Kaz Sushi really has very, very good (excellent quality) sushi/sashimi, there is an excellent choice in high quality basic sushi/sashimi, and they have a very great selection of "specials". The ones we tried were very, very good. They also have a very great selection of drinks, especially a great choice in sake. Highly recommended!

Service was very good - attentive and conversational enough, but gave the right amount of space for us to enjoy our food. The very first thing you get when you sit down are these white tube things that swell up when they pour water over them. No direction was given so we didn't touch them, but noticed another table was using it to wipe off their hands before eating. We ordered 4 rolls. The fish was fresh, but the rolls were all very basic nori-rice-fish. And the rolls are tiny, one small bite per piece and only 6 pieces per roll. Considering what we got the price was fair. If you're looking for super basic sushi then this is a good spot. If you want bigger interesting rolls, look elsewhere.

The sushi fish, salads and small hot plates were fresh, succulent, and perfectly seasoned and went beautifully together. A thoroughly pleasant experience, especially for the traveler who is feeling the weight of too many restaurant meals. It was heartening to see so many Japanese diners enjoying the food as much as we did!

I really enjoyed my experience at Kaz. The atmosphere is really good. That being said, it's on the pricey side of things and the rolls are really small. If you are looking for good quality sushi, they definitely have it. That being said, expect to get more quantity than your regular sushi place. I would recommend the Tuna truffle Nigri. I also tried the mango puree salmon. It was good, but this is more of a sweet one, so I'd eat it last.

I tried several sushi restaurants while in Washington DC - Kaz Sushi Bistro was by far the best. The ambiance reminds me of the more upscale sushi restaurants I visited while in Tokyo. In comparison to the others in Washington DC, Kaz Sushi Bistro had a greater variety of fish on the menu and a greater variety of preparations. I can highly recommend the arctic char/pickled onion appetizer. I also chose the Sashimi Omekase (Chef's Choice). Again, a much greater variety of fish, including scallop (one of my favorites). Kaz Sushi Bistro also offered a nice sake list, including several unfiltered which I enjoy.

Although we stumbled upon Kaz, we had an incredible experience from start to finish. Our server offered us excellent insight into the sushi choices with well-thought out recommendations and patience with our indecision. The sushi itself is absolutely phenomenal, some of the smoothest and most delicious we've had in the city, even giving Sushi Taro a run for their money! The traditional/basic sushi don't taste as good as the chef's specials, which I highly recommend. I personally loved the char, fatty yellowtail, sweet scallop, and Hawaiian walu of all the ones I tried. The spicy edamame is a great choice and will help fill you up. We ended up spending $125 with alcohol after tax and tip, feeling delighted and very satisfied.

We had high hopes for this place after some rave reviews from friends but man were we let down. Awful just Awful. Let me start by saying the Brussels Spouts were actually VERY good, but that is probably the same with anything else on the menu that is "fried." Unfortunately thats not why I go out for sushi. We are here for the fish. The sushi is WAY OVERPRICED. We're talking $9 for 2 pieces of "special nigiri". We tried the white tuna and shima aji off the special menu. $18 for 4 pieces of small, dried, and what looked like could be days old sushi. Not fresh, not tasty at all. Did i mention NOT FRESH?? The rolls were also pathetically small. Don't waste your time here. They swindled my girlfriend and I out of our money. I feel robbed.

My husband and I hadn't been to Kaz in about 5 years. Our last meals there were disappointing and then I lost my immune system because of an illness and could no longer eat uncooked fish. Last week we were in the neighborhood, and because they offer some cooked fish and veggie dishes, we decided to give it a try. I loved the cauliflower and kale salad and my husband loved all the sushi he ate. We'll definitely return.

The food was suburb. There really is no other way to describe it. Two days later and I still remember how delicious our meal was. We ordered a number of different plates & there wasn't one that we didn't like. We also did the Saki tasting #1 & #3 and those were also very enjoyable. The service was fantastic. If I wasn't moving to Japan in October, this would've became my new go-to restaurant.

I went there with a friend for a dinner. The sashimi was good. We ordered the sashimi plate that was chosen by the chef. We also ordered some sushi's on the side. One of them was salmon with avocados. I can't remember the other one. Overall, the food was good but very cramped. Parked was tough on Sunday evening. A lot of the parking structures were closed for the Sunday. Lastly, I don't know if I ordered the sashimi or something but the bill was over $100 for two people. I thought that was little bit pricey.
