A word from Kif on Dekalb
We created a place for people to experience eclectic warm Mediterranean/Moroccan flavors & forget even for just a meal about the daily stress of NY living. Committed to serving healthy and authentic meals, Kif was born with that vision in mind. A blend of warm & exotic inspirations dresses the main dining room. A 2nd room reflects the atmosphere of Bedouin evenings: candles, Moroccan lamps, cushions & a Bedouin tent above our heads (also available for private events). For the warmer months our garden in the back is lush w. plants, colorful benches & cushions. Referred to by all as the most beautiful garden in Brooklyn. Listed for 3 years in a row in the "Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand". The variety of succulent tapas, tagines and couscous (vegan options available) are a "solid notch above the competition" (Michelin 2012)

Very good neighborhood restaurant within walking distance of BAM. We went when it was extremely quiet (and early) and got an alcove table and the full attention of the waitstaff. Still, I'd trust them to do the same even during a rush.

Nice and simple north african food with warm service and very good desserts. This was my second time and I'm sure I'll go again.

Lovely garden area for eating. Nice atmosphere. Kif was busy on a Saturday night and I guess the ambiance is quite a draw because I can't believe they are all there for food. Sadly the food was pretty average. The hummus was great but everything kind of went downhill from there. Salmon special wasn't good and the lamb shank had so much cinnamon that it was difficult to eat. Service was good, wine reasonably priced. We're local to Kif so we were hoping it would become a comforting place for those Tuesday night when you don't want to cook. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and I won't be back.

  • About six us dined at Kif

About six us dined at Kif on a recent evening to celebrate a few birthdays and had a very good experience. We were seated in the outdoor garden, which was very lovely and quiet. The food was good, we particularly liked the hummus, the couscous and the eggplant. later in the evening there was music and 2 dancers doing what I think was flamenco. All in all, I'd recommend and will definitely go again.

Great food, excellent atmosphere. It's like an oasis in the middle of a busy neighborhood. The wait staff is very charming and charismatic. Also, a very tasty mixed drink selection.

I loved the owner and the service. The setting is nice & fitting for the food/menu. I was hoping for a creamier and more curry laden lamb meal, which I compare to an excellent Morroccan restaurant in Seattle, but I think this food was more french-inspired. Regardless, it was tasty & I'd return.

  • My wife and I went for Dine-In

My wife and I went for Dine-In Brooklyn week, but we ended up foregoing the prix fixe menu, which really didn't highlight their best choices. We ordered the Royal Couscous for two, and it was the best couscous we've ever had! We sat on the beautiful garden patio, but being there so early (6:30), it was virtually empty. Even though, we enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves, next time, we plan to go after 8:00.

There is a reason why the business card highlights "tent and garden" because that is all this place really has going for itself. The food is so-so. I've been to Morocco and had my share of their cusine enough to know what it should taste like. I didn't expect this place to tone down the flavors, but they did. Service was great and friendly and overall I would recommend this place for the ambiance and to dine on something different from the norm.
