambience and cuisine will leave you with a satisfied experience."

  • "Pork chop special with cinnamon was great. Pork shank was a little "gamey" Eat here a lot and enjoy the service and menu. Big Mac appetizer is a real throw-back delight"

  • "Every time I visit this place, the staff surprises me with great things. The treatment is beyond special. The moment you walk to the host, the smile, the ambition, & the positive attitude, takes it to a whole new level. It was our anniversary, we are on the system as regulars. They know a lot about our taste, how we like the service to the finest details. Table was reserved with a sign to the magnificent view of the downtown, water street and the skating ring. On the table, 2 glasses of champaign with Raspberry floating. That was a really nice surprise and elegant touch from the management. Food & service were as usual delicious & excellent."

  • "4 of us dined at Kil@wat before a play on saturday evening (2 adults, 8 year old and 12 year old). I had filet mignon and it was excellent except for some bitter watercress on the plate, older child had salmon and it was delicious. Younger child had rainbow trout which I did not try but it looked like it was good. My husband had a lake perch special which looked impressive when served but was over breaded and underseasoned. My husband said he would not return based on that entree."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Very disappointing. A 30 minute wait for the entree from the salad being finished until entree arrived. Had the special of the evening...a pork chop dinner. Chop was very tough and we had less than 10 minutes to enjoy...had theater tickets which we told our server upon arriving. My wife had the pasta which was just okay. This was a second disappointing meal here in the last six weeks. The kitchen is understaffed."

  • "My husband and I found Kil@Wat when searching for a pre-theatre restaurant (Pabst Theater). It is on the second floor inside the InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel. It was a great choice! The restaurant is beautiful. The staff was helpful and friendly. They have a pre-theatre menu (3 courses for $30 each) that was more than adequate for many tastes. The food was perfectly prepared and presented. The regular menu looked great as well. We had a wonderful experience and recommend the Kil@Wat."

  • "We took my Grandson to Kilowat in MKE for his 16th birthday. My husband and I had filet mignon. Grandson had the pork shank entree. We were all happy with our choices. My husband & grandson both loved the chili and I enjoyed the Arugala and radish salad. My grandson wanted the Banana Tiramisu dessert, but they were baking it at that time and we couldn't wait for it to be done. Instead our waitor treated him with the Triple Chocolate dessert and we also ordered the Pear cake dessert and shared both. Talk about heavenly.... both were superb. We have only dined at Kilowat 3 or 4 times, the ambience, service and food have been spectacular every time. There is no way to improve the dining experience, since everything was perfect!"

  • "Nice views. Staff was extremely accommodating, polite, and helpful. I was seated next to a slightly rambunctious group, otherwise the noise level would have been lower. Would like to see more menu options."

  • "I had suggested Kil@Wat as the place for the luncheon meeting. The person that I met with suggested a luncheon meeting near where I work (downtown Milwaukee), rather that her work location (HWY 108 & Wauwatosa). I knew that Kil@Wat was the perfect setting as there is parking availbel with the underground lot, the noise level is condusive for a meeting, the ambiance is perfect as is the view from a window table, and lastly, the food is very good. Our lunch was delicious, the service was great, and the meeting was productive."

  • "We usually go to Kil@Wat before we go to the Milwaukee Performing Arts Center or First Stage Children's Theatre. They never disappoint us. Their brunch menu has something for everyone. The window views of the Milwaukee skyline are terrific. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We came to this restaurant originally due to it convenient location to theater. There are good city views from many of the tables. The service and food were both excellent. They have a pre-theater 3 course meal which was also priced attractively. We'll be back!"

  • "I eat at Kil@Wat virtually every time I go to Milwaukee. (I live about 30 miles west of Madison.) I was disappointed that the kitchen was under repair and so I couldn't have my crabmean eggs Benedict, but I understood perfectly. The buffet was very good."

  • "Kilowat is the best spot for dining when going to an afternoon performance at the Marcus Center, Pabst, or Rep. And, of course, it is also excellent for an evening event. I have afternoon ballet tickets and an always interested in finding a good dining experience."

  • "We went to Kil@wat for our Valentine's Day dinner- the day after. I was impressed that they were still offering special prices the day after V-Day. The service was excellent and the food selection was very good. I would definitely recommend Kil@wat to others and will likely return."

  • "Kil@Wat is one of those places that you take your special someone on special occasions. After you leave you remember exactly why it is that you work so hard - so you can take her to restaurants like this."

  • "This was our first time to Kil@Wat. We went for Valentine's Day dinner and were very pleased. The scene was romantic with rose pedals even on the table. Our server was great and very attentive, but not overly attentive. I don't recall his name though. He knew a lot about the menu and was very knowledgeable. The food was very good and well prepared. The lime cheesecake was good, but the crust was a little hard. All in all, our experience was great and we will definitely return."

  • "Came here a few times for brunch & lunch during our stay in Milwaukee. We enjoyed it very much. The food was very good and they had a nice selection for both brunch and lunch. Burgers were cooked great and fries were crisp. Eggs cooked perfectly to order, and a great bloody mary. Prices were not bad for this restaurant being inside the hotel. Service was good, but I thought could have been a little more attentive for the brunch service, as there were not many tables seated. I was a little disappointed by the wine list. They had great diversity of wine grape varietals, but I thought the prices were slightly high for the vineyards they offered. So, we stuck to beer, and those prices were very fair."

  • "My sisters and mom enjoyed a really great brunch just across the street from the Marcus Center for Performing Arts just before an afternoon show of Evita. On a chilly day, having the underground parking was a bonus. The food was REALLY great and affordable. I am still thinking about the delicious oatmeal with apricots, apples and almond slivers. My sisters and mom enjoyed more hearty choices and each one said they were GREAT! The view of Red Arrow Park on a wintery day while we were seated in a cozy booth made for a very special day for all of us. To cap off a wonderful brunch, the show was great too and being just across the street with a short walk, it was all so perfect! It was a really special day for all of us."

  • "What a warm, romantic atmosphere with outstanding food selections. The pork shank is my favorite. Extended wine list and premium liquors make for a wonderful evening. The noise level is low to moderate so conversations are easy."

  • "We used to love this place for convenience to the Milwaukee Rep and delicious food. Something has changed as the food was mediocre to downright bad. I wouldn't go back."

  • "Food was good - wine (both red and white) was overly warm. Rrestaurant was very crowded with pre- theater diners. While they have a pre-theater menu we were never offerd it - heard the waiter tell the next table he only had one copy - if they wanted to look at it. Like Kilowatt, but it has lost a step.bb"
