You can tell that there is a lot of history in the place. From that perspective, it's worth a trip just for that.
As far as the food goes, the steaks were wonderful. The sides were only ok. I have had better sides at other steakhouses. We were never rushed. Waitstaff was professional and caring. Even the vegetarian joining us at the steakhouse found something to eat. In the party of ten, we tried the oysters, bacon, mutton, rib eye, filet mignon, porterhouse and sea bass. All cooked to order....I really like the mushroom side. Only complaint was the serving sizes were so large.
This is a do again....good food, great service, and able to accommodate a large party. We were seated upstairs in the pipe room. We were all comfortable. The service was very good. The steaks were cooked accordingly and delicious, but the side dishes were lack-luster. The lobster bisque had nice pieces of lobster, but the soup itself was substandard. The various vegetable side-dishes were also not wonderful. One in particular, soggy cauliflower and broccoli, seemed to have been in a steam tray for 12 hours prior to reaching our table.
