Diner Reviews
  • "A very well run restaurant. I have years of restaurant management experience and it is a pleasure to dine in a restaurant where every little detail is done well. Thank you Ketchum Grill!"

  • "The food was excellent. Please try the meatloaf, it was fantastic. My had the salmon which she said was also excellent. We ate outside with a nice view although there was a little street noise."

  • "The food is outstanding. The summer terrace is a great place for a romantic meal or a group. We love the cold summer soups. The specials are always creative. Their basics (like lemon noodles) are a favorite as well. The fruit crisp is an awesome dessert."

  • "Busy night, maybe reason for slower service and meals. The homemade lemon pasta was not as tasty as usual. My husbands ravioli was the best."

  • "This restaurant has always been one of our favorites for the last 18 years. It has such a delightful, comfortable ambience and terrific food."

  • "Only been here one time and the general impression I have is that the food is excellent and prepared perfectly but the service is sub-par. It's like this place is trying to be fine dining, when fine dining just isn't in its DNA. It felt like the staff was trying to be fancy with their service but didn't know what to do. Maybe they need to bring in a consultant to teach the staff how to serve fine dining if that's the direction they want to go? The ambiance is comfortable, welcoming, and inviting, and again the food was really great."

  • "We've been going to the Grill and its predecessor for 40+ years. It is consistently an inviting place to go for dinner. The entrees are very good. Last night it was their comfort food--lemon noodles with shrimp, a couple of weeks ago the fish special. When you're looking for dinner in Ketchum, don't forget the Grill."
    Dined on 7/22/2014
  • "Special of the evening was a tough steak that was medium well despite my request for medium rare. Same veggie and terrible mashed potatoes as on other entree plates. Fettuccine with pesto standard issue. Nothing innovative or interesting here."

  • "We go to Sun Valley every year to ski, always eat at the Ketchum Grill, our favorite place in town. The visit we just had this weekend was very disappointing. 4 for dinner on a Thursday night, 7pm. Not overly crowded, but by the time we were done it was full. 4 meals ranged in quality from "ok" to almost inedible. Main course salad had wilted lettuce; the pesto in the pesto pasta dish was deemed by all of us as not even close to as good as store bought and simply bad; the sauce on the quail over linguine was clearly polluted with an unflattering seafood flavor; meatloaf was "ok". Service was average, but when 2 of the 4 meals have over half the food left you would think a reasonably astute server might ask if there was a problem."

  • "We visit Idaho each year from So Cal and always make a visit to the Grill. We are never disappointed. The staff is wonderful and the food amazing. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes unique and tasty. The only challenge is deciding what to order because all of the entrees are tempting. Save room for dessert."

  • "I just moved to Ketchum and met some great friends from Boise for an early supper and was delighted. Our server, Louise I seem to recall, was stellar. The wait staff very timely, yet not intrusive. The bread was wonderful, the salad crisp and light, and the halibut was prepared perfectly. The dessert was fruity, flavorful and didn't leave you heavy."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "We've been going to the KG for years, and have never been disappointed. Last night, the meat loaf was even a little better than ever before. Very good job on the pizza as well. No haute cuisine, just really good food...."
    Dined on 7/7/2014
  • "Wonderful service, ambiance and great food! This is an institution in Ketchum / Sun Valley. The Lemon Noodles, Idaho Trout and Fettuccine with Pesto are my favorite dishes. The outdoor patio is covered and it's a perfect little nook for you and your guests. Summertime is so relaxing."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "You can't go wrong with lunch here. The people are friendly, the food fantastic, and they have a great wine list. The fish we had was cooked perfectly. Wonderful home made bread. By far the best place we ate at in Ketchum and the Sun Valley area."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "We returned to the Ketchum Grill again, and our experience mirrored our multiple prior visits; excellent service, setting, preparation and at a reasonable price."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "We love this place and usually come at least once every time we visit the Sun Valley area. Excellent service, food and charming atmosphere. A must!"

  • "Great ambience, good service, but neither can make up for the food."
    Dined on 6/29/2014
  • "We had five for dinner. Four of us thought their dinner very good. One, who had duck, didn't think as good as other meals from the past. Great wines, though."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "The noise level is negligible waitstaff efficient and the food superb"
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "We had not visited the Grill in a couple of years and as we always found before, the food was awesome and it was a wonderful place to spend our 19th anniversary. Thank you and see you again soon."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Local restaurant that has been a favorite for years. Charming old structure with wonderful ambience. Food is always delicious, thoughtfully prepared and hot (or cold, if necessary.) Great menu selections. Staff has always been friendly, thoughtful and intent on pleasing without being overbearing. Going to the Ketchum Grill is always familiar and like "going home"."

  • "Every visit is wonderful. Food and service are exceptional. A must visit spot when in Ketchum."
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "Food was very good as it always has been in the past. Service was adequate, but not as responsive as I would have liked. Biggest downer was the noise level inside; had to shout across the table in order to talk. Sit on the patio if want to have a conversation."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "A favorite. Always great food. Dependable. We go there all the time"

  • "The Ketchum Grill continues to be outstanding in all respects. The food, service and ambiance are exceptional. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who finds themselves in Ketchum. Northwest/Intermountain dining at its best. "

  • "After placing Open Table reservation, The Ketchum Grill wasn't expecting us....a 3 top, seated at a table for 2? The menu less than exciting, but the specials were pretty good...the desserts excellent. Tables inside the Grill on top of each other...cozy, for some, cramped for me. Noise level very high. Don't book a reservation later in the evening.....specials substitute lessor cuts of beef, but retain original price. Staff also makes no bones about the fact they want to cut and run. "

  • "I brought my wife here Saturday night to celebrate Mother's Day - we like to avoid the "rush" on Sunday. It was a great meal - my wife says it's the best Halibut she's ever had ! We are part time residents of Ketchum, and the Ketchum Grill is one of our favorites. There are several outstanding restaurants here, and this is one of them. "

  • "Love this locals favorite. All around great experience."

  • "the grill has landmark status in ketchum. It's in a historical house with a cozy setting. There's a very small bar if you're eating alone, and if you have to wait for your table there is a waiting area with a fireplace. The menu stays the same with slight variations. They have a slow-cooked meal each day, and during shoulder seasons they offer wonderful specials. The salmon is delicious. It's a reliable place to go for good food, good service and pleasant ambience. "

  • "Ketchum Grill has been one of my favorites in the valley for seventeen years. It has managed to keep an astounding consistency. The prices are moderate for the valley and the portions are a perfect size."

  • "It was fun, friendly and the food was good. Shrimp cakes were excellent!"
    Dined on 3/30/2014
  • "The food was good but the service was unfriendly. We have 2 kids and it appeared that might have been the problem for the server....no kids menu was offered and she was rarely checking on us. Found out about the kids menu after we ordered. No big deal, but in the end, some simple Idaho friendliness would have been nice and would have made for a more pleasant dinning experience."
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "Quality is always excellent. great dinner salads and the lamb meatballs are the best!"
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "A bit disappointed this time. The hamburgers was way over cooked and the waitress agreed and then said the cooks argued over the way it was done. I did not need to hear that. Service was okay. Until the waitress realized we were locals, she was a bit indifferent. Generally speaking, Ketchum Grill is one of our favorite place to go out for 'date night'. I might consider other dining establishments in the future."
