  • "It has become tradition to visit Kaya a couple of times per year for a sister's night out. It never disappoints. I like that they keep some of my favorites but change some of the other menu items periodically. The grouper was excellent and the Tempura Avocado Bahn Mi Tacos & mussels were quite tasty. The graduate was a nice, refreshing summer cocktail and you can't beat the Aztec Chocolate Martini!! Best chocolate martini I have ever had hands down."

  • "What used to be a favorite Thursday tradition, a place to take family or guests for some of the tastiest fried chicken in the city is no longer om our list of go to places. The lukewarm, over-cooked chicken was almost inedible. Unlike the delicious, crispy, generous portion of juicy fried chicken we had enjoyed in past visits, the overly breaded, skimpy serving of chicken was cooked so long (and long ago) that it was tough, barely warm and tasteless. The disappointing food mirrored the tepid service. Outdoor seating apparently meant self service, when as host at a table of 6 I had to approach the hostess to ask if a waiter could be sent to the table where our guests had sat unattended for more than 25 minutes."

  • "We lucked out and arrived on the night of the vegetarian tasting menu. It was so delicious, especially the mushroom stir fry rice cake. But the tomato avocado salad, zucchini pizza and strawberry angel food dessert were all a close second. Kaya is officially my favorite of the big burrito restaurants. I used my birthday coupon and my family was so glad I picked Kaya. Also really love the Instant Crush cocktail!"

  • "Kaya is quickly climbing the ladder as it concerns my favorite places to eat in the city. Kaya doesn't overwhelm you in any category (except maybe for cocktails) but delivers solidly in all categories (although the service is a little uneven at times). The bottom line is if you're looking for a fun, casual meal where the food is executed on a high level and the cocktails are both tropical and sublime (go for 1/2 off happy hour, one of the best deals in town) then Kaya is the place. Afterwards you should be relaxed, well fed, pleasantly surprised by the overall experience (especially if the service issues get ironed out) and perhaps even a little tipsy (all for a reasonable price). I'm already looking forward to my next visit."

I had the plantains and my boyfriend had the chicken paella. Both dishes were oh so delicious and our server was great! I was pleasantly surprised that it was Caribbean themed food. As always, I love the decorations in all of the Big Burrito group restaurants. The giant octopus on the floor made my night!"

  • "The Jamaican green curry, though unlike Thai curries, is AMAZING! I'd take it over any Thai place any day. The spices are perfect, lots of different veggies, and the saffron rice works so well with the rest of the dish. Not to mention that the portion is huge! I'd love to try their other vegan-friendly options, but I just love the curry so much that it's hard to stray :) I'll have to start going with more vegetarian friends so we can share the dishes and I can taste them all!"

Our server was just ok, as the server was not very outgoing or willing to make any suggestions, and tended to disappear for long stretches. The flank steak was a little tough and there was barely any spatzle but overall it was a tasty dish. We found the calamari to be just okay but the pulled pork Quesadilla was outstanding as usual! We also really enjoyed the Cotes du Rhône and malbec. Our server Justine was very helpful, efficient and friendly."
