Diner Reviews

  • "Ketchum grill is consistently excellent and inventive in their culinary offerings. Using always the freshest local produce And locally sourced fish, fowl and meats. The locals favorite place. If I had to wish for anything to change, a little more space between tables inside would be nice. And More comfortable outdoor chairs in the outside dining area. ( I suppose if chairs were too comfortable no one would Ever leave!! ) Excellent dining experience otherwise."

  • "This is a regular dining place for us when we are in Ketchum. A bit noisy due to the close proximity of the tables but always good food. The patio dining is preferred by us. I had the Ketchum meatloaf and my wife had the Ketchum Grill Oven Roasted Chicken. Both were prepared well and had exceptional flavor. Another pleasant dining experience in Ketchum."

  • "Service and food quality is good even during times when extremely crowded. The menu is a little limited, but, good. I would like to see a few more choices on salads"

  • "Friends from Seattle took our reservation after the symphony. They were ate late for the res as the symphony went on too long however, they waited forever for a glass of wine an were stuck on the back porch where they waited again for food that was poorly cooked:) Not good."

  • "Ketchum Grill is a charming little restaurant in a historic cottage in Ketchum. I love the old Sun Valley and movie poster decor and the cozy cottage setting. The food is consistently good, and the service friendly. Their lamb shank is always delicious, if you want a hearty dish, and they do a nice job with the fish specials, as well as most everything else. They always have a good pinot noir choice, my personal favorite wine, and a reasonable choice of others that I'm sure are good as well. It has a pleasant level of reasonable conversation, not noisy. It's good for a couple's night out, but also ok for well-behaved families. It satisfies my desire for "fine dining," without being overly precious, pretentious, or expensive."

  • "We love Ketchum Grill. The setting sitting outside on the patio is wonderful at night. The people that work there are very professional and friendly. The food is always consistently good and there are many options to choose from."

  • "I have been coming to this resturant for several years and have never been disappointed"

  • "The cheerful Ketchum Grill serves inventive variations on comfort food in a historic cabin and the covered deck is great after the Symphony, Writers' Conference, Craft Fairs, Gallery Walks, a Library Lectures and other summer events, but a cozy cabin setting on fall and winter nights. Chef Scott Mason and his highly trained kitchen, send out fresh grilled fish, lamb meatballs, mashed potatoes, steaks, oyster stew, fantastically herbed and spiced soups and chowders, all presented efficiently, cheerfully and politely. Parking is a snap. Serves early and late. They also own Enoteca, with a completely different menu, but also excellent. We are regulars at both. No bad news to report, sorry."

  • "We have had wild salmon many places worldwide….; however, last Wed, July 31 2014 was the best Salmon dinner ever, not just great, but the best. At the Kechum Grill . For us a must in the Sun Valley area. Service, wine all wonderful !"

  • "A very well run restaurant. I have years of restaurant management experience and it is a pleasure to dine in a restaurant where every little detail is done well. Thank you Ketchum Grill!"

  • "The food was excellent. Please try the meatloaf, it was fantastic. My had the salmon which she said was also excellent. We ate outside with a nice view although there was a little street noise."

  • "The food is outstanding. The summer terrace is a great place for a romantic meal or a group. We love the cold summer soups. The specials are always creative. Their basics (like lemon noodles) are a favorite as well. The fruit crisp is an awesome dessert."

  • "Busy night, maybe reason for slower service and meals. The homemade lemon pasta was not as tasty as usual. My husbands ravioli was the best."

  • "This restaurant has always been one of our favorites for the last 18 years. It has such a delightful, comfortable ambience and terrific food."

  • "Only been here one time and the general impression I have is that the food is excellent and prepared perfectly but the service is sub-par. It's like this place is trying to be fine dining, when fine dining just isn't in its DNA. It felt like the staff was trying to be fancy with their service but didn't know what to do. Maybe they need to bring in a consultant to teach the staff how to serve fine dining if that's the direction they want to go? The ambiance is comfortable, welcoming, and inviting, and again the food was really great."

  • "We've been going to the Grill and its predecessor for 40+ years. It is consistently an inviting place to go for dinner. The entrees are very good. Last night it was their comfort food--lemon noodles with shrimp, a couple of weeks ago the fish special. When you're looking for dinner in Ketchum, don't forget the Grill."
    Dined on 7/22/2014
  • "Special of the evening was a tough steak that was medium well despite my request for medium rare. Same veggie and terrible mashed potatoes as on other entree plates. Fettuccine with pesto standard issue. Nothing innovative or interesting here."

  • "We go to Sun Valley every year to ski, always eat at the Ketchum Grill, our favorite place in town. The visit we just had this weekend was very disappointing. 4 for dinner on a Thursday night, 7pm. Not overly crowded, but by the time we were done it was full. 4 meals ranged in quality from "ok" to almost inedible. Main course salad had wilted lettuce; the pesto in the pesto pasta dish was deemed by all of us as not even close to as good as store bought and simply bad; the sauce on the quail over linguine was clearly polluted with an unflattering seafood flavor; meatloaf was "ok". Service was average, but when 2 of the 4 meals have over half the food left you would think a reasonably astute server might ask if there was a problem."

  • "We visit Idaho each year from So Cal and always make a visit to the Grill. We are never disappointed. The staff is wonderful and the food amazing. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes unique and tasty. The only challenge is deciding what to order because all of the entrees are tempting. Save room for dessert."

  • "I just moved to Ketchum and met some great friends from Boise for an early supper and was delighted. Our server, Louise I seem to recall, was stellar. The wait staff very timely, yet not intrusive. The bread was wonderful, the salad crisp and light, and the halibut was prepared perfectly. The dessert was fruity, flavorful and didn't leave you heavy."

  • "We've been going to the KG for years, and have never been disappointed. Last night, the meat loaf was even a little better than ever before. Very good job on the pizza as well. No haute cuisine, just really good food...."

  • "Wonderful service, ambiance and great food! This is an institution in Ketchum / Sun Valley. The Lemon Noodles, Idaho Trout and Fettuccine with Pesto are my favorite dishes. The outdoor patio is covered and it's a perfect little nook for you and your guests. Summertime is so relaxing."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "You can't go wrong with lunch here. The people are friendly, the food fantastic, and they have a great wine list. The fish we had was cooked perfectly. Wonderful home made bread. By far the best place we ate at in Ketchum and the Sun Valley area."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "We returned to the Ketchum Grill again, and our experience mirrored our multiple prior visits; excellent service, setting, preparation and at a reasonable price."

  • "We had five for dinner. Four of us thought their dinner very good. One, who had duck, didn't think as good as other meals from the past. Great wines, though."

  • "The noise level is negligible waitstaff efficient and the food superb"

  • "We had not visited the Grill in a couple of years and as we always found before, the food was awesome and it was a wonderful place to spend our 19th anniversary. Thank you and see you again soon."

  • "Local restaurant that has been a favorite for years. Charming old structure with wonderful ambience. Food is always delicious, thoughtfully prepared and hot (or cold, if necessary.) Great menu selections. Staff has always been friendly, thoughtful and intent on pleasing without being overbearing. Going to the Ketchum Grill is always familiar and like "going home"."

  • "Food was very good as it always has been in the past. Service was adequate, but not as responsive as I would have liked. Biggest downer was the noise level inside; had to shout across the table in order to talk. Sit on the patio if want to have a conversation."

  • "A favorite. Always great food. Dependable. We go there all the time"
