A word from Kalea Miami
Kale'a, meaning "joy or bliss" in Hawaiian Pidgin, pairs traditions of the Pacific Rim in a celebration of beach foods from many tropical cultures. Our food, reflective of the different influences of Asian cultures upon Hawaii itself brings Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, French, Indonesian and American cuisines to name a few. We have designed our family style menu with emphasis on the freshest locally sourced ingredients, quality meats, and a contemporary spin on traditional dishes. Our crafted cocktail list is a reinvented homage to traditional beach libations. It has been artfully created with house-made cordials, syrups and organic fruit juices. Think of our menu as a Hawaiian tapas brasserie – quality, local and organic ingredients whenever possible, prepared simply either and served family style.
Kale'a aspires to bring together the taste of the Hawaiian beauty with the flavor of South Beach

  • Delicious food with creativity

This restaurant combines European and American food with molecular astronomy. Open kitchen, guests can see how the chefs prepare their food. Clean and nice dinning area with nice bar and collection of wine.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

A group of 10 of us were having a mini-reunion with little local knowledge. So, we relied on OpenTable reviews to find seating for our large party at 9 pm on Saturday night. What a lucky find! Unlike other restaurants on Ocean Drive, MBC&R provided very comfortable, uncramped seating outside with lively but not loud trendy-trancey, Euro music. Said another way, the setting was somewhat chic and perfect for speaking comfortably. Everyone loved our meals. One of us observed that there was literally nothing left on anyone's plate. Several of us had the Sea Bass, and one person commented that it was "perfect" and another that it was the best they ever had. Service was excellent!

The chef can cook. Te food amd decor are outstanding. Very friendly atmosphere. The only change I would recommend is to the name of the restaurant, it does not describe this place, perhaps They need to add Europe to their name since the owner, staff, and chef all hail from Central Europe.
