The OTR sushi roll, and pork sliders were some of the best we've ever had. We were celebrating my birthday, and the staff did a great job of making me feel special with birthday wishes and a complimentary dessert (the salted caramel ice cream- which was delicious!)
Our only complaint was our walk to and from the Washington Park garage- we were approached by people off the street asking for money on both our walk to and from the garage to KaZe. One man actually came into the parking garage, asking for a handout. I think a single security guard patrolling the garage could eliminate this issue.

Beautiful and delicious sushi prepared with a modern twist was served by extremely knowledgeable and attentive staff. Their Asian take on the key lime pie we had for desert was creative, refreshing and as lovely tasting as it was to behold. They recommend sharing small plates of different courses. The sushi and the skewers were our favorites. We had a great round booth and the ambiance is nice. To go to the women's room, you have to take an elevator downstairs. The elevator is the nicest elevator and it was super fast. We didn't know until our waitress told us, but they ave a bar in the back and a beer garden. It is a pretty cool place! We were there only until 9, although a dj was starting at 10. I went with a group of 4 and we shared the skewers which were very good. The wagyu was some of the best meat I've had in a long time. Then each of us thoroughly enjoyed our sushi. Even though we had reservations and arrived 5 mins. early, we found ourselves waiting in the bar until 25 minutes past the reservation time. As we had no plans beyond dinner, it was not so much issue. Just be aware of that should you have post dinner plans such as a show at the Know Theatre (around the corner), they can get busy and behind. Out wait wasn't so bad as the bar area had a great ambiance; decor was spot on.
The real star was the food, ordering 3 full rolls to share. Expertly prepared, quality was GREAT! Only complaint was that there were smaller portions, even at the higher prices, comparatively speaking. Still the value was there.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNice addition to OTRGreat Service! Our server was helpful and friendly. He did a great job describing the menu and he was very attentive. The interior design has a very upscale and trendy feel. They seem to have achieved a good balance between a "vibrant restaurant scene" and" too loud to hear the person sitting in front of you.” We discovered upon leaving that there’s an outdoor bar and patio that looked very inviting. The food portions are very small. The skewers were especially disappointing. Hardly one bite of food for $4-$7.
