Katsuya at SLS Hotel South BeachIncredible Sushi! We celebrated my daughter' s and my birthdays while on vacation in South Beach and it was a wonderful experience. The food was amazing; EVERYTHING was really exceptionally good especially the rock shrimp sushi, the crispy rice appetizer, and the rainbow roll. The restaurant is very nice and is inside the SLS hotel which ia really beautiful. All in all, it was a wonderful meal and wwe' ll definitely go back next time we' re in town. Just note, it is expensive.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeThe best sushi I have ever had--delicious flavor and creative dishes. Great service, hopping scene. Overall excellent experience. Also, don't come if you don't like a lively atmosphere.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMamazingAndre the restaurant manager was exceptional - from the knowledge of the staff and the attention to detail from everyone there - Andre runs a great restaurant and it shows. We go there all the time...5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMvery good japanese restaurantMy family and I went to Katsuya for a special occasion. We had the omakase (chef selection). The first dish was amazing (don't miss the crispy/creamy shrimps), but I was not not too crazy about the robata grill skewers. The service was very friendly.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite hot spot in SobeAfter many years of Nobu being one of our only choices in South Beach for food.... Finally we have Katsuya. Not only the place is pumping but the food is insanely good. Service is great and the hotel is hot! We love it!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMJust as good as LAHad the Omakase. Well worth the price. Eat every last bite. (minus what I was forced to share with the wife). The sticky rice is outrageous as is the ceviche. Rolls were delicious as well.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMVery fun sushi place on ourVery fun sushi place on our trip to SoBe. We enjoyed everything in our meal and definitely didn't spend as much as I thought we would.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNice room. Here's what weNice room. Here's what we tried- To start Crispy rice with Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail and Tuna Sushi, Rock Shrimp Roll, Spicy Yellowtail Roll. Mains- Miso Marinated Black Cod and The Stripped Baze. We shared all, everything was very good, however the two mains stood above the others. Service was very friendly and spot on this night. Will return..4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and Delicious! We had early reservations. it was calm and quiet, but by the time we left, the place was filling up and becoming energized!
We ordered many small plates, and enjoyed each of them. They brought the food out as it was ready. It was fun trying so many different plates! The meal was expensive, bur worth it. It was our best meal of the week. The Deconstructed apple pie for dessert was to die for.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at Katsuya is delicious. The food at Katsuya is delicious. The sushi is high quality!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMhard to get a reservation, hard to get a reservation, but worth it. ceviche was incredible. place was gorgeous. sake menu was huge!!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was very quick dinning,It was very quick dinning, the kitchen was closed by midnight! they put us for dinning 11:40 pm, the hostess was not friendly , we had been served quickly and by 12:15 they gave us the check , for $230.00 dinner was not pleasant experience. they should not sit people at 11:30 and kick them out after 20 min! very unpleasant experience!the waiter and the server were very nice ! butwe were not enjoy the late booking and quick dinning!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI had my entire family withI had my entire family with me (a party of 7) ranging in ages 55-15 and we all agreed that this one of the best dining experiences we can remember. Everything we tasted was fantastic (we had over 12 different dishes and ALL of the desserts). The service was superb -- attentive but not fawning or arrogant.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect in Every WayPerfect in every way! Amazing sushi. Philippe Starck decor is incredible. Great-looking people. The restaurant plays ambient house music at a level where you hear it well but the music does not disrupt conversation. Can't wait to go back!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMExecllent, Loved the MisoExecllent, Loved the Miso fish! Only issue is that they they removed plates sooner that we would have liked.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSolidGreat sushi spot... Similar energy to Katsuya in Hollywood. Loud. Crispy rice still a favorite- but SSC Roll is a must order....ask for a nice slow pace or they will try and move you through to turn tables. Great space... Ask about history of the ballroom.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!This was my first time eating here and I loved it! We were seated quickly the waitress was very helpful with recommendations. Normally I don't eat too much sushi so we tried a lot of new things. The Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna was great! Spicy Tuna Roll and California roll were great you could tell it was fresh and not your standard local Japanese food. Upstairs was very dark but more space downstairs was very bright will close tables. Overall really good. Good drink menu also.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat selection of raw dishesGreat selection of raw dishes and sushi in a very hip and trendy ambience.2/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing. We loved everything;Amazing. We loved everything; food, ambiance and service1/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSkeptic Proven WrongAlmost didn't go here based on spotty reviews. Very glad we went. It is loud and somewhat cramped, but this describes nearly every trendy/hot restaurant. Don't hold that against Katsuya. Five of us ate multiple appetizers and entrees served family style. The food far exceeded my expectations. The server was friendly and attentive. Cost didn't seem higher or lower than other similar places I've been. If comparing cost to a sushi bar in a strip mall...yeah it's expensive. If you compare to Nobu...right in line. I would certainly go back. Dine here with confidence.1/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent in everyway. OnlyExcellent in everyway. Only issue is be prepared to pay $25 to valet park your car even
When you dine there, which is the reduced rate .1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
