KHONG River HouseGreat food, drinks, and service! You literally cannot go wrong with anything at Khong River House. The food is beyond excellent. The service is flawless and friendly and they have a ridiculous selection of gin (where else can you get Boodles in this town?). Oh yeah, and they have 43 different types of Negronis. The food certainly does not disappoint: the pork buns were ridiculously good with soft bun complimenting the crispy pork and the pickled goodness. The Pad Mi Korat is a must-try and cap off your meal with the Thai donuts. You will not be disappointed.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic!Looking for good Thai? Magda our server was outstanding as well.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a lovely restaurantThis is a lovely restaurant with very excellent service. My only complaint is that I thougnt that alcoholic beverages were a bit overpriced. The food was delicious.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Khong!Great for groups. We always take out of town guests to Khong bc it's I treaty with unique menu. Great choices for meat lovers to vegetarians! Service could use some improvement, but not horrible.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were there for lunch, soWe were there for lunch, so not noisy at all. Great design, comfortable seats, friendly and helpful staff. Interesting, delicious food. We all loved it!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent! Modern take onExcellent! Modern take on traditional Thai cooking... The age of our group ranged between 45 and 88 (her Birthday)...and everyone enjoyed the night! Our server was helpful and guided us through the menu...We all look forward to our next meal at Khong River House.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodPlace was jammed at 10:15 at night but our reservation was honored right away...a big Plus! Decor was great, food was fantastic and generous portions. Will definitely go again. Crispy prawns were incredibly good.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreen Curry was not the bestGreen Curry was not the best but the cauliflower stir fry, the
sausage And the pork balls were amazing. Will go again3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFood Amazing! Drinks average.Great meal! Pass on chicken curry. Milky and not flavorful. Duck amazing, noodle wraps everyone's Favorites. Martini was watered down.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOf the '50 Eggs, Inc.' restaurantOf the '50 Eggs, Inc.' restaurant endeavors... this is so far my favorite. Our wait person, Magda, was awesome. Interesting variety of dishes and flavors. Generous portions. Great gin drinks.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were pleasantly surprisedWe were pleasantly surprised by the exquisite flavor of each dish. The fod left such a good impression that we r are returning before we leave miami!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFun restaurant with good food.Fun restaurant with good food. Our only gripe was that the waitress was a little pushy, rushing us a little. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our meal and would definitely return.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMKhong is great for dinnerKhong is great for dinner and lunch, and the new brunch is spectacular! Waitstaff is informed, attentive, professional. Management is visible and connected. Food is authentic, well prepared with great ingredients, very good presentation. No complaints......Khong never fails to please.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing brunch! Great andAmazing brunch! Great and friendly service--very unlike usual south beach which was refreshing! Keep it up!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the best Thai foodThis is the best Thai food I have ever had. I highly recommend the tasting menu, because unless you've been to Thailand, you will be tasting many amazing dishes you've never had before. The menu describes it as "A culinary journey down the Mekong", and they're not kidding! Flavors upon flavors, upon flavors...you get the idea! Seemless, friendly service and fabulous food and drinks: Khong is a must-go!!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, amazing decorWas very impressed with both the food and the decor, this place is a great new addition to the "Lincoln Road Dining Options". Definitely worth checking out the bottomless bar for brunch!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place never disappoints! This was our second time at the restaurant and they continue to impress us. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. We were originally a party of 5 for Sunday brunch, but had a last minute addition. The hostess was able to accommodate the last minute change for us and sat us as soon as the entire party got there. We had a drink at the bar before sitting. The Thai Bloody Mary was fantastic, but make sure you can handle spicy flavors. Our server Natasha was very patient as we had three people who had never eaten there and so they had a lot of questions. Everything came out as it was ready and without too much interruption. My only complaint is that it is a bit too far from my home in Fort Lauderdale, but well worth the drive.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the ambiance and theLove the ambiance and the food was delicious! My only problem was with the drinks...We ordered some martinis and they weren't that good. Even with that, we will be back to try more dishes!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat new place!Love how the Miami restaurant scene keeps getting better. Thought Khong was great. The food seems truly authentic. The service was impeccable and the service outstanding. The gin drinks were delicious too. The only minor complaints was a somewhat weird small (that you get used to after a while) and the fact that the noodle dishes are heavy on noodles and light on other goodies (must say that the broths and sauces are outstanding though). Will definitely go back!!!!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Thai!Fantastic food and attentive service make this a place we'll return to regularly on our annual Florida vacation. Everything was interesting, beautiful and delicious.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent in Every WayKhong River House is a dynamic restaurant and as different from every other Thai restaurant in town as it can be. Hip in design, it has South Beach energy without a trace of attitude. The food, described as Northern Thai from the Mekong Delta embraces not only traditional Thai dishes but food from Burma and Vietnam as well. Exceptional attention to detail, bright flavors, and fresh ingredients are hallmarks. Be forewarned - at Khong, spicy means spicy. This is not "hot" tempered for wussy American palates; though a native Thai would probably still find it tame, if you ask for hot it will be mouth searing. Give yourself time to have a drink at the bar - the cocktail list is serious and respectful. Excellent in every way.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMflavors are out of controlflavors are out of control amazing. the duck is the best duck i've ever had in my life. we literally put the duck sauce on everything. also the thai gimlet was phenomenal. the food was just outstanding overall-- one of the best meals i've eaten in miami!3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMYardbird's cousin,w/ bright futurebetween us we shared 6 selections, in baseball terms the grilled eggplant & noodle boat were homeruns, the spicy green papaya salad and beef jerky were doubles, and the sausage and the mushroom soup were strike outs. the thai gimlet homerun the gin & tonic strikeout
the decor & atmosphere were done excellently,a feel of authentic but not gimmicky.
service was as would be expected this new to opening.
undeniably we'll be back. our experience on several occasions is that if you go too soon after opening, there'll be kinks that need straightening out.We have carte blanche blind faith the 50 Eggs people will have this place da bomb in short order.12/19/2012 12:00:00 AMDon't miss the Burmese noodle wrapsThis lovely bistro counters Miami's famous lack of "authentic" Asian tastes. At a price: Khong River is "chi-chi" expensive. Burmese wraps are a must-try; the spice paste filling is absolutely sublime.Rotisserie pork belly was grilled a little too dry but flavorful. Tofu salad was the least impressive dish, with tofu cubes deep fried to the consistency of croutons. Flavors were weak and the salad came with full sized lettuce leafs, which were a chore to cut and mix with the bland salad dressing. Grilled giant prawn was nice but, again, slightly overcooked to the point of dryness. If you have someone in your party who is afraid of assertive spices, the prawn is a good choice. I look forward to returning to try some of the spicier dishes.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PMFun, authentic feeling Thai-LaotianFun, authentic feeling Thai-Laotian cuisine served by passionate staff.
