Kama has excellent food but the speed of service and the inexcusable late and tiny naan and roti ruined it. We ordered naan and roti and we were encouraged to order appetizers to go with the naan. The appetizers came out but no naan or roti. Eventually we ate the appetizers and the naan came out. Tiny. For four of us we each had a tiny dainty slice. The main courses were excellent but for these prices I expect good service and not stinginess. I can drive into Chicago also. I sound harsh-but the place is not cheap. That being said, the service and presentation of main courses - vindaloo and lamb chops was great

Delicious, flavorful food in a comfortable, attractive setting with friendly, attentive service - this restaurant is worthy of a special occasion, date night or any time you crave delicious Indian food. We always get the lamb tacos. On the spicy side, they wake up your taste buds! On this trip we also tried the lamb shank - slow cooked to fall off the bone perfection in a velvety, meaty sauce with more subtle flavors. We ordered eggplant bharta, spinach, raita and garlic naan and feasted like royalty with leftovers for lunch. Pistachio kulfi for dessert was rich and a delightful finish..... And served with a candle to celebrate my date's birthday We didn't drink on our last visit but had sampled their specialty cocktails in the past. I remember loving a gin based drink spiked with the heat of a green chili and remember loving it! They have an inventive cocktail menu worth trying.

While I had eaten at Kama, my three friends had not. One of whom is not an adventurous eater. She ordered the chicken curry and loved it. I was surprised and pleased. Another friend had the lamb curry and, she, too, left a clean plate. Lastly, one had chicken tikka masala, and I had the saag paneer. We started with samosas which were delicate and delicious. The pastry melts in your mouth and the cubed potatoes is such a welcome change from other Indian places who mash them. The naan is fluffy, warm, and tender. Unfortunately, no one had room for dessert. I am delighted to have introduced others to this very good Indian restaurant in the Western Suburbs.

This restaurant was a wonderful experience. We took guests and we all had a wonderful evening of dining far beyond our expectations. The wine recommendation was outstanding and perfect for our meal. We sampled appetizers, all had different meals and enjoyed deserts. We didn't want it to end. Truly a fabulous dining experience. Our guests said they thought their favorite Indian food restaurant was in Florida but that Kama had replaced it!!. Outstanding service along with the fabulous food made for a memorable and very enjoyable evening. Thank you Kama for being there!!!!!

This was our first visit to the newly expanded Kama Bistro. After a little confusion with the hostess(es), we sat at the bar for a cocktail and were mostly ignored by the barmaid who seemed to be engrossed in rearranging glasses or something behind the bar. Once seated, our waitress was very nice and helpful with recommendations. We really enjoyed our meal.

I am a person of Indian origin. Most Indian restaurants in the US serve very average food. They have a similar style of making the gravy or the base for the curries. They really do not do justice to Indian food. However, our experience at Kama was amazing. We ordered some food to be served there and some to go (such as Achari chicken, lamb and chicken Biryani, Rogan Josh, Pudina paratha, etc.). All of the items have a distinct flavor and were delicious. We would highly recommend the beer or wine list, Tandoori platter, and the Kulfi (which is a frozen dessert).

We love Indian food and Kama does not disappoint, especially if you would like your food served in a lovely, romantic setting. Many ethnic restaurants are good but lack atmosphere. Kama is lovely--you may pay a bit more here, but it's a definite yes for a nice date night. Mussels and samosas as starters were yummy. Entrees--Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Spinach Masala were lovely. Servings were generous enough to be able to take leftovers home. Yum again. Only wish they would replace silverware after appetizer service.

We went for the Independence Day celebration on August 17th. They had a wonderful buffet to celebrate. It was so delicious. They brought appetizers to the table and you could help your self to the buffet. There were just the right number of dishes, and they were so flavorful. Our taste buds were awaken. It also came with a choice of dessert: rice pudding or ice cream. We chose the ice cream. It was out of this world. The flavor was mango passion with dark chocolate chips. It was delicious!!! Turns out they provide the ingredients for the ice cream to Tates (the awesome ice cream shop right in town), and they produce it. Yum. Also the service was very kind and thoughtful. We would highly recommend this restaurant!

Kama Bistro is always an experience for the senses! Delicious and so much variety. There were four of us. One of us didn't thoroughly enjoy his lamb shank entree, while the rest of us were very pleased - thus, the "Very Good" rating for Food. He noted that it wasn't as good as other times. Service was attentive -- perhaps just a bit over-attentive; but how can one complain about that?

My wife and I love going to restaurants that are vibrant, humming, where the tables are full and the place just seems to "alive." It's a little depressing to go to a place where just a few tables are occupied. This is not a depressing place. It has a special energy and it is one of our favorites. Especially in its new location, Kama Bistro has the vibe and hum of a chic downtown eatery. And yes, we want there to be fabulous food. Kama Bistro's food never disappoints. The appetizers = delicious--especially the chili potatoes. We cannot forget about the drinks and the bar. Great beer and wine list, all the usual cocktails, but their SPECIAL cocktails are worth high praise. Try one of their signature drinks.

We have dined at Kama Indian Bistro a number of times and have been delighted with the food, service and ambiance on every occasion. On our most recent visit in late July 2014 my wife ordered the Copper River salmon special and I had Tandoori mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops and Mahi Mahi). Both dishes were deliciously seasoned to our taste and nicely presented. The craft beer menu provides some great choices to quench the thirst and cool the palate! Our friends were first time Kama diners and enjoyed dinner so much that we are already looking forward to dining together at Kama in the near future.

Our waiter was wonderful! I am sorry that his name escapes me right now (mid twenties, blond hair, 5"9"). It was our first time eating Indian food and he was very helpful in guiding us to the right dishes based on several questions he asked us. He was attentive but not too intrusive. He was very patient and not pushy. We appreciated him being our server!

Dined here with a friend who loves Indian food but not spicy dishes. I am less familiar with this cuisine, but the spicier the better in my book. All food is served family style, meaning it comes in bowls that you self-serve onto your plate. We shared the spicy mussels and the chicken in a lemon cream sauce as appetizers. It was a great combination that satisfied both of our preferences - I highly recommend them either together or as stand alone appetizers. It's a big menu with many choices. The flavors were good no matter what we ordered. I'll come back here and will now be more open to other Indian restaurants as well.
