Could use a bit of noise reduction in the decor. I've been to Cyprus and I get the taverna chair ambiance, but Kanella has incredibly uncomfortable chairs. Great waitstaff; one of the only places I've eaten where they seem excited about the food. Good specials--and they tell you the price when they describe them. The lamb dish was outstanding; the vegetaerian mousakka was delicious and the pork chop and tortellini were also very good. The hostess was lovely and our server engaging and helpful. The tortelloni was satisfying and easily blended mint, lemon, and yogurt. The chicken was moist, flavorful, and pulled off the bone with ease. Do take advantage of the little bowl of water they give you- you'll need to use your fingers. We look forward to coming back!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional Greek Cuisine!We had brunch at Kanella and the entire dinning experience was excellent. My daughter is researching Greece for school. We tried this restaurant so she could try a lot of different food from Greece. Our waiter was outstanding and very attentive. He took the time to teach us about Cyprus and the how the food differs from the mainland Greece. He gave us a tour of the restaurant and complimentary caper berries to my daughter who loves them. The food was was delicious and we enjoyed ever bit of it. The chef also came out and chatted with us and other customers. What a gem of a place that we won't forget. Our meals were excellent and elevated above typical brunch fare. I just wish the website and OpenTable were more clear that it is a BYOB. The website says BYO liquor. I took this to mean they provided mixers for liquor ( like some Mexican restaurants will make margheritas with tequila you bring) and that they would have wine and beer.
