Diner Reviews
  • "Reservations were made for a Sunday brunch- table was ready, and we were greeted warmly. We were attended to quickly and efficiently. Will return and recommend to others."

  • "The food is fantastic and the service outstanding! The wait staff is extremely well trained and know the menu inside and out. Everyone is very attentive but not at all over bearing. They pay attention and are there anytime you need something. I've been to Kachina on several occasions and have tried several of the dishes. Everything I have ordered has been excellently prepared and tastes fantastic. I highly recommend this place."

  • "From point of entry to paying and leaving, the entire experience was wonderful. Freddy, our server, was knowledgeable, accommodating (I'm a celiac and my daughter is gluten intolerant), and most patient, as we were enjoying dinner with my dad, and we're all foodies - sampling the options from appetizer through dessert. Freddy even brought out a desert sampler when he learned that we were starting our daughter's birthday celebration that night with dinner and Harlem Globetrotters. We are definitely coming back here again."

  • "Two couples enjoyed a great evening meal. The menu selection allows for a variety of small dishes or larger entrees to suit any need. All dishes tasted were delicious. Reasonable prices as well. The pitcher of Sangria was a hit at our table - not too sweet and had an undercurrent of some spice. A group of friends had been here for lunch and raved about it, although I cannot speak to it personally."

  • "Love this place so much! Their food is delicious, fresh, imaginative, creative and served with passion. I've had some very wonderful flavor combinations, that I never would have thought of. It's great for a romantic, fun dinner, or I could see it would be great for a group gathering. They have a nice patio, although it was wintertime when I went last. The bar was hopping."

  • "Great food and flavors! We didn't expect to find such a unique restaurant inside the Westin Hotel in Westminster, but obviously many others have discovers the place as it was busy. The food distinctly has a New Mexico flair, ranging from the New Mexico enchiladas, Navajo Tacos, to a variety of cuts of meat and seafood. I had the tenderloin wrapped in bacon, that was accompanied by a sweet potato dish. Everything was very flavorful. We are locals and I am a bit biased because of all the 'chain' restaurants in the area whose menu's are almost identical. The food at Kachina was a very refreshing and flavorful change and seemed well prepared. We will be back."

  • "I work in the restaurant business so I can be a bit over critical when I have a bad experience. But, with that being said I want to give praise when it is warranted. The hostess were very friendly and inviting and showed us in to our table quickly, the Server Karissa was exceptional! Karissa was very outgoing and friendly as well as knowledgeable and passionate about the food she served. Karissa was very attentive to our needs and always checked the table every time she passed through her section, she didn't stop every time through but looked at the table and us to access our needs. Karissa made great suggestions and help us decide what was the best for our tastes by asking us questions about what we like. we will be back often."

  • "While staying at the Westin Westminster, we were scheduled to have dinner at a rather pricey restaurant in Boulder. For various reasons, we cancelled and decided to dine at the hotel restaurant, Kachina. We are thrilled we made that choice. The service staff was fantastic. We started with the street tacos, which were out of this world. We then dined on a variety of the appetizers, including the grilled romaine and the white shrimp. What a delight each was. The pitcher of margaritas was excellent and fairly priced. We spent almost two hours in total in the restaurant. We liked it so much, we went back the next morning for a fantastic breakfast. Whether for breakfast or dinner, I highly recommend Kachina."

  • "Food was poor and cold. One of the meals was burnt and the other was cold. The waiter forgot the appetizer. It took over an hour to get our food once the order was placed. Very loud and not suitable for young children."

  • "The food is different which is what attracted me. Loved how it was decorated. Everything was executed with great care and detail. We will absolutely return with friends and family."

  • "Haven eaten at this restaurant several times. The previous times were outstanding and although the service and atmosphere were really good this time, the food wasn't up to the same standard that I felt we had before. We ordered off the restaurant week menu and I was a little disappointed compared to my previous food experiences there. However, the rest of my party were very pleased with their choices, so overall, it was very good."

  • "One of the best parts about the restaurant is the decor. They have a beautiful outdoor area that I can't wait to return to enjoy in warmer weather. The food was good with unique flavor combinations that worked out well. Very friendly and attentive staff."

  • "This restaurant is outstanding. Everything on the menu is great. This was our 2nd time in the last 2 months and I can't wait to go back again and try more items on the menu. The featured dinner item is always very good and fresh as they have their own butcher shop. My girlfriend is gluten free and she has found many items to eat. The prices are very reasonable and they provide large portions."

  • "We enjoyed dinner at Kachina Grill during Restaurant week. The food and service were very good, and the chicken enchilad was the best I've had."

  • "We ate there just this past Sunday for brunch and it was amazing as always. We have been to Kachina several times for different occasions. Happy hour and dinner included. Brunch was an outstanding choice. My boyfriend ordered a smoked bison burrito which he could not finish. I recommend sharing this one with someone else. I had the chorizo benedict whish was also very good with 1 exception; my eggs were poached a bit too long and our daughter and regular benedict which she inhaled and left nothing! She's 10 and loves the food here. Lennie was our server and we never wanted for anything. He was always there with anything and everything we needed. We will definitely be back. Thank you again for a great meal Kachina. Keep up the great work."

  • "Food was decent. Went for 5280. Ordered 2 different appetizers and 4 different entrees between the group and for all six different dishes we got the exact same side. All be it was decent tasting collard greens or something, to come with all courses and all types of food was sub par. They were definitely just trying to pump out numbers and volume instead of taking pride in their dishes. The ambiance was nice though, this is the only reason I would recommend. After forgetting to ring in one of our dishes, the server disappeared. We then saw 3 different people, who had obviously not communicated with each other about the situation."

  • "What my boyfriend ordered was excellent. He had the enchiladas and stated they were fantastic. They used quality ingredients and not a lot of fillers. I had the steak and it was ok, not great, but decent considering it was a New Mexico food restaurant. However, the service was awful. I ordered my steak without the glace on it, and of course they put the glace on it. They replaced it right away though. He ordered a Mojito when they brought our dinner out and we didn't get it, despite asking for it 3 times. Overall I will probably not go back, but my boyfriend will just for the food. The manager, Dustin, did try to do all he could to make it right though."

  • "We stopped by for brunch on a Sunday. We had the pancakes with Prickly Pear curd for appetizer. The cakes were fluffy and tasty, and the curd was pleasantly sweet, but not overbearing. Entrees were the "Indian Burrito" with green chili (rather than red), Huevos Rancheos, and Cooky's Bowl. The chili was a solid medium (almost hot) and not too salty. The smoked buffalo in the burrito was excellent and complemented the chili very well. The bowl was good and hearty: Potatoes, Scrambled eggs, cheese, tortillas, and green chili. Only issue with our visit was the service was spotty. Overall, Highly recommended!"

  • "The food was very good and not too pricey. Valentine's dinner was perfect. Good atmosphere and service was very good and friendly."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "We went for the Valentine's special. The chicken and bison were wonderful. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender while the chicken was moist with a delicate, smoky flavor and crispy skin. Dessert is very special. The blue corn waffles with cream cheese were not too sweet and just a bit rich. The chocolate assortment of cola cake, chocolate covered strawberries, and truffles were perfect to end a memorable Valentine's dinner. Everything was presented beautifully, we had a nice view of the lake, and the wait staff made sure everything was just right. This dinner was on the expensive side but well worth it for a special occasion. There are regular menu options for great food that is still budget friendly. We will be going back."

  • "We have been to Kachina's several times and have yet to be disappointed in either food or service. Lenny was spectacular handling our group of 5 rambunctious women. The food was to die for. I highly recommend the Smoked Bison Meatloaf or the tacos, but you really can't go wrong."

  • "I have eaten here several times and the food is consistently tasty. It is modern southwestern, with interesting twists on many familiar dishes like Elsa's tamale: a giant tamale (equal to 2-3 normal ones) filled with shredded veal, and spicy jack cheese served over beans; it was delicious! The place has a great atmosphere but is not too noisy for a lunch meeting, . There is a great patio with outdoor heaters and pit fireplaces - so you can even enjoy drinks and appetizers outside in the cool weather."

  • "I ate at Kachina Southwestern Grill for the first time the other night. The food was excellent. My only complaint is that the service was not fantastic. The service was slow and I was brought something other than what I ordered twice. I was also then brought things that I didn't order. In the end the bill was wrong but it was corrected. Overall, the food was great but the service could improve. Nice place to take a group or someone visiting town."

  • "Our usual server, Katie, was off, so Lenny expertly handled our table. We go very regularly, and are glad to say that the staff have now become friends. Managers Lauren and Dustin both stopped by for a chat, and our food (as usual) was fantastic! See you again soon! -Steve & Defne Oatney"

  • "Food was delicious! I especially love the traveling taco cart. They make appetizer sized samples of a special taco when you dine. We had beef tenderloin on the night we were there. The place is a bit noisy, so if your hearing is not so good ask for a table away from the bar."

  • "We eat at Kachina often because we stay at the Westin very frequently. The margaritas are amazing. We love sitting out by the fireplaces. Great place to gather with a group for happy hour. Food is very good. Servers are professional. We were very surprised that they took a last minute large party Saturday night and sat us 15 minutes late for our birthday party. Very unlike what we are used to at Kachina. Make a reservation if you are there when a convention or conference is at the hotel or you'll have a hard time getting a table."

  • "It's so hard to find a terrific restaurant in the suburban doldrums of Broomfield/Westminster. Most are chains that lack creativity. So Kachina, in the Westin Hotel, is a pleasant change. It has a wonderfully diverse and unique menu of Southwestern dishes. My faves are the various tacos (fluffy tortillas are homemade). They are small but filling, so I order two, but larger appetites might be happier with three. Awesome Sangria and margaritas as well. Complimentary valet parking was needed the night we went."

  • "Kachina is kind of hard to find because it is in the Westin hotel, with only small signage to find it. You would expect to find it across the street with all of the other restaurants. Don't let that stop you and don't expect normal hotel food. The atmosphere is fantastic, bartenders and wait staff are extremely knowledgeable and Chef Jeff prepares wonderful and tasty Southwestern food; best Iv'e ever had. It is so fresh and we have come to find out that they pride themselves is buying locally, partnering with Colorado farmers and ranchers."

  • "Since it was Christmas there was a set menu with four courses with three offereings in each course. The great thing was that you were served each offering in each course and the servings were small enough that you weren't stuffed by dessert. You could also take anything you didn't finish with you."

  • "What a treat to find a restaurant with an upscale, diverse menu in Westminster where chain restaurants are the rule. Located on the ground floor of the Westin Hotel, the decor is beautiful, yet relaxed and festive. The southwestern New Mexican cuisine is well-crafted and artfully presented; a good value for the price. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. For a sampling of flavors try the Navajo Tacos, flat bread with a variety of meat fillings at $5 each. Our entree favorites include Chipotle Shrimp with Blue Corn Waffles, Christmas-style Chicken Enchiladas, and the Smoked Bison Meatloaf. The menu also includes simpler grilled meats and seafood prepared to order along with daily specials."

  • "We've been to Kachina several times, and opted for dinner there on New Year's Eve. They added some specials (3 course dinner option for a reasonable price) with some special items for the night. The appetizers (tamales and Pinxtos) and entrees (Salmon and Bison Tenderloin) were amazing and we hope they add these to their regular menu. The bread pudding for dessert (not a normal menu selection) was very good. The normal dessert menu is always fantastic (chocolate biegnets, cookies & crème, etc. -- All are fabulous). Noise level was a bit high on NYE but to be expected considering the evening."

  • "I love, love, love Kachina! They have the best flavor combinations. We've been with kids two times (3 kids 5 and under) and the staff was great! They have a good kids menu (no fried chicken nuggets and hot dogs, but real food!). The grill plate is awesome. The tacos are amazing. The corn on the cobb is a special treat. For drinks, the margaritas are great, and the aqua fresca is good as well. The ambience is great and it's a great date night or family outing. If you go with a family make sure you make reservations in advance as it can be a long wait with kids. Enjoy! You won't be disappointed."

  • "The Kachina is fabulous - you really can't get better than this place. The menu is amazing - you'll spend just 20 min drooling on it! Then you'll be completely shocked with how satisfied you are with the flavors of the dishes. if it is busy and you find yourself waiting for a table or service then that's because this place is rapidly gaining in popularity and loyal patrons! The wait will be worth it! The staff are extremely friendly, attentive, helpful and passionate about what they are serving, so just know that they are trying their best to help you get a table and enjoy the Kachina experience! :) you will not regret checking this place out and then you'll be hooked!"
