Diner Reviews
  • "We went to celebrate our engagement, and were treated like royalty. The food was excellent, and the service was superb. They went out of their way to make is feel special."

  • "Food was good but the whole fish isn't as large or nicely prepared compared to Ouzo Bay. The grilled calamari is a must try."

  • "In BAL for a conference, needed restaurants to entertain potential customers. I dined here on Sunday, with 3 customers-I would've given them 5 stars in all categories! Andrew our server was outstanding! Food on time, cooked perfectly, wine glass never empty. I recommended to my colleagues for final dinner on Thur, dinner for 6. OMG, the server was LAME!! I think he was Greek? Cocktails came out great, all down hill from there. We had 3 orders of oysters and one hot appy(grilled trio). After 45 minutes I inquired about our appys, the waiter mumbled he was waiting for something. Our oysters came out on H2O! The ice had long since melted-indicating to me it wasn't the kitchen's fault. We arrived at 8:40 and left around 11PM. DISMAL SERVICE!"

  • "Nothing was bad. Nothing was great. We were disappointed. We expected more from $35+ entrees."

  • "We went with high expectations, and we're not disappointed . I took my wife and daughter, both are very discerning diners, and they raved about the place. Everything from the service to the meal were perfect, Thank you for a wonderful evening."

  • "We had a wonderful Father's Day dinner at Kali's Court. The ambiance was perfect with beautiful flowers surrounding us in a garden setting. Fresh seafood - crabcakes were delicious!"

  • "For 8 years, we've chosen to go to Kali's Court to celebrate special occasions during the summer months. Outside tables in the courtyard are reminiscent of Europe. Service is always outstanding. We don't eat meat or shellfish, but always have menu options from which to choose, including unique side dishes and grilled fish. The Bronzini is our favorite -- fresh and seasoned/grilled to perfection. The wine list offers a fine variety at all price points. Save room for the special pistachio custard dessert!"

  • "At first we thought we had found a little jewel. The place is adorable! Unfortunately the food was below average. We ordered the whole red snapper for two topped with crab meat. The waiter assured us it was the chefs speciality. It was awful... Full of bones and topped with what looked and tasted to be canned crab. Don't waste your money!"

  • "This restaurant is one to visit when coming to Baltimore. Although pricey, it is well worth it as the food is absolutely delicious and fresh. I had the mussels for an appetizer and they were large and succulent. The crab cakes entrée was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The best part of the restaurant is the ambiance. Dimly lit, dark oak, and white tablecloths adorn the inside, while the outdoor area is beautiful with twinkling lights, greenery, and flowers. Truly a magical experience."

  • "Despite a new chef, and a beautiful setting, this restaurant continues to fall below expectations, especially since Baltimore's restaurant scene has radically improved."

  • "our family went there for a graduation dinner. made a reservation for 7:30 and when we arrived, the host claimed we had no reservation (had to show them the open table email). they then made us wait at the bar about 45 minutes before we were seated. after we were seated, the EXTREMELY rude waiter told us that the kitchen was 'backed up' and then forced us to order salads and extra appetizers even though we did not want any of these dishes. after our salads arrived, he did not check on us ONCE in 2 1/2 hours. at this point we called for the manager, who was equally lazy and unapologetic. we ended up walking out, because even though they told us our food was 5 minutes away, after waiting for another 40 minutes, it was nowhere in sight. "

  • "We were so impressed that along with the fabulous food and atmosphere we were offered complimentary limo service to and from our hotel! It truly made our special occasion celebration unforgettable."

  • "Initially we were placed in booth with another group which was too small. After complaining we were moved. My crab cakes were burned, black on the bottom. My husband said his steak was the worst he had ever tasted. The restaurant was empty and I can see why. Overpriced for poor quality food. "

  • "We were passing through Baltimore on our way up north. A friend who had lived in Baltimore recommended Kali's and we made a reservation. Our meals were excellent. Should our travels bring us in this direction again, we will definitely return for another dinner."

  • "Had dinner here with my sisters for our annual reunion and were very happy with the choice. We were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was much more elegant that shown on the website. Were seated immediately and our waiter was extremely helpful. The oysters were outstanding as were the crab cakes. Would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "They're known for fish. They charge $33-$35 for a piece of fish, which we knew going in, and were fine paying, because we wanted a quiet, refined place for Mother's Day. If you're known for fish and are charging those kinds of prices, that fish better be great!!! All fish at table was dry and bland (even beurre blanc didn't help). We told waiter about mom's dry fish (we all just remained silent, as we didn't want to all complain and ruin her day). They did not cook another piece of fish for her, instead a beurre blanc sauce was just put on it. Crab cakes had too much Old Bay. From Bmore, so we know good crab cakes from okay crab cakes. It was an all around disappointing meal, made even harder to "swallow", given the prices we were paying."

  • "Compliments! I had occasion to host two good friends for dinner this past Sunday evening and made reservations at Kali's Court due to a recommendation I had read in Baltimore Magazine's 50 Best Restaurants, its valet service and proximity to the Four Seasons where my friends were staying. We all enjoyed truly great service from the time we arrived until the time we departed. Compliments to Kali's Court for the quality of its service, its menu, the quality and style of its offering, and its portion size (not Texas). And compliments to its maître d for his attention to my guests and his gift of chocolate to the lady in our party. "

  • "Everything was great until my Medium Rare filet came out medium well. It then took 15 minutes to get the new filet and by that time my wife was finished with her meal. The waiter was nice but the screw up and delay really ruined our experience. You spend a lot of money at a place like this and expect your meal to be perfect. There really isn't an excuse for over cooking a filet by that much. We probably will not return to this restaurant as there are several better and much more reliable ones in the city. "

  • "While the food was fair at Kali's Court, the service was terrible -- slow and inattentive. No one should have to wait for a table for a half an hour in a half-full restaurant if he/she made a reservation! No one should have to ask for his/her water glass to be refilled. I'm happy to pay $35 for a nice piece of fish, but not when it's full of bones, and not if I have to wait an hour between my appetizer and my entree. Kali's Court used to be the best fish place in town, but I could think of four or five (including some chains) that have more attentive, pleasant service and better food."

  • "The service was outstanding and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food this time around was not as great as in times past. The grilled calamari that was part of the Seafood appetizer was not as good as it should have been, as well as our dinners. Overall a nice experience but we might not be so quick to go pick Kai's Court if we are looking for an outstanding food experience."

  • "Enjoyable. The dinner Entree took a little too long to arrive. The Tuna appetizer was awesome the Red Snapper entree was okay. The experience was good but there was nothing that set it apart. I always look for that special something that makes me say, That is why we are coming back. This didn't have it. Everything was good, just good. If you are unsure, don't be. You will have a good experience just don't expect amazing. It is worth the price, worth the visit and deserving of a evening."

  • "The space itself is gorgeous. Valet and hostess were very professional, as was the bartender who offered us a drink even before we were seated (and her drinks were perfectly made). There was a young knowledgeable enthusiastic waiter serving the table next to us who was spot on - explained the menu, offered suggestions, and got to know his customers' needs. Sadly our waiter was an older Italian guy with zero enthusiasm who did not explain the menu, could not answer questions, did not check on us... total wet noodle. We almost left after our first drink. I'd eat average food for excellent service; too bad the shrimp was over cooked into rubber. For the high prices, food should at least be decent. Major flaws to fix in a competitive market."

  • "We haven't been to Kali's in about a year and we remember it to be a nice well rounded restaurant, meaning good food and service. But things have definitely changed.... The service was terrible had to ask several times to get black pepper for our appetizers and unfortunately never got it. The waiter returned very I frequently and his memory was just as bad as the service. The food was not that great either and overpriced for what it was. Will not go back....."

  • "This is my third time dining here over the past few years. Service has declined......portions have decreased, and prices have risen. I felt like this restaurant has turned into a tourist trap that is trying to extract as much money as possible from their diners. Great ambience, but I don't appreciate being directed to the bar when the table that I was seated at was open when I walked in. There is no need to clip me for an extra $60 for drinks...prices are already over the top on the food."

  • "Kali's Court was an amazing experience with delicious food. From the seafood dishes to the Steaks, Kali's Court has an amazing Chef! The Chef hand writes her menus each day with some great selections! The servers were very knowledgeable and very attentive. Great pick!"

  • "I expected a lot more from this restaurant and was let down. We took friends and hoped for a wonderful evening. Rolls were blah and room temp. Hot appetizer was lukewarm. Waited a very long time in between our salads and entrees ( 1 hour). Valet lost our car and we stood outside for 30 minutes while they attempted to find it. Crab cakes and salad were good but there are so many other places that offer the same and better for a lot less money. We will not be returning."

  • "We were sent to Kali's Court by a concierge. Based on the recommendation we were enthusiastic. The restaurant is lovely and the service superb. The server and sommelier were quite tolerant of the demands of our guest. The food, however, was disappointing. Steak tartar was tasteless though pretty on the plate. While the bronzini was nicely prepared it was only good; the other entrees were overcooked. We will try again."

  • "Overpriced !!! We had a $100 gift cert. Our group had 8 drinks and 7 $35.00 meals Somehow our bill came in over $450.00 There are many other better places to go to in Baltimore for less than $65.00 per person"

  • "We had a great experience and lived the atmosphere. We asked the hostess for a 'fun' table and she gave us a lovely and fun table in the windows overlooking the courtyard. My crab cakes were perfect and the grilled platter of shrimp, calamari and oysters were amazing I look forward to my next trip to Baltimore"

  • "I have a conference annually in Baltimore and we always go to this pace at least once. Great preparations of the fresh catch of the day and an awesome wine list."

  • "Given the recommendations, we were anticipating very high quality, but the service was slow and the food not what we'd hoped for. I had to fend for myself getting seated, since the host didn't pull the table out and I squeezed to get in. I had the monkfish, which was bland and over cooked, and served over a room temperature polenta. My husband fared better with the crab cakes, which were very good, and the beet salad. But for these prices, the food should be excellent and the service impeccable. And it was very noisy even though the restaurant wasn't nearly full. Not a repeater."

  • "I was very upset with our service. First we received the wrong appetizer. Then our main course arrived. Instead of taking it all back and bringing out the appetizers in order we received an "I'm sorry" and the appetizers come out a few minutes later. I was very disappointed. I wanted a nice anniversary dinner in a fine restaurant. The steak I ordered was overcooked and I didn't even want the appetizers at that point. More apologies and the appetizers were taken off the bill but the special occasion I came to celebrate was ruined."
