"Since the remodel Kelly's is a better place. It's much cleaner, the ambience is lively and fun, the entertainment is a plus and enjoyable. They did a great job by keeping "some" of the old crew especially Michael and Denny behind the bar. The hostess staff are friendly and helpful. The bar scene is great. The problem is the food. I understand that the food's going to be expensive, and in Kelly's case it really is high priced by Long Beach standards. But I'm really getting tired of paying high prices for food that does not measure up. If your going to charge Morton's prices the steaks should be close to as good. My steak was way under cooked, very tough and came out cold. My buddies prime rib also came out cold. The chef did come by and ask"

"What has happened to Kelly's? The bar was busy. . .but there were only 2 parties in the restaurant on a Thursday night. The food was fair and they ran out of the special. How could that be with no one eating? The food simply didn't have a lot of flavor. . .could it be the quality of the ingredients? Kelly's is no longer worth the superior prices they charge. It's sad to see what's happened to a Long Beach institution."

"I've been to Kelly's several times but based on my most recent experience, I won't be going back. The Wedge salad was small, short of dressing and missing bacon, all for $10.00. The prime rib was like eating a piece of old leather. Service was lacking and overall, the meal was not worth the calories or the $50.00."

"Arrived at 6:40 PM for a 7PM reservationm seated at 7:30. Actually, not bad for Valentine Day dinner. We shared Oysters Rockafeller which were quite good, considering Oysters are not on the menu. We split the 20oz Irish Cut Prime Rib with Creamed Spinach and Mushrooms. Excellent. And drank this with a bottle Ferrair-Carano Siena. One of our favorites. Unable to eat any deserts. Next time were going to try the Steak Diane which is prepared tableside. Try to get a table away from the bar."
