really nice evening. who knew serbian food is exactly what we needed in the neighborhood! portions are large and some things are def bit different, but there is a lot of choices that are crowd pleasers. my lamb shank was the best I've ever had.

There is no tasty food in the neighborhood like at Kafana. The food is great and the personnel welcoming. Highly recommended when you are food depressed! It's all about tasty food.

Excellent authentic Serbian food with that hard to find home-made taste created by skillful use of simple ingredients. We had cevapcic and flat bread with kajmak for apetizers, followed by Lamb and mashed potatoes. Lamb was tender and did not need use of knife, potatoes were creamy and just right, side salad was crispy. Desert was Zito ("wheat") and it tastes much better than it sounds. The Serbian wine Obecanje ("Promise")delivered as name sugests.

I went to Serbia last year and fell in love with eastern European food. This food was just as good as the home cooked food I had in Serbia. The ambiance was calming. I will definitely be visiting Kafana every time I go to the city. Great find!

Absolutely fabulous Serbian food. I have been wanting to go to this restaurnat since it had opened and finally got the opportunity. The food was fresh, the service great and the atmosphere exactly what you would expect in a Kafana- a "coffee house" in downtown Belgrade. For anyone who would like to experience authentic Balkan food or for those who get nostalgic and miss the "good old days"... this is the place to go.
A note for anyone going- the restaurant is cash only.
