It was an easy stroll down the street, allowing us the opportunity to take a walk after dinner.
Enjoyed everything the restuarant had to offer, ambiance, great food, attentive but not obtrusive waitstaff. We highly reccommend the Arctic Char.

We were offered a table that was a little cramped, and the hostess asked if we minded, I said yes, she said one minute and found us another table. So far so good. I had the price-fix menu, for 2 courses it was $31.95 and for 3 courses maybe $36.95? Don't hold me to the prices. I had a greek salad which was very good and a fairly large . I also had the mediterrean fish that came with a veg. It was very good. My husband wanted a shrimp cocktail and the same fish. He paid more for his dinner and would get the price fix next time. We both had dessert, he had sorbet, which was a nice amount and very refreshing. I had a custard something that was great. The Greek dishes are outstanding, and the service is attentive. This probably was my 15th time there, and I've always had a great meal, whether for lunch or dinner. Such a broad choice of fresh fish and other things! I suppose I should just stop counting, as I intend to continue to dine at Kellari on a regular basis when in NYC.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMBravo Kellari TavernaHaving eaten in many Greek restaurants here & in Greece, I highly recommend Kellari Taverna. My lamb chops were amazing & the galactobuereko was sublime. The ambiance was wonderful. While the restaurant was filled on a Sat. night, the noise level was such that we could hear ourselves talk normally.
There was a shift change during our meal & that did disrupt the dessert service, but nothing terrible.

Located close to 5th Avenue on West 46th Street , it is a little outside the theater core of restaurants but it is well worth the inexpensive cab ride or five minute walk . Make sure you go when they offer the Price Fix lunch on Sundays [ $ 24.95 ] and it includes drink , 2 courses and dessert . I had the Salmon and it was great . Wait staff and floor managers do communicate. Service was impecable. We had Fernando and he was attentive, not overbearing and accommodated our requests, such as wait to put in order until after cocktails. We had the 2 course pre-fix with wine pairing; well worth it. I had the salmon tartare, a meal in itself and delicious. My husband had the watercress salad. Best looking watercress I ever saw. I had the whole striped bass, deboned - perfect. The service was superb. I got there at 6:57 for a 6:45 reservation, and they seated us right away, and I was rushed for a broadway show at 8, so they rushed our food, recommended an excellent wine choice, were pleasant, friendly, and had us out of there on time. It was my mother's birthday, so they also comped my mom's dessert and gave us complementary dessert wine. The manager walked around asking diners if everything was okay.
